It did most of what was advertised

Subpar. It did the job but was not impressive. Customer service was also spotty

Avantages

We utilized Contractor Foreman for a little over a year. During that time we had many occasions where the app would not allow our employees to clock in/out or access job information. Many promises were made to improve bids but we never saw any improvement. It seemed like each upgrade or new feature brought frustration and tech support is nonexistent. We also had multiple problems with Stripe and QBO creating duplicate transactions. Overall, the app is average for the price you pay.

Inconvénients

Overpromised upgrades and could not easily download information after we decided to leave.

It has somewhat helped us, and has potential to be great

Satisfied but often super frustrating and requires frequent online chats.

So far so good!

Been good, been a year and still learning how to best use the system, as we get more comfortable with it, it has become easier.

Avantages

Allows me to keep all of my projects and invoicing, etc in one place.

Inconvénients

lack of ability to customize layout, etc. For example, I wish I could configure what data I want to see when viewing invoice summary, like being able to add a column to view "item" which is what that invoice is for, without having to click on them and open it to see which invoice it is. Would rather that than the Invoice # for example. Currently no way to customize the view based on my needs// Would also like to see a dedicated notes section for client management, in other words, there is a notes section under the custom fields (under Project>Summary), would be nice if each time I entered a new note, it would date/time stamp it. For reference in the future.

Great value for the price!

Overall very good and looking forward to it getting even better.

Avantages

The array of tools that work seamlessly with each other and how it syncs with QuickBooks Online.

Inconvénients

Has been exceptionally buggy for the last year which has been a real challenge. There are also bugs I have reported from over a year ago that have not been resolved yet. Finally they do not handle contractor employees well.

Poor Customer Service

Generally ok, except when you need customer service.

Avantages

When it works, it is pretty good.when it does not, customer service is not very good at all.

When there is an issue, Customer Service is not very good. not prompt and precious.I have been locked out for about 3 weeks due to OTP integration, after several emails to get it fixed, I vented my frustration at the time it was taking, only to be told they will cancel my subscription if I did it again, I have been with them for 2 years. Here is what I sent."I still have the same problem.I do not get a text message or email with the Six digit OTP.How can I make this any clearer.Consider this as another time you have dropped the ball.For F#$ks sake, can someone fix this ASAP."

There is no assistance with software issues once you pay the annual software costs

I have been trying to obtain assistance with QB integration and have sent over 7 separate requests to Contractor Foreman for help. I waited until after our trial period was up to attempt to set up the QB integration as I wanted to make sure we were going to proceed with the software before integrating. There is no support despite all my emails requesting assistance. We regret committing to the annual cost of the software. You will be flooded with emails offering support during your trial which is very misleading. Anticipate no help once you pay your premium.

Poor training

Really unpleasant. The person training me never actually got be started. Took 45 minutes to walk through uploading an estimate. Which wasn’t truly necessary to start scheduling. When I reached out to ask a very specific question she simply sent me a link to her schedule. After that she basically trolled me and I ended up to having to cancel. I feel like it would have worked great but after 4 hours of “training” and many videos on my own I never got started.

Avantages

All the features if you know how to use them I’m sure would work great.

Inconvénients

What I liked least was that it was almost impossible to actually get started using the product. The only pleasant and professional and productive part of the process was the QuickBooks integration. My trainer for CF was really unhelpful and non responsive. Happy to waste my only four hours of free training.

Does not integrate with Quickbooks Desktop

They have an online chat that is available for long hours however that is great with questions such as "how do I do this in the system". If you run into a real problem, such as integration or bugs they can't help. They have to escalate to the development team and it takes days to a week to hear back. There is no phone number to call to get a live person, only email and chat. This works for many issues and I prefer it on most days but when you run into REAL issues like I did with integration and odd things happening, it is important to get a live person on the phone to discuss the problems. This can't be done on a chat and that option is not available. Better hope you only need them to ask how to do something in the software and not that the software is acting off or not integration properly because you'll be on your own to figure it out.

Avantages

I really like the project management capabilities. The financial breakdown of each project and how each module feeds into the Financial tab on the project to see exacting where you are with Actual and Committed vs. Budget. It removed the double entry that we currently experience with operating 2 separate systems.

Inconvénients

This software DOES NOT integrate with Quickbooks Desktop. They don't tell you that though and it's only after running into all kinds of problems and nothing working right do they say they really don't recommend using it with Desktop. QB Online is what they recommend. A little too late for that!

Budget-Friendly Project Management Software

Contractor Foreman has been a decent software for our company once we figured out how to use it. Setting up projects was a much different process than we were used to with our previous software. It doesn't have quite all of the features we'd like for tracking certificates of insurance and things of that nature, but we are a niche construction type company; we are a small business working large Government contracts and that comes with its own unique challenges to track.
The software does a great job of tracking job expenses and it is customizable with what types of expenses we can input and synch with our Quickbooks job cost codes but it is not the most user-friendly.
Occasionally there will be a bug in the software, and it is nice that we have quick access to the developers so that they can fix the bugs. However, depending on who you get in the chat function, they are not always the most helpful or professional.
They are consistently adding updates and features and we are hopeful that over the coming months, this will be a software that has all of the features we'd like.

Avantages

The cost is the biggest pro for this software. For the price, you can't beat it. It does an adequate job tracking the things we need to track, and the scheduling tool is great.

Inconvénients

This software was very difficult to implement for our type of construction business. We do a lot of Government projects that require tracking unique items and obtaining different forms that we do electronically that we need our site superintendent able to track as well as office staff. The way to create the forms is difficult to figure out, and the formatting doesn't hold from one screen to the next so we get random spaces and periods in the finished product.

