Best app to get things done.
Avantages
Things is my daily companion. I open the app first thing in the morning and close it as the last one at night. It‘s super intuitive to add and view task for both short- and long-term projects.
Inconvénients
Only a minor downside: widgets currently don‘t update automatically without opening the app. However, the interaction with the widget got way better with the last version so I‘m sure it‘s just a matter of time until background refreshs work properly

Things is a great way to manage all the "things" you have to do
Things was my main project management app for several years and I loved using it. It was a huge help to my productivity. But there were a few things that I wanted it to do that it did not, and I found ways to work around them. But eventually I found another solution that better fit my needs and I switched over.
Avantages
The best thing about Things is how easy it is to add and organize the tasks that you need to accomplish. It is easy to brain dump them in, and then also easy to move them around and get them in the right order so you can get them done efficiently
Inconvénients
The main problem I had with Things is that I wanted more ways to delineate and differentiate tasks. I use color codes a lot, and tags as well – tags are great in Things, but I could have used more ways to separate tasks and projects so it would be easy to get a sense of what needs to be done at a glance. I don't want to read all the tasks every time I glance over

It's good if you want a simple todo list that looks good, is super easy to use etc.

Disappointed - didn't live up to the hype
It was a good starter point for task management in the world of knowledge work, but I eventually had to progress to a more robust system as my workflow and organizational systems matured. But I 'cut my teeth' in Things and appreciated the syncing between all my devices.
Avantages
It's very simple and user-friendly. It would take no time for someone new to the software to get up and running with it. As a basic task manager, it is perfectly adequate. If you want to build your own system from the ground up, this is a good choice.
Inconvénients
It just wasn't feature-rich enough to justify a price point that was comparable to other task management software choices that DO include richer features. For instance, why no cascading tasks/dependencies? I'm a GTD person, and Things just didn't have all the layers needed to execute GTD digitally. I eventually found a competitor that was clearly designed to work for GTD workflows and abandoned Things. Unfortunately, I had already sunk the costs of paying for the desktop, iPad, AND iPhone apps for Things because everyone else I worked with was using it and seemed to love it. I know many who still do, but I just like to build a task system with much more specificity and robustness.

Things is simply the best task management app I have tried
Things is one of the most important apps in my busy life. It provides, together with my calendar app, structure and confidence that I will remember to do everything needed at the right time.
Avantages
Things simplifies my life and frees up brin capacity by letting me schedule tasks to do today or years from now and then focus on what to do now, knowing that the future tasks will pop-up on my list when they require my attention.
Inconvénients
Things does not have its own geolocation function that allows you to get reminders based on your location (e.g. remind me to talk to X when arriving at work next time). There is a way to accomplish that with app integration, but it would be great if it was native to Things.

Good looking and easy to use task manager.
Overall a pleasant experience. I like the simplicity and the way it looks and feels using it. It does not come in the way of my line of thought.
Avantages
The aesthetics of it combined with its easy to use feature set. It is well put together. Simple and intuitive.
Inconvénients
For me its strength lies in task managment, not project management. I would like some crossover features.

A Frictionless Task Manager
I'm a convert from a major other competitor in the field. I switched because I was overwhelmed by features and spent to much time managing my system. I love Things because it is fully functional and yet simple. I'll be a long-term paying customer.
Avantages
I love the simplicity and aesthetic of Things. It is intuitive and just works. Syncing is rock solid across platforms. It has the essential features I need: Projects, Areas, tasks, notes, and tags. Headings are nice as well.
Inconvénients
There are a few features I wish were available. I mainly wish there was a way to create some custom views or perspectives, especially with tags. I also wish there was the option for a review function.

Getting things done with “Things”
Overall I enjoy working with this app and it helps me clearing my head of tasks and ideas easily and in an effective way
Avantages
Its ease of use and the fantastic user interface and user experience. That it works perfectly with the “Getting Things Done” methodology.
Inconvénients
The interaction with the scrollbar of the sidebar on the left side of the app window when using a mouse. It is sometimes hard to get it moving on the first try, because often you are adjusting the width of the sidebar instead.

Clean and simple, but limited in how you can access it
While I would love to use Things, I had to migrate away from it quite realizing just how limited it was in both features and accessibility compared to the other tools out there. I'm not sure why the company behind the tool has no interest in making their app accessible across all devices when the purpose of the tool is productivity. Productivity is quite hindered if the only way I can access it is by picking up my distracting iphone while I'm trying to get work done on my Windows computer.
Avantages
- Clean and simple UX and UI is probably Things' strongest features compared to the plethora of similar tools out there.- Great for use with the GTD (getting things done) method- one-time purchase
Inconvénients
My biggest issue with Things is that while it's very simple and uncluttered, it really does not help me be productive. It lacks integrations with other tools and the worst part is that the only way you can access it is to use an Apple device. That means there is no possibility of me accessing my notes and tasks when I need to but I'm working on my Windows computer rather than my mac/ipad/iphone. This could be solved with a simple web app version that could be accessed through the browser, but for whatever reason, Things just has no interest in becoming a more widely accessible app.Another con is that while I listed "one-time purchase" as a pro, I also consider it a con because it is a one-time purchase PER device/account that you own. That means I must purchase separately 3 times - one for iphone, ipad, and Mac. It's a very unusual way of doing things in my opinion.

