The only con I can think of for Symantec Endpoint Protection is the cost of the software License. It can be costly but I think the cost out weights the benefits

This product has done a tremendous job for me for several years. The success I have had and the fact I have had no issues at all is what keeps me coming back. I use this on multiple devices.

If there are any problems that I can think of it would simply be the price. It's worth it because it has worked so well, but it's still tough to fork up the money.

Easy to understand how to install, setup, and use. No special training or skills needed. Protects our Macs and PCs from viruses, malware, and keeps the hackers out. I like the interface the most. Even the technically challenged can understand how to use it without the need to do a lot of reading.

Inconvénients

Greatly shortens battery life of laptops. Makes laptops run really hot. Slows the computer down. Makes older computer almost so slow they are unusable.

Easy to deploy to multiple devices from single console. Policies and upgrades can all be configured and deployed from a single console. I have been using Symantec EndPoint for several years on hundreds of sites and no outbreaks or issues. It was that good I started to think what isn't it finding so scanned with other AV products and my systems were clean.

Inconvénients

Support can be difficult at times. The firewall policy can be a little over whelming to non experienced users, but you could chose not to deploy that part.

This is a great product for our office because we have a wide range of users from those who feel very comfortable using a computer and those that honestly have no business on a computer.

For those in the office who either don't care or don't notice, the notification for an issue can be very subtle.

This program is a great for protecting our network. It makes me more comfortable handling sensitive information for our guests.

There really isn't anything I can complain about this program. It works great, and has never let us down. I think everyone who works on a network should install this software, for safe and secure work.

I like the feature that scans emails and files and protects them from alteration. Updates are constantly pushed to client machines to keep them secure.

Well it works. I habe been using it for ages on my old business PC ( Windows 7) for 5-6 years. Also on some virtual machines.
It is non intrusive Endpoint protection software with not too much options

It had the worst update "additional" app which worked for about 20% of time. It is heavy on resources.
Also i had some files i knew that had potential keyloger and virus infections, and this product did not detect them.

For a while there was a conflict with one of our other products but it seems to be resolved.

Pricing for 200+ computers is very low, when you can get the renewal to go through.

The software has multiple bugs that have developed in the past year. Since the acquisition by Broadcom, support has become inaccessible. Renewals are difficult and the website transition makes is hard to find any information or files.

It is completely out of your way once it is installed on your machine. Once on, you are given few, if at all, notifications outside of a little icon on your machine's toolbar if using a mac, or on the application icon on windows. Running a system check can be done with the click of a button.

Inconvénients

The software itself is very clunky. There is no protection "in the moment" (ie, no way to scan a file before downloading it). System checks are also painfully slow, despite being easy to initiate. Once completed, the analytics given are very vague, giving you guesswork if anything on your machine is compromised. Lastly, there is a very noticeable drop in battery life once the software is installed.

This software did an excellent job protection multiple stations within an enterprise. Any suspicious activity was flagged and it did a generally excellent job securing and protecting the stations. We didn't have any virus or threat activity occur during the period the software was used.

As a System Administrator in healthcare, Symantec has served our organization well. The server management interface is generally easy to use and navigate. Deploying the AV clients to PCs has been easy and generally trouble-free.
