It integrated quickly and effectively with other email marketing platforms, was fairly easy to set up, and improved deliverability in large part due to IP sharing which allowed for unrivaled readership/reception rates that were unmatched by any competitor, but unfortunately it has declined and is no longer the same.

Inconvénients

The bad thing is that the IP must be changed so that the mails are not classified as spam and reach their recipients, there are things that technical support does not want or can not collaborate to guide in the process of tracking mails.

I love tracking the email activity using SendGrid. One of the features I use the most is checking to see if emails are being sent out through our software. Our company allows our customers to connect with theirs, and using SendGrid when our customers have questions regarding email received, I am able to look into the Activity section and check if emails failed for a specific one. Customers are always saying they never received invoice, or email. This way we can check if its their email provider blocking or if we are doing something incorrectly. It allows us to make our customers happy and keep them from falling through the cracks and being unhappy with the company.

I do like the Dashboard section as well, and feel that I need to start utilizing other perks of this software not just the Activity section!!!

Nothing. Well, I liked the promises, until I found out they were empty and not at all what I would experience.

Inconvénients

Doesn't work as promised, created even MORE trouble than I had before them, and the customer service is deplorable. They don't listen, don't address your concerns, point fingers, and use passive-aggressive tactics to make you look unprofessional with your clients, then tell you you need to upgrade or spend more to get what you want.

First of all, Sendgrid is not expensive as compared to other email campaign platforms and they give you great value for money. Email campaign is always amazing with Sendgrid.

Very little useful integrations. Most of it is barebones to the core, the minimum so it qualifies as a proper mailing platform. Others are much better. You can't even put emojis on emails.

Everything. FIrst of all it didn't send campaigns properly so we had to beg customer support to make it work, and they would take their time, and we lost campaign timings so leads got cold. We lost ROI because of that. And they wouldn't make a discount or refund despite us losing money was their fault.

Avantages

Integrations were super easy. Providing a SMTP interface made for a seamless transition from using SES and Gmail to Send Grid. Email delivery is fast, and bounce rates are very low. The ability to dump all events is also super helpful for slicing delivery and engagement in the email channel.

I was looking for a service that made getting information about our email sending easier. I had to combine this service with keen.io in order to have a full package. For developers looking for a turnkey solution, I would set those two up as a pair. Otherwise, you can consume the stats and process them on your platform.

Email delivery is terrible. The same blacklisted IPs are used over and over again causing nothing but embarrassment and frustration. When you submit tickets, and if they answer, they will paste a canned response that encourages you to upgrade to the next tier. I honestly think their algorithm intentionally does this to force clients up the marketing funnel.
I came for email delivery, not the pretty GUI. I got a pretty GUI and horrific email delivery.

Avantages

We use this product for sending/tracking emails from our product.
It's super efficient in tracking.
Email deliveries are on spot and there are very fewer chances that bulk emails will hit SPAM.
We are overall very happy with the choice we have made with them.

Inconvénients

The only thing I would like them to improve is on the backtracking of the content which was sent.
Currently, we are able to track the email that who sent it and when and whether it's opened or not but we are not able to track what was sent in that emails so that our customer support can be more efficient.

We have started with a free forever plan to make email and send it to bulk users of our organizations. Since it starting of exploring the tool we get major features like:-

1. Email templates creation and scheduling.
2. Send bulk emails to the identified people or groups.
3. Easy to track email trails/transactions.
4. Third party API integration with the SendGrid platform.

Not find major cons to the platform till now. one thing that can be appreciable if they improve support to the beginner on the platform.

- Very Good and Up to Date Documentation with an awesome helper tool
- Very Good and prompt Customer Service. I have chatted them with quite many times and was able to get all my issues resolved in no time. Not once did they fail to resolve my queries
- The User Interface is very good and easy to use and also makes configuration very easy.

After trying and testing out many SMTP services, I have found the best and highly reliable SMTP service for my emailing needs.
It definitely provides me the higher delivery rates for my marketing campaigns.

At first, I was held back by its pricing plans so decided to opt just for its SMTP services.
Also, some of the advanced features were quite overwhelming for me and were also difficult to find those in their documentation.

