Send mass emails without trouble
We use SendGrid to send mass emails and to integrate their SMTP with our application so it is available to send emails from our domain. In the beginning there were some hiccups, but support helped us solve it a timely manner. Once it was all correctly set up, it is just working!
Avantages
SendGrid allows us to send personalized mass marketing emails to our large database without trouble. Email campaigns can be send using drag&drop email builder which is very easy to use and provides a lot of features and is a good point for starters. However, what I really like is their API integration with a lot of other software. Developers can create API keys for SMTP email sending from their application and it is relatively easy to integrate it because all major programming languages are supported out of the box.
Inconvénients
I had some troubles with verifying domain email for sending but one support ticket resolved it in a very short period of time. Also had troubles with sending emails from IP addresses that were on email spam/blacklist. However, that can be mitigated by upgrading to a more pricier plan.

Good Software but a lot of bugs
It was okay; it could have been a better product if the software had fewer bugs.
Avantages
The contact feature and UI are the best; you need no training and you can pretty much immediately start using it.
Inconvénients
The software is riddled with bugs. This is the only downside to this software. After using it for 2 years, we decided to move on to different software.

Avantages
We have been using Sendgrid for more than 2 years, we use it only for transactionals emails. Now we are moving to another solution because of the weak delivery provided by sendgrid.
Inconvénients
Available only in English. Add spanish and french will be a plus

Our Choice for Transactional Email in Webapps
Avantages
When we build a webapp, one of the first things we integrate is SendGrid. It is reliable and easy to setup. We have no reason to choose any other solution.
Inconvénients
Only negative thing I can think of, is that I feel like we tend to be late to learn about new features in SendGrid. Maybe the team could do a better job at communicating updates through more mediums.

Great SMTP email service that checks all the boxes
Overall SendGrid has been a very solid solution for sending our product related emails. We have been using SendGrid for many years now and haven't run into issues, once it was setup we just left it alone and have sent thousands of emails over time.
Avantages
SendGrid is a very reliable solution for sending emails via SMTP or via their API. We have experienced great deliverability of our emails as well as excellent reliability with their service. SendGrid has good pricing as well and can handle sending a large number of emails without a high cost.
Inconvénients
The initial setup took a bit of time, it wasn't entirely clear how to authenticate with SendGrid - the documentation was a mix between explaining normal SMTP email sending and sending via the API and it wasn't always clear which they were referring to.

Reliable, Best-In-Class for transactional emails and overall email deliverability.
My overall experience with both the product and the company has been overtly positive. It is a powerful tool that is only limited by the user's imagination and technical savviness.
Avantages
Sendgrid is highly configurable to the needs and database structure of our business. It helps blend data, product, and marketing all while ensuring reliable data and deliverability. Tons and tons of automation and customization features as well.
Inconvénients
I wish it were easier to isolate and visualize the performance of a single email rather than just an email category. I find myself searching an address who I know received a certain email, clicking into their profile and history, and then clicking on that email in order to view performance and the template.

Glitches glitches and lacking data
Avantages
It's versatile and offers importing of as many contacts as you want which is ideal for us given that we use Salesforce to import contacts from. Has most features that an marketing software has, other then automations.
Inconvénients
I can't count how many times I've come across glitches. And user glitches that lasted months! particularly during the switch over from the original newsletter system to the "marketing campaigns" system. It was very poorly managed to the point where we couldn't even switch users without completely logging in and out. Managing unsubscribes across multiple users is virtually non-existant, and the data is deleted after 3 days. not very long at all for a paid software system.

Using sendgrid for the last 5 years
Avantages
We have integrated sendgrid API. They provide us with good email deliverability which is a key factor for us. The stats about the email campaigns they send are near accurate and we can trust them. We also use an alternate service provider just to make sure that emails blocked by sendgrid are delivered through that provider.
Sendgrid also provides us with interesting articles via their insiders program. I found that insightful and engaging. We can get opinions from experts in the area there.
Inconvénients
If you are planning to reach out to recipients who have opted in to receive emails, then sendgrid works best. If you are planning to send marketing emails to anyone who didn't subscribe with you chose another email service provider.

