User interface is great that I can scan and see the reports easily.

During scans I can't use other applications effectively from my computer.

We've used this for about 20 years now, and with every new computer and new version we've implemented, we've been pleased that the processing doesn't slow the computer down as much. It keeps our computer ssafe, is easy to pause when it happens to want to run at a very poor time.

Inconvénients

I wish it was more obvious when the program was running like a new badge in the taskbar or something, because it's not always clear; it would be good to know so that you can pause it at a time where you can not sacrifice processing speed. You have to open the system first to check and see if it's another program causing delay.

I like that everything is secured with Symantec. It is a very solid tool for keeping your data protected. I also think that it is great that has embedded all the features neccesary for protection as in anti malware, firewall protection and also for intrusion prevention. That way you surely know you are protected.

For me it wasn't that user friendly as other application resembling it.

Symantec is one of the most known counter malware companies and we decided to give it a try. I don't know if it's a placebo effect, but somehow we feel more secure. Once in a while virus detection or an intrussion attack prevention notification arrives through email and that makes us feel that way.
It is easy to manage and policies can be created just in a few clicks.

Inconvénients

Users with non admin privileges can confirm the execution of blocked apps. Oh Lord! That should not be able happen.

It automatically scans continuously to keep you protected and also has weekly thorough scans (just in case something was missed)

It is much better than previous versions however it can still hog resources. It is at an acceptable level now compared to older verisons.

It is doing a perfect job and it works more than antivirus. I love its ability of doing scan quickly. Another plus point is that security updates occur from time to time.

I am having all positive experience with this product. Truly speaking I could not find any downsides of this product. I am totally satisfied with this tool. I am having nothing to complain about it.

Symantec Endpoint Protection is the most reliable and stable software used frequently for protecting viruses or malware. The biggest benefit is that it keeps us notified whenever there is any threat. Furthermore, it helps us a lot in monitoring security status, various activities particularly authorization and authentication.

I have been using this software for many years but I never face any sort of problem while using this. I feel happy and satisfied to use this product. There is not anything that needs to be modified.

This AV is one of the easiest I've installed, especially on a domain. It can push itself out and uses domain credentials to install onto the computers.

Unfortunately, this AV is a bit of a memory hog. It can slow down older PCs significantly during definition updates and scans. Scanning itself is slower than some of the competition as well.

The best part about this software . . it's like having a big brother watching over you all the time. It runs in the background. And now a days, having something automatic is great. Trying to remember all of your typical day to day tasks is hard enough. Great job on this design. Let's you know right away if you are not protected or if an "intruder" is attempting to do something bad. Easy to install and easy to use.

Cons . . hmm . . well . . I guess knowledge is the downfall. The description of the 'medium' threats is pretty basic. Not sure if I should be concerned or not but overall, if this thing is on . . I am not worried! :) So Cons is a tough to write about.

Symantec Endpoint Protection is one point solution for providing security from Malware, Viruses, Network Intrusions and most important for IT hardware (Including Computers and Server), it prevents ransomware attacks. firewall is sturdy and really easy to manage, Central console for managing systems and updates and most important it is not taxing on Computer resources. We are using to manage handful of Computers really effectively.

From view of protecting clients there are absolutely no issues/cons. Only thing plague this software which i feel is up-gradation process i.e. from lower to higher version, there are strict protocols to be followed for successful implementation (Updates).

The product is much lighter on resources. It is accurate and very rarely has false-positives. It is easy to configure and automatically updates itself in random intervals.

Symantec End Point Protection can border on the paranoid. Every time an aspect is updated (whether an executable or otherwise), Symantec always prompts you if "you want <the Product> to access the network?" If you answer NO accidentally, then critical systems could be affected.in random intervals further freeing up resources.

I like the fact once it's set up, you don't have to do much after that, at most the occasional update. Our company uses it for several applications, and various reasons. We monitor all activity coming in, as well as going out.

As much as it's a plus, the fact you can set it to administrators or people with access can calibrate it can sometimes be a headache.

From a user's perspective, Symantec VIP provides an easy way to achieve multi-factor authentication. I was not involved in the selection or setup (it was handled by our IT on a company-wide scale) so am unsure how that aspect of usage is.

When accessing corporate data on my mobile device (Outlook, Skype, etc), my organization still requires multi-factor authentication which requires me to have my PC on with VIP open to get the code. There is an option to have it on your mobile device instead (I believe this is mutually exclusive with having it on your PC), but I hesitate to do this for fear of having my access coupled with two points of failure.

File scanning is extremely heavy-handed when it comes to file transfer, which is faster with Bitdefender/Ivanti. Sometimes SEP got interfered with Windows updates, in particular Windows 10 despite the fact it's compatible with Windows 10.

We have used Endpoint Protection for many years with minimal issues. We moved to the hosted version last year which has made deployment and management even easier and eliminated the need for a dedicated server.

System resource usage tends to be excessive, particularly at system startup and initial login. User control from the desktop is fairly minimal which can make troubleshooting an issue on the rare occasion it's necessary.

I have been using this software for many years and have never had a virus or Trojan. This software has kept my PC safe over the years and has proved to be reliable.

Inconvénients

I would like the live update to make a pop up with the statement that the definitions are current if they are out of date. I like the fact that everything works behind the scenes but I would rather know that everything has been updated.

It is nice that the entire disk is protected. That way, if my laptop is stolen, I don’t have to worry about my companies confidential data getting in the wrong hands.

The software is super annoying with larger git repositories as it scans every single file. Git repositories often have thousands of files in hidden folders which Symantec uses a lot of resources to scan every single file. Whole security exceptions can be made, it is often hard to get exceptions granted within the company.

The original solution, Symantec Hosted Endpoint, was pretty good, easy to manage and effective cloud antivirus solution

When Symantec Hosted Endpoint migrated to Broadcom Endpoint Protection, the solution became a nightmare. The migration process was very confusing and we completely abandoned our Hosted Endpoint seats due to lack of support.

This software has a small footprint, has very low false positive notification and is particularly very effective protecting against malware using machine learning.
Another thing is that it's not intrusive. It works in the background and you usually don't know it's there.

Inconvénients

One negative aspect of this software is the interface. It looks dated and definitely needs some improvements.
Another is the reporting as it seems limited and clunky when compared to that of rival products