Decent Software with horrible customer service.

Overall software was ok, i believe this software has the potential to be great however their approach on certain circumstances needs to be improved. Customer support is the key, having happy clients is a must

Lots of Capabilities that do not work

Would not recommend for the sake of lack of help from their customer service when CRUCIAL problems appear (which happens a lot)!

Inconvénients

The features work really well in theory but not so much in practice. Integrations with QB are the worst while financials are the most important to the company! Having faced a lot of issues with software, I am spending half of my day talking to customer support. They are able to fix some issues, but it is really annoying that I need to waste so much time for them to fix the issue while they cannot admit that the platform has a lot of bugs and the user himself is not and will not be able to fix problems. The WORST part is that when customer service is not able to assist which happens VERY OFTEN, they request to send email to their customer support. Weeks go by and there is no response. When I reach out to them again, it seems like they have no notes and they start over asking questions, submitting duplicate requests and keep promising to fix the issue. With so many great capabilities it is a shame they are not able to get it together and really take care of their existing clients.

Looking to save a hudge amout of time

Mostly anticipation at this point. Was supper cool to speak to the [SENSITIVE CONTENT], though. He took our call when one of his trainers had a personal emergency. Hearing the logic of how and why he developed this sounded just like our frustrations and list of needs.

Avantages

This looks so amazing, so far it values all the real world things we value. my team is already so stoked. We have so many structures to track, manage and project the problems that must only be relevant to contractors, as no other software seems to understand constructing accounting. Or cyclical project management. So to see these tools has justified our team's deep inner knowing that, YES, these are important, we are not crazy.

Inconvénients

It's a little rough around the edges. Went to add a suggestion, and got an error page instead of a form to fill out. yet, I see that they have even opened up their suggestions to be voted on and hashed out like a forum. so it's not by neglect to my request that the error occurred

Review

Overall, Contractor foreman is one of the tools needed for us to grow. We are able to have more accountability and organization in our business now that we have begun using it

Avantages

Contractor Foreman packs a lot of features into an affordable package. Its nice to have the project management, safety, contact list and basic financials all in one place. Customizable enough to meet most needs. Really like the continual development and improvement, and ability to make suggestions for improvement

Inconvénients

The software can be a bit buggy and glitchy at times. Also the estimating format is not always ideal, but that is supposed to be addressed in the next update

Purchasing

The benefits are that we can track everything that we purchase on any project and there is a history of it to go back even years later to see what was ordered, what project was assigned to each employee, I like the fact that the time card shows where we logged in and out so it helps by keeping people honest.

Avantages

I like the fact that it stores everything and we are able to assign and track different projects even 2 years later.

Inconvénients

I don't like the fact that we cant enter a one time name from a vendor or add an address to be delivered without actually going in and going thru multiple steps. I don't like that I can not add amounts of money to the .00001 place.

Construction Program Review

The biggest problem we solve is instant access and sharing of material both internally and with customers. At the end of the day we have reports and photos that will allow us to view remote projects and communicate with our superintendent. PO requests are sent out for review and approval and can be responded to in a timely fashion.

Avantages

The daily reports along with time cards are critical for tracking the job progress and status. In addition we rely heavily on the photos for updates. We also get a lot of use out of the PO feature as we use these on a daily basis.

Inconvénients

Managing, moving and sharing the photos is the most challenging.

Also, within each item you can click on the Activity dropdown at the bottom and see the emails sent for that item including delivered/open/click/bounced status. Review

We are still working implement and learning all of the options available to us and trying to see if it will work. Sometimes getting help or trying to resolve an issue takes a while, but when I schedule the training the instructor is always very helpful

All of the options and the customizable aspect

Inconvénients

There seems to be so many options that it is hard to learn and implement. Also, some things are not obvious like selecting edit finding the pencil then being able to edit, then selecting save which closes you out of that screen but to actually save what you just did you have to select save again.

Been great! Training has been fantastic . The chat option is great as well. Please keep that up!

Avantages

This product has helped me schdule work. Increased my planning of future work. Been a great helped with subcontractors and employees. App has been easy for everyone to figure out.

Inconvénients

Learning to use CM Software is new to us. So I expected bumps in the road. The not have full Quickbooks integration with the non- online version
Has been my most wanted feature. And still waiting...fingers crossed .

Lots of features at a low cost

Avantages

What I liked most about Contractor Foreman was the monthly cost. However, as we added more staff, it became prohibitive for us.

Inconvénients

At the time I tried this out, the mobile app was not the most intuitive and was a bit cumbersome for the guys in the field. The multitude of features is great as a whole, but we just didn't need everything.

Be careful with free trial!

Although they have a descent program their customer service is horrible. I have so many very unprofessional emails from this company its ridiculous. We have been in business over 10 years and are looking for a scheduling program to use, and be loyal to, but because of their dishonesty and unprofessionalism, I would never use this company.

Avantages

Software seemed easy to use, and makes sense for a typical contractor.

Inconvénients

Contractor Foreman advertises a "free 30 day trial." Once the 30 days were up, and we were not 100% sure about the program, the rep extended the free trial. This happened again, where we clearly told them we can stop the trial but they insisted on continuing it. Until we finally slipped up and did not cancel and the free trial was over. In those 3 months we had little time to work with the program, which is why we didn't make a decision. They immediately charged a year's subscription to our credit card. We called and asked to cancel and asked for a refund. I assumed I would be charged for 1 month, but not the entire year. In addition, they claim there is a 100 day product satisfaction guarantee- I am unhappy after 2 days and still they refuse a refund.

Avantages

The directory is a very good tool for tracking employees.

Inconvénients

The overall user interface. It is clunky and not easy to see or use in a construction environment.