Powerful
Customer support has been very knowledgable and supportive when I've talked to them.
Avantages
We use SendGrid only for transactional emails, and its great.
Inconvénients
Wish pricing for dedicated IPs wasn't so expensive. Wish email templates could be organized into folders - for example, a folder for Client A that contains templates for Signup, Password Reset, etc, and then repeated.

Great email api
So far Sendgrid has been great and with Twilio acquiring them I think they could become even better.
Avantages
We have used Sendgrid for more than two years now. The API is great and we only had problems of an email not being sent by them once.
Inconvénients
I think the customization of templates without using HTML could be easier. It would make the job of our designer easier.

SendGrid is super easy to setup and use. The sdks and developer references make is super easy to implement in pretty much any language or framework.
Inconvénients
The "Activity" and logs only go back a few days. It makes it difficult to research if emails were successfully delivered if they are older than a few days.

A big player in the email service market. Do email, and they do it well.

Avantages
SendGrid is a huge player in the SaaS email sending business. They have many features, and their API is clean and easy to use. They provide SDKs for most platforms, which are super nice and easy to use.
Inconvénients
It's a little pricey.
Their API can be pretty slow to send emails.
Free plan is not usable at any scale.

API implementation is shaky and there are some 500s that you can't solve
After ending up on a 500 error from their server on a simple endpoint to create API keys on subusers, I made a support ticket. I had some answers at first and then the ticket stayed unanswered for 24 days, after which I went to Twitter to push them to answer me. They did answer me and told me to try using the API test tool to see if that would also produce the same 500. It did, it was now pretty clear that the error was on their side. 2 days later my ticket was simply deleted without any answer, I cannot see it in my list anymore. Despite asking them about it on Twitter again, nothing changed... I would strongly avoid Sendgrid if you're planning on using it for anything important.

If you use the most basic features of SendGrid, it will work and do what you need.
Inconvénients
Don't use Subusers, ever! If you are a company who will need to rely on their subusers feature to provide services to your client, please don't, you're wasting your time and you're better off trying another provider that has the same type of functionality but that actually WORKS and is more simple. 500s left and right, endpoints that simply don't work, wrong documentation, ...

Near effortless SMTP integration with WordPress
I've used/trialed plenty of campaigning/transactional email management software, and the learning curve to using SendGrid isn't all that complicated. In my line of work, I continue to use multiple service providers similar to SendGrid for the different websites/businesses I work with. And SendGrid (along with other providers) is an asset in our business' offerings to our clients.
Avantages
For a seasoned WordPress developer, integrating SendGrid's transactional emailing facility, is a walk in the park.
Inconvénients
I preferred the free transactional/marketing email quota system of a competitor to SendGrid.

Poor customer service- misleading advertising
I think they have robots working there as the times I had requested support I got standard answers that don't actually address the support issue. Email design options are limited and usually the result don't present well in Outlook clients anyway. After over 2 years I changed to a new provider with much better design options, and emails appear as they should in email clients.
I resisted moving as I thought it would be difficult and emails would end up in junkmail folders. As it turns out our new provider made it easy and no problems with deliverability!

Price - Unfortunately you get what you pay for
Poor deliverability due to ip address being on spam lists and when requesting support the only fix according to sendgrid was for us to spend a fortune in dedicated IP address.

From Good to Worst
Avantages
Have used sendgrid almost 6 years now, when it was not acquired by Twillo the things goes very nicely, cause they have the policy to change the IPs to get better deliverability with almost 15% open ratio but after acquiring by twillo my experience started from good to worst, they stop changing IP's and when you called the customer service they are unable to do any thing, hence, after six years business relation with Sendgrid, finally has cancelled the subscription

In shared IP plans, operator need to change the IP every fort night so that deliverability can be improved

Great email marketing tool!
I recommend to everybody who is looking for the best practices in email marketing. It is expensive when you send mass emails campaign, but the easy integration with their API was a life-saver.

A really good email relay service
Avantages
An easy way of delivering mail through a reputable, tracked cloud relay service. The ability to have multiple sub users with different quotas set for each. The pricing is really competitive.
Inconvénients
The response on customer tickets hasn't been as fast as I'd expect, some tickets took days to get a response.