Scalability, good price and intuitive interface make SendGrid one of the best solutions when you need to send emails via a simple, reliable, stable and very responsive API

If your contact list is very large, pricing is no longer so convenient. When I needed support, I didn't get any quick or helpful answers right from the start.

I have been using quite a few email providers but sendgrid turns it up a notch with its interface. The stats, the details etc all are provided but in a more friendly way in comparison to other competitors.

The stats are not being updated in real time. I have to actively go and search for an email on my own instead of seeing it immediately as failed etc.

The built in tracking is quite nice and they make it very easy to configure. Knowing not only opens/clicks but unique values was great.

SendGrid won't let me upgrade my account, even after verifying domains and waiting months. Support was hard to find and completely non-responsive.

Being able to automate email notifications was a must-have for our product. SendGrid made this easy through the use of templates and easy-to-understand documentation. We have been able to use templates or modify them through the code editor to suit all of our needs.

Like many others, the customer support for SendGrid has been the biggest drawback for me so far. Otherwise, the only other issue has been managing unsubscribes if the user was responding to a message sent to a distribution list or group alias.

Recently, I started a side project and I was looking for a service to send emails from my database. i found some apps but SendGrid caught me. its simplicity, the ease to use, and the clean design made me choose it over others. It is very easy to configure and has support for many programming languages. It literally took me about 10 minutes to configure everything and send my first email.

I received an email that email account might have been compromised. I responded to the ticket, and heard no response even after two attempts to reach out and follow up. I ended up having to reach out via Twitter and finally got some support.

The thing that I like most about SendGrid is that you can upload your list instantly, they don't ask people to optin to your list which is great, you get a 30 day free access and you can send 40000 emails during that time and add up to 2000 people to your email list.

They have a lot of functions which means a learning curve, you have to set aside some time to learn all that if you wish to use it to its full capacity.

For a beginner, the free plan offers 100 emails/day, which is alright to get started. Besides, SendGrid offers API and Webhooks in all their plans, including the free tier, which is highly appreciated. The setup process is relatively easy, and the email delivery rate is decent. Overall a good tool for email marketers.

It is very simple and intuitive! I know where to find things and how to set things up without having to read some help menu. I love how the campaign stats show a visual graph of how many people it reached, how many opens, bounces, marked as spam, etc. The individual campaigns are easy to set up and it looks very clean and easy to manage. The option to export the stats is also very helpful when it comes to reporting and tracking purposes.

I haven't quite used it enough to find all the inconsistencies or lacking features. But I have noticed that unless you are extremely careful with what contacts you upload (CSV) and how you create your segments, you could have a bit of a mess with whom you're trying to email your campaign to. It would be very easy to accidentally send the wrong email to the wrong contact if they happened to fall under the criteria for a different segment.

Have a lot of emails to send out and need them to end up not in the spam folder? SendGrid solutions is a great option to send out multiple emails with the software needed to not be considered spam. I am able to create templates that can be emailed on a schedule and automatically sent to multiple emails.

- API is good, not great. Can be a little confusing and some functionality is a bit tucked away.
- Would be appreciated if privileges could be restricted a bit more. For example, you can limit an API key to only allow it to send emails, but you can't control much about what emails are allowed to be sent that way.

Sendgrid have many functionality which are very easy to use. We can send Transactional/ Promotional emails, newsletter etc and can be sure that these will be delivered in inbox. The support response is really very good. This is very simple to integrate in our backend system also.

The only thing that troubles me is the support staff as they fail to follow up on the issues and support is an area where SendGrid can improve a lot.
Also, my shared IP's do not pass the spam checkers and get flagged often as spam.

Sometimes you need to send out a TON of email and you don't need any frills. The pricing is reasonable. The platform is simple. The reporting works.

Your visual edit works and it does a pretty decent job pulling out bad emails.

There's a TON of room for improvement. I would love some additional custom fields when it comes to sorting my data. I think you need to find a better place to put your "lists" inside its own menu. I've often spent minutes trying to track down where a new set of uploads has gone or struggling to find the right place to do the upload in the first place.

You allow for scheduling but not running sequences based on the reactions. I would LOVE to see far more advanced functionality in the future.
