Avantages

This software is fantastic for documenting tutoring sessions and keeping track of payments from clients and to tutors. If they roll out the UK features of split disbursement and lower credit card fees using a native payment within the app to the US it will be even better.

The API and API support is also excellent

Inconvénients

The calendar synch is one-way and delayed. That may not be a big deal for a brick-and-mortar tutoring business using employed tutors. However for my use case (100% virtual tutoring using independent tutors using different calendars and meeting software) the lack of an effective calendar synch means many of the scheduling and availability "features" are actually in the way and confusing to clients. We can only use tutor cruncher on the "backside" of the appointment to document and charge. As an example of a feature that is desperately needed, the availability needs to be able to automatically update when a tutor schedules something on their personal calendar (similar to Google Calendar appointments). As it stands a tutor would need to constantly manage their tutor cruncher availability. It just isn't worth it for tutors who are doing this part time.

Another issue is that there is currently no way to have fields that only a tutor sees but are uneditable for the tutor. I would love to communicate various poliies and information to turtors inside their TutorCrucnher accounts, but tutro custom fields are editable by the tutor. Seems like a a relatively simple function to no include.

The synchronisation of the lessons, students and clients to invoicing and scheduling.

The flexibility to handle smaller businesses. There is a lot of extra settings I had to turn off and do not use that would only benefit me if I were a bigger team or business.

Once automation is set up, clients enjoy getting regular updates and tutors enjoy having access to client information without having to contact us.

Inconvénients

Customer support needs to help us fix our specific issues within the system instead of giving generic options based on the User Guide. We still have things set up the way that we would like for them to be because getting answers from support took so long and they never went into our account specifically to assist us. Our support person ([SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN]) quit responding to us and then [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] (who is nice, but not as informed) tried to help and ended up causing more confusion and delays.

Avantages

Ability to use TutorCruncher as the main central point-of-truth for your tutoring database. Split payments are nice too, expecially to stay compliant!

Inconvénients

Thier tech-team seem to be stretched at times, bug fixes can take some time, which can be stressfull when you're waiting on a fix to resolve issues with your own business' clients.

Would be nice to see some automation/workflow tools.

The ease of getting jobs out to potential tutors, the way we can set up new clients. our record of seeing clients and invoicing them.

Inconvénients

When a tutor applies for a job, but has questions, I cannot reply back to them. I would like a way to respond to their questions directly from tutor cruncer

Avantages

It's easy to use, well integrated with other products and brings the tutors, clients and students together in one space.

Inconvénients

I don't like that we are unable to mark students as dormant the way we can with clients. I know that we can create a label to mark them as dormant but this is not the same.

Avantages

Ease of use. We like that tutors can reschedule sessions easily.

Inconvénients

We want more flexibility in setting reminders or alerts for administrators.

Absolutely superb software that enables me to grow my tuition business, and to run things so smoothly! Raashi and the team are always so helpful!

I love how automated it is. It's taken a lot of the admin tasks off my shoulders. A platform that truly understands the tutoring industry.

It takes some getting used to. I'm still finding my way around some of the features.

It has everything in one place! Saves me from hours of admin in the long run. The priority support chat is also very useful and has detailed and speedy responses. I also love the automated emails and split payments feature!

Lack of flexibility in custom fields e.g. custom institutions (not just educational ones) when creating a tutor's profile, and not being able to get rid of the 'other' category when creating subjects (i.e. it'd be ideal to create new subjects without it having to fall in this category!)

Avantages

The ability for tutors to do their own invoicing and split payments work well and keep us below the VAT threshold.

Inconvénients

The customer service is terrible. The agents try their best, but language barriers seem to be an issue. The questions don't get answered fully the first time round, there is a lot of back and forth until the agent understands what you mean, often you figure out the answer yourself in the process (by elimination) and I have been given wrong information in the past, such as that it is possible to split payment three ways - it is not!! This then caused issues with tutor payments. It would be good if this feature was available, it looks like it should be - but then it doesn't work with Stripe.

Highly customisable and scalable software bespoke for the tutoring, teaching and education industry

Inconvénients

There are always various feature requests as customers want enhancements to the product, but it's not clear when the updates can be expected. For example, I would like to export out a list of balance updates, which seems like a feature that is easy to implement, but this is not possible.

Very quick and easy to use with extensive help library. Tutors find found it simple to use, even those are not tech savvy. Queries are dealt with promptly by a very helpful team.

I do not have any major criticisms about TutorCruncher.

Cannot use local credit card processing services.

The tutors' availbility is amazing for communicating with tutors in different time zones.

Inconvénients

1. The calendar only shows one time zone, we need to switch every time in the setting.
2. If the calendar can be default set as showing 00:00-23:59, it would be best, because we need to manually press something to show more time on the calendar.

Avantages

TutorCruncher has streamlined my business by ensuring that all lessons are clearly accounted for, and that parents are able to review feedback in a timely manner.

Inconvénients

A bulk import of tutors and clients would be an incredible feature to save time for users. Unfortunately this has not been available and it has been very time consuming adding multiple students, clients and tutors to the system.

It is very user-friendly and easy for administrators, tutors, students and clients to use.

Some of the functions can be a little clunky and slow. Also, at times it can be confusing how there are a few different ways to do the same task.

I love the auto invoicing and the lesson reports option. It’s an amazing product.

Customer service and lack of training. The time difference between the US and the UK makes it difficult to get an immediate answer.

We love the ease of tutor matching, scheduling tutoring sessions, and sending invoices in TutorCruncher. It has saved us so much time compared to the system we used previously.

We wish that we were able to customize TutorCruncher more to fit our specific company's needs.

It took some time to get used to the functions especially with the flow of invoicing and who sets what. Also they don't have the ability for parents to pay for a set number of sessions ahead of time through the agency side,

We are not using the full functionality, but what we do use works well for our needs.

We cannot do the payments through TutorCruncher. This is not your fault, as our organization insists we use Shopify for invoicing. It just causes a lot of extra work for us. :-(