Easiest Integration
Using SendGrid has allowed us to work on our own development and focus on rolling out new features rather reinventing wheel and spending time and effort to setup a reliable email relay on our own. For SMEs it's the best value for money.
Avantages
It's the easiest platform I've found from integration perspective and is good value for money. Takes care of most of email delivery issues and provides good integration APIs for your own backend processing.
Inconvénients
New features delivery isn't very fast and there's no beta program.

Used to be a good company and has seriously declined
When complaining to Sendgrid I spoke with several people who were empathic to my frustrations about the program no longer working as it should. They even paid my $100 in Amazon credit to do an in-depth interview/survey about my experience but still nothing changed. I downgraded last year to a free account when Covid hit and hadn't used the free version since last September. Then this week a hacker was allowed to hack my free account and send hundreds of thousands of spam emails. Sendgrid caught the problem and notified me of it, but only AFTER charging me $522 for my "overages" on a free account. It has been 8 days and still no refund. Now they seem to be ignoring me and nobody has said they will refund anything as they still as of 5 days ago were "looking into the matter"
Very enraged at this point. I couldn't NOT recommend a company any more than Twilo Sendgrid, except for maybe Ziply Fiber Internet Services. Terrible.

Ever since it was sold to Twilo it has serious flaws and many functions don't work like they should. One example is I can't even get a list of the emails I uploaded. Says "Not available at this time" when I try to individually edit or delete a contact. There are a few dozen other issues like this.

SendGrid Review
Our business Server is located with GoDaddy and their email delivery service is basically Black Listed which was a real problem for our mass mailer.
We found SendGrid and decided to Port our Server's emails delivery via them.
We ordered a dedicated IP address and our mailing have been flawless in delivery providing all the data one would need to manage email deliveries and an manage delivery to keep from being accused of spamming or popping up on Black Listings.
If we have any issues or questions customer service is always there for us.

Customer Service is one of the best. Courtesy and knowledgeable they are one of the few companies I actually enjoy speaking with.

Avantages
Sendgrid has a webAPI which hooks it up to your other software so you can send transactional emails e.g. invoice chase ups, issuing trial licenses etc.
It's easy to use in that regard but...
Inconvénients
You can tell that its origins are in transactional emails - it's good at these, but it's not great at marketing emails. Yes, it sends them. But it's pretty bad when it comes to analysing and reporting on the data from email campaigns. It lacks some basic statistics and we had to export the data in to an excel document to get anything meaningful from it.

The best there is
I use it in my server to send all transactional mail, on my blogs. I have it all setup so I don't keep sending emails to people who have bounced.
Avantages
It integrates with everything, it has the best pricing tier, it's easy to use. Perfection.

I think this is the only web service I use that I don't have any complaints about.

Simple answer to programmatic emailing
Avantages
Super simple to set up - documentation was pretty clear, and we were able to hook up our email domain to their systems in 15 min. We use them for simple transactional emails, and haven't had any deliverability issues.
Inconvénients
We would switch our Mailchimp marketing emails to them if their UI editing and management tools were as robust - but they seem to making nice improvements in this area, so maybe that will come sooner than we realize :)

Pretty Solid and Reliable
We've used Sendgrid for a few years now, without a hiccup. It's worked well for us and has been very reliable. Their interface is easy to use and has most of the features you would expect, e.g. reporting, graphs, metrics, and the ability to search for users and emails that were deployed. I've had various members of my team trained up using it without any problems and they use it on a daily basis. We're heavily invested in it now. Sendgrid has pretty good customer service too, and have helped us quickly whenever there has been an issue. Sendgrid is solid and reliable.

Inconvénients
- Can get a little pricey if you send over 100,000 emails

It's great but needs small corrections
Sendgrid is an efficient tool for email marketing. It allows sending emails with a high rate of delivery and very low bounce one thanks to its reliability. It is really convenient!
Avantages
There are different templates ready to use to create your marketing campaigns. If you don’t find a template that fits your needs you can laying out yours using the design editor or the code one.
With regards to the design editor, you can set up an appealing template only by dragging and dropping the modules available on the tollbar placed on the left side of the page. The code editor allows writing the custom html code of your layout.
Sendgrid offers an A/B test function to test the effectiveness of different texts, images, objects, and so on. Checking the insights you could easily choose the most performing email you created.
After composing an email you can send different email tests (with no limits) to multiple recipients. Schedule option available.
You can switch from desktop to mobile view in just a click.
You can update your contact lists and organize them by segmenting the users.
On the homepage you can see your reputation calculated according to the percentage of bounced emails and spam reports you got in your campaigns.
The reports and the insights collected by the tool are really useful, reach and detailed.
Inconvénients
The design editor and the coed one are not synchronized. If you create your template on the design editor and then edit it in the code one you might lose many formatting options.
Sometimes you can’t undo your actions.