Things is a great out-of-the-box tool.
Overall, I found Things to be a great tool that I used for years! It's so simple and easy, which a task manager should be. I wouldn't recommend using this for any complex project management, but it's wonderful for daily tasks and to-do lists.
Avantages
I love the clean, intuitive interface of Things, the ease of use, and the simple set of (necessary) features! I like that you pay for the app once, and don't have to commit to a monthly payment.
Inconvénients
One thing that Things is lacking is integrations. I really like to be able to easily turn emails into tasks, for example, and there are no email clients that I could find that would sync to Things. Another thing to note is that if you want Things on all iOS devices, you have to purchase the mobile app, iPad app, and desktop app separately. There is no web app, Android, or Windows functionality at this time.

Mix Between Second Brain and Calendar
I use Things on a daily basis in my role as a dental student as well as in my personal life. I would credit Things as being one of the biggest influencers in increasing my productivity over the past five years.
Avantages
The keyboard shortcuts are 100% my favorite part about Things. Throughout my day, as I am told a deadline or think of an idea I instantly will hit my shortcut and dump it into my inbox where I can set alerts and reminders when needed. This allows me to stay focused on my task and not forget anything either.
Inconvénients
I think some sort of calendar integration is due. While I know I can see my tasks in list format, it seems that it would just be too simple to be able to see a calendar view so why not?

So pretty and it works!
It helps me stay on top of tasks and make a note of everything so nothing gets missed.
Avantages
The attention to detail in the design is amazing. Everything is pixel perfect and thought through. This makes it a pleasure to use for my tasks, so I actually do use it! Task creation is easy with the system wide hot key, meaning I can jot things down quickly and file them later.
Inconvénients
The cost is on the high side, especially with the iPad app too. But it works, so for me it's worth it. No windows version, which would be the killer move!

WARNING, highly biased review: I'm a Things die hard fan :)
Being a long time OmniFocus 2 user, at first I was hesitant of switching to Things given the amount of effort, time and money I spent on OF2 already; moreover, I was happy with it (in a general sense) so, again, it took me some time to decide to give Things 3 a fair try.
But when I did... boy, oh boy!
I already tried other task managers (2DO being the most notable of them) but ultimately stuck with OF. But there was one thing about OF3 that especially put me off: the iOS app. This is, of course, a personal taste, but to me just watching the OS3 iOS interface felt a lot of work by itself.
Coming from OF, Things 3 interface feels a visual welcome rest. It's neat, it's easy on the eyes, it displays all the data that you need and the navigation both on Mac and iOS is just fantastic; the more I used Things, the more it grew on me, and the less I was convinced to upgrade to OF3.
But nonetheless switching to Things 3 was the best decision I could make. I can understand why a good chunk of longtime OF users was already migrating to Things (there are some good blog posts about that).
I can say that Things is an integral part of my life, and I'm not exaggerating a bit here. I use it to organize my daily chores as well as personal and work stuff.
It keeps me focused and prevents me from missing a thing. I can safely say that my productivity reached a whole different level by using Things 3, a boost of several magnitudes actually.
Avantages
- Both Mac and iOS apps are *EXQUISITE*
- Buttery-smooth, impeccable performance
- Down-to-earth way to organize your tasks
- Beautiful GUI
- Wealth of features
- Sync between different clients works flawlessly
- Cool API
- Great integration with other apps (I use it mainly with DEVONthink Pro)
- Very nice quick-entry box at the reach of a shortcut
Inconvénients
- I miss not having a public space to discuss the app like other great applications have; I believe that a Discussion forum would add lots of value to the app by enabling its community interaction

Clean, easy to use and useful.
Things is a great app, it is fast, bug-free and easy to use. It syncs quickly across all my devices and has been my favorite way to manage my daily tasks.
Avantages
- The UI is very clean and easy to use.
- The software is very stable and crashes/issues are rare.
- Adding reminders and recurrent tasks is easy and alerts are useful.
- Syncs well with Apple watches.
Inconvénients
- My biggest complaint is that it has no format for texts. It would be great to see at least some basic markdown support. I know this is a todo app, and they want to keep it simple, but I believe that being able to format the description/notes on tasks would make it much better and more useful.
- I wish there was a way to share tasks with other people, for example if I needed to create a list of things to buy from the supermarket.
- Expensive (especially the desktop app), but worth in the long run. I dislike that I had to buy a license for the iPad, another one for my iPhone and one for my Mac, but considering how much I use it, I'm glad I did.

