The fact that you have to manually delete the previous search or it compiles your next search in with the previous one. No major issues though.

Avantages

Open Asset is brilliant, it enables us to manage our digital assets in the way we have always dreamed of! It also allows our team to quickly find and use the resources they need. The support we have received from Open Asset to get things set up has been second to none, which has meant everyone has got up to speed on using Open Asset very quickly.

Inconvénients

So far we don't have any negatives to report, when we compare the situation we are now in to what we were using before there is no comparison! However I have the reassurance that if there were any problems the Open Asset support team would be there for us when we needed them.

Avantages

Simplicity and flexibility so far. I'm a new user who appreciates the options for fields and plugins for various software. We're still in the midst of getting our data in there, but for the data that's already there, it's already saving us time on our processes. You know you're working with a good software team when you see that you can click the "copy" button to copy a bit of text OR select a portion of that text and copy that manually. Having options like that means a lot.

Inconvénients

Sometimes I forget that the search bar up top searches all data by default and that I have to click on "Projects" and use a separate search bar to search for the project I want.

OpenAsset is fantastic, it is the software solution we were looking for and has transformed the way we work with our digital assets. We are now able to access our image library from anywhere, which is fully tagged and searchable, saving time and giving the results we need. One of the best features is the integration with InDesign for drag and drop images and the creation of project sheets and CV's from templates. It really is an all-in-one content management system.

Inconvénients

All the fantastic features that come with OpenAsset does mean that it come at a cost, this could put some people off, but now we are on board, we couldn't image working without it.

OpenAsset is very easy to use and houses all my images in one place. I can also pull resumes from it. It keeps everything organized and in one place.

OpenAsset is a great way to access company photos without filling up your server. The cloud based program allows access from anywhere.

I love that you can categorize by project, but tag by topic for quick searching. The amount of information attached to each upload is helpful so different disciplines can utilize the same images without having to duplicate storage efforts for easy reference.

The search engine has some quirks and can require a little extra effort to learn.

Its interface simplifies file search and organisation. Integrating it into my project workflow saves development time by allowing the team to access relevant resources when needed.

Precise search tagging is required to accurately locate file and transitioning to the app can be difficult. Embedding AI-driven features could make the app more efficient.

Easy to find information ty key words. Allows you to see related images of a defined project which helps you save time in the research.

Sometimes delays a little in the response. Could show more options per page and have an easy button to go back to the top of the page.

I really enjoy that it's linked with our CRM software and provides us with data entry options to link projects, people, documents, and allows us to find our assets much easier.

Avantages

OpenAsset has been a great tool to centralize our project photography, employee photography, and brand assets. The ability to easily upload, label, and then subsequently search has been a game changer. Also--the Indesign plugin is A+. Gone are the days of all those broken links!

Overall, we've had a great experience. The one area I would love to see is a more user-directed template for creating project pages/resumes. Having that flexibility to create something on demand as opposed to working through OA would be awesome.

Avantages

OpenAsset has provided us with the ability to host our library of images online, reducing the amount of data stored in our drives and making it very easy to access images from anywhere in the world. The integration to powerpoint and InDesign expedite the way we design and reduce the file size of what we work on, therefore speeding up the process.

Inconvénients

OpenAsset often has small glitches. Some images might get corrupted and we have to keep a backup on our drive in case we need to upload them again. Another example is images sometimes translate to InDesign or PPT upside down or distorted but this is an easy fix we live with.

OpenAsset has helped us empower our internal staff to search and create their own marketing packages.

We find it difficult to manage and audit our files regularly. We do not have the internal capacity to stay on top of it.

We had no DAM before OpenAsset. We just kept our images in our network drive folders. We are a company of 3,000+ team members and 40+ marketers spread across the country.

I love that we can now search our photos like Google. We can find them faster and more efficiently. The uploading and searching process is fairly intuitive. I haven't had to explain it much to people before they start searching. Instead of finding images for people, I can just direct them to our OA portal and they can find it themselves. Frees up my time.

Inconvénients

Tagging photos is very clunky. I can't blow up the image during the upload process to see details.

Though metadata from the images is transferred into OA, the keywords I have already tagged in my images prior to OA were not transferred as keywords in OA. They are in the description, so I had to re keyword everything. Though the OA techs are writing my a script to do this automatically, but it should be an included feature.

I was told that OA would be integrating AI where they would suggest keywords for my images. I haven't seen it yet, but I am excited for it. Keywording is very laborious.

Avantages

The ease of the migration of our images and the great customer service was awesome.
They are continually updating/upgrading the product to be more intuitive, helpful, and keep up with the technology market. For instance, AI, they've built into the product intuitive searching for similar images. Fantastic feature!

Inconvénients

A couple of the admin features takes a little longer to navigate when you have a large group of users. Have requested a couple of enhancements which they are looking at.

There are a lot we (responses from staff) like most about this software. The features are always being added, the software is easy to use the support is A+ and it integrates with other products.

The add'l cost for storage as it wasn't explained that I would have this so it wasn't budgeted.

Avantages

The capacity and function. You can create PPT or PDF documents, label your photos, save PDF documents, and much much more. It responds quickly so you can create something fast when you need it like a PPT or document to send to your client. You can also just download photos to put into email and you can also save files in various sizes and formats for multiple presentation options. You can also choose a photo and that will prompt other photos similar to what you are looking at so there are multiple ways that you can search and produce a carousel of photos. Excellent for companies that need marketing resources where all employees can access individually. Very user friendly.

The ability to store all of our media assets in the cloud and have it infinitely searchable and accessible by all is so powerful and valuable. The ability to link directly into InDesign has completely changed our workflow.

Inconvénients

We would love more media types to be cataloged (.indd, .aep, etc) and have been having issues with vector files and downloads.

The ranking and tagging capabilities, the album creation, contact sheet feature, and the ability to send external download links.

Not able to drag and drop images into other Adobe programs (Photoshop, for example). OpenAsset plugin only available for InDesign.

Ability to store massive amounts of files on an enterprise network. Deltek connector is essential.

Inconvénients

Supported formats could show a better understanding of digital assets relative to the A/E profession. Support for textures, scripts, BIM families, and other file formats would make this an even more valuable tool for the company. Right now it is primarily a marketing tool when it could service a much wider usergroup.

OpenAsset is extremely searchable and is a dramatic improvement over storing images in folders on a server with searchability limited to file name.

Inconvénients

When linking OpenAsset images into an InDesign file it has a tendency to noticeably slow the operation of my computer. I appreciate the fact that I don't have to worry about broken links, but the lagging they cause can be frustrating.
