Monograph est un outil de gestion de projet basé sur le cloud computing conçu pour aider les ingénieurs, les architectes, les décorateurs d'intérieur et les professionnels en aménagement paysager à gérer l'ensemble du cycle de vie des projets, de l'élaboration des budgets et de la planification des ressources au suivi de l'état des tâches et à la gestion des dépenses en temps réel. Cette solution en ligne est vraiment dotée de tous les outils nécessaire pour aider les entreprises d'architecture à gérer leur temps, s'organiser, prévoir leurs chantiers, planifier leurs projets grâce à un outil calendrier très performant et facturer leurs clients.De plus, le programme s'améliore en permanence, innovant en termes de fonctionnalités et annonçant régulièrement de nouvelles mises à jour. Enfin, Monograph permet d'effectuer un excellent suivi de projets avec, entre autres, la fonctionnalité jalons. Ainsi, la répartition des tâches est réalisée de façon fluide entre chaque membre d'un projet et il est facile de s'assurer de leur réalisation. Monograph is the bestest in the westest! :)

Fantastic!!!! I I think that this the way that it was built makes it cross-industry applicable. I could see myself in another industry and recommending that they implement this service.

Avantages

User friendliness. A++ We have many age ranges, and this interface is so well designed that even the older crowd is able to jump onboard easily.

Inconvénients

The insurance companies with the payroll services. Monograph is great, but those other companies that are tied in with the additional services are quite lacking in their turnaround times and communication.

After a little over a year...

Overall, it is functional, easy to use, but is a work in progress. Not sure what we would switch to though as those changes in software are not painless! Interested in seeing what this product is like in a few years.

Avantages

Interface is very intuitive, time tracking is almost always correct. Integration with QBO is important to us, as QBO has been our rock with regard to bookkeeping/accounting. Monograph is continuing to be developed and enhanced.

Inconvénients

Support at first was great when we first signed up and was very responsive, and issues were generally settled immediately. Quite a bit slower and more elusive now, and there is no community forum or easy way we have found to interact with others users to pick their brains and gain from their experience in resolving questions or issues. Invoicing requires the review of multiple tabs simultaneously, and we have suggested a way to combine much (or all) of this information on the financial tab, but nothing has been done yet. Have found just a couple of errors, one leaving off consultant work and previously invoiced amounts - noted a couple of months ago, and understand they are still working on this.

It has been good, I am still learning what it can or can't do.

Avantages

The features for building out project fee, and schedule. How that translates into a Gantt chart, and how you can allocate fee / time by % to staff members.

Inconvénients

Need's some further iteration's to refine the staffing chart. We have to keep rebalancing hours for every person, for every phase, for every project. Should be able to do in one click.

Monograph Review

Avantages

I enjoy everything that Monograph has to offer; however, what I enjoy the most is the milestone management. This has been a game-changer for our office. We have a distinctive dashboard display of all milestones that need to be completed that week. I can customize these and change them when needed. Plus, this is a great visualizer for our clients to understand their project timeline better.

Great software and easy to use

Very positive, and although there is plenty of room for improvement, I do notice that there are often new features being introduced, which I greatly appreciate.

Avantages

It is very user friendly and easy to learn how to use. It does not take much time to onboard new employees. It's staffing/scheduling feature is great too.

Inconvénients

I would like to see more metrics for each project. Namely profit margin, as the numbers I see under the profit margin for each project seem way off. It would be nice to understand how those numbers are calculated. It would also be nice if Monograph could provide a cost rate for each employee. I would also like to be able to enter PTO time available to each employee, which would also help provide a better picture of their cost rate and therefore the profit margin on projects. It would also be nice to be able to see at what pace we are consuming the fee for projects, and how we should alter staff hours accordingly.

Monograph is Great!

I love Monograph and would recommend to anyone in the field. I think it is pretty user friendly and easy to understand where project status and finances stand. The color coding and layout of the Gant sheet is great! Invoicing is a breeze as well as timesheet management.