The best task management software for easy to medium complexity setups
It’s my favourite software and couldn’t think about doing without it. It has its limitations, but for my use case the pros greatly surpass the cons, that can be worked around somehow. One thing to keep in mind though is that it’s a strictly individual app, it has no functions for collaboration or sharing anything, and moreover works only on Apple devices
Avantages
Things is very easy to understand and use, and has a very beautiful and clean interface that’s a pleasure to see. It is simple on the surface but can accommodate a bit more complex setups.
Inconvénients
It’s good for managing single tasks to remind or simple projects, but for more complex things it shows it’s limits. The things I miss the most: setting tasks within a project as parallel or subsequent tasks: now they’re shown all together, even the ones not yet actionable; a web interface, for when I don’t have my devices available for some reason. Also, the ability to put tasks on hold or track that they’ve been delegated to others would be good

Excellent ToDo List Organizer Works Great for Projects Too
Avantages
My favorite features of the app include:
• keyboard shortcut for a quick entry box to capture a new to do no matter what I'm doing on my computer
• keyboard shortcut for a quick entry box that captures whatever I've highlighted on my computer and pastes it as a new to do
• integration with Apple Reminders and calendar to import reminders to Things. This is extra useful because I use SIRI to capture to do items all the time and they automatically show up in Things inbox for processing.
• organizing to do items into projects and be able to assign headers within the list to group items
• tags for quick filtering
I also use the mobile app, which makes reviewing and adding on-the-go easy, but I mainly work with Things on my computer for major planning
Inconvénients
I use Things daily and I honestly don't have any criticisms. I only hope the developers don't start adding features which dilutes the amazing functionality and ease it has now.

Things is a GODSEND!
I love THINGS.
Avantages
Where do I start? Things has changed my entire workflow, in every aspect of my life. Groceries, Purchases, Savings, Financials, Work Tasks, Family Tasks, Caring for My plants, Life goals, travel, Budgets, Client Management...the lists go on. It is such a beautiful, well thought out product, that is worth every single penny and then some. On top of a beautiful seamless integrated cross-platform experience, you get independent cloud sync, recurring tasks, projects, archive, logbook, save for later, inbox, areas, sub-task within tasks, amazing drag and drop on mobile devcies. This application is PERFECT.
Inconvénients
That more people do not use it because of cost, and that isn't the software companies fault. If they would somehow maybe make the cost more universal to do a full platform buy-in, I'd be behind that, but honestly I paid for it full price across every device because it is that good.

Makes you want to complete your tasks just so you can use it
Things makes my team more efficient and organised. We know what to do and what are the next steps to achieve our goals for the day.
Avantages

- well designed: simple, yet very powerful
- easy to organise your lists and to see your day ahead

Things is clean, well-designed, and has essentially ever feature I need for a to-do app
Avantages
Things is clean, well-designed, and has essentially ever feature I need for a to-do app.
In general, I think this is a great app. Additionally, they've recently updated it to allow for deep-linking of some sort, however I haven't had the time to dig into that further and see what additional functionality it brings with it.
Finally, the design is great. it's clean, it's white. it's simple. You can't beat that - in the day when all apps seem to add in way too many colors, shadows, etc. and overdo it in my opinion. This one hits the mark.
Inconvénients
The pricing structure isn't the greatest. Annual plans have never sat well with me as they don't allow for flexible lifestyles. My tech habits change much more often than annually, for example, and I'd like to onboard and offload apps accordingly.

Beautiful, intuitive, wonderful experience
Avantages
I adore pretty much everything about this app. Task creation and management is so simple, with intuitive gestures at the forefront and powerful features tucked underneath when you need it. The experience between Mac, iPhone, and iPad is consistent and absolutely delightful.
If you have a lot of projects up in the air and want a simple way to track and manage them, absolutely get Things. It doesn't have all of the bells and whistles of some kitchen sink apps, but it's all the better for the restraint it shows.

Things has changed my life.
Avantages
Initially, I had a hard time coughing up the high-price tag for the Things Suite. But after using the Trial and seeing how it not only cleaned up my notes, calendars, and email accounts I was sold. I literally organize my entire life with Things. Financials, Products, Reviews, Clients, Software, Groceries, Donations, Vacations, Artwork, Blog posts, you name it, it's in things.
Inconvénients
I have really no complaints about the software, except one minor hiccup that may or many not be an obvious feature set, you can leave blank "to-do" entries in the software, I'd rather have it disappear if there is no content detected.