We are b2b platform for iGaming and support our customers (online casino operators) also by sending CRM email messages to end subscribers. Sendgrid fits the best for this purpose because of possibility to white label senders
Inconvénients
Really annoying the stats report. I can't see it in one display by horizontal and need to scroll it all the time and I have no option to customize it somehow. Also, mailbox providers deliverability report is not useful, would be much better to see top10 mailboxes at the report.

Great product and was our default mail provider for three years.

Getting set up and implementing Sendgrid has been easy to do, we've used it throughout all web apps that we build and it's been rock solid.

Exceptionally bad Customer Support when you have specific technical questions
On the basis of our 0 out of 10 experience with Customer Support for a question that competitors answered successfully within days, they didn't win our business.
Avantages
User Interface looked good.
Integration with Magento was well documented.
Deliverability features (Domain Authentication) looked solid too.

We ran a free trial to compare SendGrid with two other big other transactional email vendors and had the same specific technical question to engage support with for all three of these vendors. The other two came back with a specific and accurate answer within 1-2 days.
We're currently at 6 weeks with 7 rounds of attempts at clarification. The first 5 rounds was immensely frustrating, as their front line support fundamentally didn't have the skills to answer the question and stonewalled us from L2 support / Engineering from 12 December to 29 December. When we finally had an engineer assigned to the ticket, they didn't read the ticket history and pointed us at an irrelevant and out of date piece of documentation.
Excited to have been assigned someone technical, we replied same day with more detail hoping for progress. We haven't received any response to that reply, even after a follow-up 5 days later, then another follow up 20 days after that.
Very disappointing.

A service that just works once you've completed the setup. Highly recommend it.

SendGrid has great performance and features that will cover all your bases. It is simple and fast to set up and after that, just works.

Don't roll your own, roll with the best.
We automated lead notifications and some large scale marketing. Next we really overhaul our transactional.
Reliability is the number 1 benefit - once we get the response from the API we consider it as good as sent.
Avantages
Every feature you can think of and most of them available using an API.
Transactional templates are worth the price of admission alone.
Inconvénients
I guess there could be a little more in the image edit/process department but I didn't expect it or miss it.

Customer support use to be awesome. Use to be an awesome solution for small businesses. This has since been scaled back, and now focused more on helping medium to large businesses.

Simple to use and excellent reliability
We use Sendgrid to handle the emails our web applications, online stores, and WordPress via their plugin.
Avantages
Loved how easy it was to integrate their email service into our applications. The dashboard provides insightful data such as metrics , drop rates, and opened vs unopened emails.
Inconvénients
Haven't personally experienced and cons to using their service. I do see that prices can be a bit expensive once you pass 100, 000 emails per month.

More than just a simple SMTP
Avantages
It integrated quickly and effectively with other email marketing platforms, was fairly easy to set up, and improved deliverability in large part due to IP sharing which allowed for unrivaled readership/reception rates that were unmatched by any competitor, but unfortunately it has declined and is no longer the same.
Inconvénients
The bad thing is that the IP must be changed so that the mails are not classified as spam and reach their recipients, there are things that technical support does not want or can not collaborate to guide in the process of tracking mails.

Good API, deliverability and subscription management, but poor UI

Best SMTP product I've used
I have come back to Sendgrid dozens of times to ensure that my clients' are getting the emails delivered that they need to successfully run their businesses. I highly recommend this service.
Avantages
Not only is Sendgrid easy to use and set-up, it quickly integrates with Wordpress to ensure transactional emails and notifications are delivered. Additionally, it's free plan is unlike any other for my small clients. For my larger clients, the paid plans are great!
Inconvénients
I have used this software for years without issue. While I am only using a few of its features, I am confident that they will get the job done every time.