Avantages

I love the layout and color options. It is visually pleasing to start, and pretty easy to use once you get acquainted with the program. Easy for all staff to use, and helps us manage our time better.

Inconvénients

Project reports and employee performance reports could be better and easier to read. We have some discrepancies when it comes to profit and loss, so we refer to our QuickBooks online for that information.

Monograph Review

There was definitely a learning curve at the beginning, but [sensitive content hidden] was able to greatly assist in this area, and having everyone onboard in the office also helped us transition from our old software.
I would say that we are definitely happy with moving to Monograph.

Avantages

That is gives great visibility on our projects for management and staff. The invoicing function is also a bonus since it allows you to customize the amounts each month.

Inconvénients

I would like to see improvements in the reports features - they need to be more customizable and available as a PDF. I would also like to see the customer service area expanded so that we can call and speak to a representative and share our screen to problem solve.

A solid software with responsive dev team

Avantages

Intuitive and easy to use, very responsive development team that incorporates requests quickly.

Inconvénients

Rapid updates to the software make it hard to keep projects tidy, as protocols for invoices can change mid-project. You can't customize the look of your invoice almost at all.

Great Bang for your Buck

So far so good. We have had a few issues when setting up the system but the customer service was really good.

A powerful ally in your companies arsenal

Overall, Monograph is powerful partner that we are happy to use on a daily basis

Avantages

Creates an overall simplified and centralized means of tracking, recording, and achieving project(s) and company needs.

Inconvénients

There are several tools and features of which could be tuned for easier more intuitive use by all. For example, the time tracker. It is often abandoned because of this, yet, holds great potential to not only do its' surface value job, but, as well keep employees more consistent with their hours of work and how that is being applied to projects or internal office activities. This would additionally alleviate stress and anxiety (for all admin and employees) related to submitting timesheets when they are due and accurately.

Outstanding Software and Company

Avantages

I love how comprehensive Monograph is. You don't have to spend a ton of time "finding" features; it is mainly common sense! The gantt charts are easy to understand at a glance, and for normal employees the software makes it very simple to keep track of your time and expenses. Highly recommend this software.

Inconvénients

We do wish we could customize our invoices a bit more. As an architecture firm, we are laser-focused on all material that goes out from our firm - including invoices. These are a little basic in terms of aesthetic, but I know Monograph is working on implementing more capabilities regarding this. Not a big complaint at all!

A super user-friendly, functional, time and project management option for Architects

We're honestly just getting started, but the company seems very approachable and open to building in features as required. I like the flexibility and nimbleness that they're offering. It's an EASY to understand interface as well.. and that's just the BEST.

Avantages

I was really looking for a time tracking and project management tool for our Architects and PM's to be able to actively see how their hours are tracking against contract budgets. Every month, we were using exported xls spreadsheets to review time already spent - and every month, I'd notice that we'd be coming up short on projects. Their "money gantt" feature allows all employees to see how they're tracking on project's profitability in real-time. It's a great tool for both employees and employers to keep everyone on track.

Inconvénients

It's young... meaning that some of the features are still being implemented and developed. However, that's not necessarily a bad thing. New features are coming fast. Integration of customer feedback seems to happen quickly.

First impressions....

The benefits are wonderful and I'm really really excited about the program. All of our employees can immediately see the benefit of integrating time management/hours spent on a project with general project management, milestones, and tasks.

Avantages

The most impactful part of Monograph has been the project schedule and forecasting. Seeing what we have under contract and seeing the duration of those projects is going to greatly help manage our team and properly set expectations for our clients.
I also really love the milestones and task application where we can assign things for people to do and then have a dialog about those things within each project and make sure they have been completed.

Inconvénients

The biggest thing we would like to see change is how project fees are structured. At the moment, it is best set up for fixed fee projects, but all of our contracts are set up with three different fee types: hourly- not to exceed, hourly with no cap, and fixed.
It would be helpful to have some customization to the fee structure that can then get assigned to the different phases.
For the projects themselves, I would like to see the tasks and milestones be more present on the project overview page and when you navigate to the individual phase of a project, I would like to see the milestones and tasks that are in that phase and be able to add more within that page rather than have to navigate to a separate page that does not show me the gantt chart/schedule.