Easiest and cheapest solution. Needs some advanced features.
Until now SendGrid was one of the best tools I have used at work.
Avantages
Easy to use, essential features available on cheapest plan.
Inconvénients
The lack of templates. For me as a person who is not advanced with coding, having different templates would make my job easier

Avantages
I love tracking the email activity using SendGrid. One of the features I use the most is checking to see if emails are being sent out through our software. Our company allows our customers to connect with theirs, and using SendGrid when our customers have questions regarding email received, I am able to look into the Activity section and check if emails failed for a specific one. Customers are always saying they never received invoice, or email. This way we can check if its their email provider blocking or if we are doing something incorrectly. It allows us to make our customers happy and keep them from falling through the cracks and being unhappy with the company.
I do like the Dashboard section as well, and feel that I need to start utilizing other perks of this software not just the Activity section!!!

Nothing so far, I do want to start using the other sections of this:)

The overall experience was good.

Avantages
I like the statistics, and that I can check if emails have reached their destination and if they've been opened. It also automatically checks if an email recipient is marking your mail as spam or blocks fake email addresses.
Inconvénients
I don't like that you can't check which email it was that was sent. That would be nice if it was blocked or marked as spam. Then you can narrow your search down.

SendGrid is the best platform available for sending large amount of emails to your customers, clients, and all other persons related to your business. In just one click you can send your business announcements to every database. For instance if you want to launch a new product, you can announce it to your clients through Email. All you need to do is make campaign on Sendgrid and add the contacts you want to send. Always remember to add your contact in CSV format. It will send from your business email to the respective client.
Inconvénients
While sending Email through SendGrid there is a chance that it might be move to the spam message of the recipient. It will not happen everytime, only chances are there.

Avantages
The integrations that exist makes it easy to get started with and saves you alot of time.
Inconvénients
We have had issues that our users are not receiving the verification emails. This have at some times killed the conversion of trials.

Sendgrid is an amazing tool and I highly recommend it to anyone who is cold emailing leads.

SendGrid is a great service for sending personalized emails. I love how easy SendGrid is to use and the automation features that they provide. I have used it for years and it has helped me to create a more personal and professional relationship with our leads. They have helped me send over 1000 emails in the last three months and I am really satisfied with the service. If you are looking for a new email service, look no further than SendGrid!
Inconvénients
The integrations are a bit tricky when it comes to integrate form builder. Also, the support takes too long to respond sometimes.

Solid platform for sending transactional email
Avantages
SendGrid has been really reliable for our SaaS platform. We send roughly 100k emails per month and haven't had an issue with deliverability. Support has been good when we needed it. They also have a great program for startups.
The SDKs are also getting better every day.
Very happy overall!
Inconvénients
The admin website could use some work as the UX isn't that great.

Legacy interface which is difficult to master if you want to format emails nicely
Good to start with as a free software but much harder to use than other rivals such as MailChimp or FreshMarketing
Avantages
Very standard email campaign service you can find everything you need to track the performance, click rate, maintain contacts and of course edit your email.
Inconvénients
Several components of SendGrid makes it very difficult to use. First, adding new contact and organising them into group isn't as straightforward as it you would in any contacts app like the one on smartphone or Google. Second, the email editor is sometimes complicated when you want to format it nicely such as adjust line spacing, indentation, text colour and fonts. Sometime it is faster to just type in Word and paste into the editor. Also when you have repeating campaigns (which you probably duplicate from old one), still you have to re-enter subject line and add contacts. That is not duplicate at all! Finally the workflow to create campaign, edit email and send out is not smooth and intuitive as a step-by-step procedure.

Garbage
I have NOTHING positive to say about this company or their staff. They have created more problems than solved. They have actually solved nothing at this stage... only created more problems.
Avantages
Nothing. Well, I liked the promises, until I found out they were empty and not at all what I would experience.
Inconvénients
Doesn't work as promised, created even MORE trouble than I had before them, and the customer service is deplorable. They don't listen, don't address your concerns, point fingers, and use passive-aggressive tactics to make you look unprofessional with your clients, then tell you you need to upgrade or spend more to get what you want.