I'm not sure how the expenses tracking feature would really work for us and currently don't see using it. None of our employees generate expenses. Any expenses for a project mostly come in the form of reimbursables (consultants, printing, permitting fees, etc.).

A dream down the road would be some integration with Slack that sends a notification to individuals or channels dedicated to that project to notify them of assigned tasks, deadline reminders, etc.

A Young Architect's Appreciation for Monograph

Avantages

It's clearly a product made by and for Architects. When well-used, it helps young designers like myself better understand fees and project timelines in relation to fees.

Inconvénients

Not much. I honestly couldn't think of many ways to improve it from a user experience but I think administrators at the firm have had more challenges with the interface.

As said above, we haven't taken full advantage of it...and this has been expensive for us. But we can't really afford to change to another platform at this point.

Avantages

I like the idea of Monograph, but so far we haven't been able to take full advantage of it. So it's a very expensive timesheet app. I don't know why it's been so hard for us to take off on it.

Inconvénients

Really need a phone app. I would like more customization options. Colours, graphics, etc. Especially to differentiate projects.
I often don't get around to plugging my numbers in...an app to do this would be really helpful.

The time tracking feature billed against the project at a billable rate. This makes the time/money connection and helps plan efforts.

Inadequate

I have found that I track my time so much less regularly with monograph than I had been using with a competitive software. That shows how clunky and unfriendly the interface is.

Avantages

That it’s a small start up company is desirable.

Inconvénients

Get an app for crying out loud! The web browser on a phone is dreadful. Time tracking should be an easy process. I liked jumping onto an app on my phone while on a bus home at the end of the day and I just can’t do it with Monograph. I have to be at a desk to use the software and even then it’s clunky and not intuitive.

It has really improved our ability to manage the business side of our firm

Avantages

1. Very nice graphical interface which makes it easier to use than other products with similar features
2. Monograph as a company is very open and transparent about the improvements they are working on and are always eager to get constructive feedback.

Using Monograph to Track Payroll and Project Status

I've listed a lot of this under "pros" above, but in essence I'm very happy with Monograph so far for setting up projects, phases and using the time sheets. With a little time and effort I've figured out how to use much of it on my own and anything I didn't understand I was able to get help with from the wonderful Monograph support staff through articles or actually email and chat.

Avantages

I really like how fully customizable Monograph is for a small architecture firm. I'm still learning how to use everything. As a new Monograph user it's refreshing to reach out and ask for help and get the correct answer to all my questions in a timely fashion by email or through chat. Monograph has amazing support staff! At this point we're using it mostly for time sheets to log payroll hours but moving forward, knowing how long a certain task took to to perform previously will help us assign tasks to employees and strategize payroll hours more effectively. Bottom line, we can certainly see if we're charging clients enough to cover the time the work takes .

Recently, I received an email notifying me that Monograph has made changes to the features based on my feedback. What company does that?!? I'm very Impressed!

Inconvénients

Our business has been using Excel for time sheets with a set form to fill payroll hours out on. Monograph is a bit more "free form" reflecting tasks being performed both routine and "one off" as we add these items to the interface. Originally, I found it a bit daunting to dive in with Monograph because of this lack of structure when rigid structure was what I was used to. For some users this might not even be an issue.

A great tool for Architects and Building Designers

I have now used Deltek PIM (previously Union Square) and Workflow MAX in my career, Monograph hands down beats these both these software packages for ease of use and aesthetics.

Avantages

The ease of use, and powerful functionality is fantastic in Monograph. Having software that allows quick assessment and understanding of project status is what its all about!

Inconvénients

I would like more control over projects through a contact database and the ability to assign Clients and Consultants to specific projects so we can quickly access their contact details and assign tasks to individuals outside our firm.
