Zen of rollbar
It's awesome to know about the error as they occur but it's not cost friendly. Your are one faulty release away from getting bombarded for same errors.

Rollbar is ok for what it does
Avantages
It solves a necessary problem. I can view all the errors from multiple hosts on to 1 view and see trends from this information.
Inconvénients
It really is not ergonomic to use. I really don't like the UI. The new one seems to make things too aggregated

This is a amazing product
This is a very good product and plays a big role in life cycle of software. The debugging becomes so much easier with the help of this tool.
Avantages

Rollbar is good but two features are there which I like the most,
1. RQL - It helps us to query the data and find the similarity on the errors so that we can solve them.
2. Tracking of errors.

Old UI experience is easy and better than new one!
Ability to see what is going wrong and hook that with other tools to get notification helps us to fix the issue as soon as possible. Ability to send custom properties to get more visibility into the error is a great solution to diagnose the problem.

The new UI is complex to use than the use one. The old UI is very straightforward; you choose a project and done! I reverted back to the old UI

Avantages
Rollbar comes in four editions, Free, Essentials, Advanced and Enterprise, so depending on which edition you find to be suitable for your budget and you can start with the free edition so that you get the feel on how it works. If you are programmer and you are looking for a suitable partner to help you with coding, fast error tracking allowing you to take note of the errors.
Inconvénients
The interface can be a little bit complicated but in due one can get used with it.

It's good for someone like me - a customer-facing employee of a tech company - to identify which user is experiencing an error
Avantages
I like that i can see exactly when a user experienced an issue and can drill down into how many time it's occurred in the past.
Inconvénients
Im not sure if this is unique to my company or not, but sometimes it' difficult to read as a non-engineer. It would be cool to have a summary aspect!

When configured properly, this tool allows multiple layers of teams to troubleshoot. Often, our Tier 2 is able to discover an issue along with DevOps, and assist customers in real time without needing elevated access to another system.
Inconvénients
Searching issues can be difficult at time. Some of the advanced search features require more syntax than should be necessary.

Very useful for client side JS debugging
Avantages
The telemetry feature, allowing me to see all user actions on the page which led to the error is extremely helpful. It's also very easy to set up.
Inconvénients
My usage of the product has been limited enough that I haven't found any significant drawbacks. One minor gripe I have is when viewing a list of all occurrences of an item, I often mistakenly click the "request.uri" link when I want to get more details about that occurrence. It is almost never my intention to go to the page on which the error occurred.

The ease of getting data into rollbar, and extracting meaningful information out of rollbar's dashboard.
Inconvénients
The few times I've wanted to programmatically fetch information about all errors in a project it's not been trivial. It's possible with the API and the right queries via RQL, but it'd be nicer if there was a quicker way to export such data.

The slack integration is the best. The full stack trace is a really nice feature which helps us to easily identify the actual issue.

Well I think the number of hits somehow gets too much and quota is filled pretty soon, even when I am not sure if I got that many error

Great Monitoring Tool
Avantages
We have been using Rollbar for over a year now and it has been really helpful for our engineering team.
One of the best features is the solutions tab which provides community answers to common problems.
Highly recommended.
Inconvénients
Free plan is just not enough for bootstrapping startups. I wished there was some sort of pay as you go model.

Great error tracking software
I'm using Rollbar since 2014, and it's the greatest tool for track errors into my RoR application. It says to me when an error happen, where and who. I saved a lot of money thanks to rollbar, 100% recommended.

Great product for peace of mind
Avantages
It is so easy to install that you almost forget that you have ti; not until your web service has exceptions do you realize you have it. Give me peace of mind knowing that I don't have to be actively looking at logs to look for errors, I'll get notified when they occur.

Avantages
Easy to use interface with list of errors. It'll group similar errors together. I like the option to link to a case (e.g. JIRA) for each error. It was pretty easy to setup in our app too.
Inconvénients
Sometimes it is hard to sift through all the errors and determine which ones are high priority.

Rollbar does what it claims
Despite some of the sluggishness, it has greatly decreased our error identification and debugging time.
Avantages
The ability to mute error messages, especially recurrent messages like 404 errors, became a great help when attempting to monitor errors in production code. At this point, every error we get from Rollbar is something that needs to have action taken upon it.
Inconvénients
The software can be sluggish; It's impossible to navigate on my phone. It will literally crash a browser phone.

Avantages
The Occurrence info is very helpful. Since it's rolling up all the similar exceptions and giving the info of when the issue has happened, IP's impacted etc are very useful. We can get the impact of the bug/issue and helps us to prioritize.
Inconvénients
The only thing that I can think of is having some sort of zoom in and zoom-out functionality in the bar chart that is shown on Occurrence tab. It would be easier if there are cluster of errors in small period of time. Right now, both 24 hr and 60 day bar charts are static. It would be nice to have feature but overall I like the tool for troubleshooting.

1. Reporting all exceptions and errors
We just add simple Rollbar code and it catches all unhandled exceptions. Very useful and simple feature, that we use.
2. Custom error reporting.
We add some asserts on the most complex part of the code, to catch potential logic errors at the very beginning.
3. Real-time log.
When you have to test the production. Instant error logging helps save time.
4. Assign Owner
Each error can be assigned to the developer and can be marked as resolved when done. Very useful.
5. RQL Console
The new tool, it allows us to create detail data queries.
Very powerful tool for the analysis of problem areas in our code.
Inconvénients
Price plans based on the number of requests. But if your project didn't have a lot of errors all looks good.

Reliable Exception Handling
I switched to Rollbar as an alternative for my side projects since Logentries doesn't offer a free tier. Logentries has a complicated, real-time UI. Sometimes that UI can feel a bit laggy if you've got a lot of logs coming in. Rollbar doesn't have this kind of complex UI so it feels faster and simpler. I'm beginning to prefer it over Logentries.
Avantages
The ability to know which user experienced a problem when using the software before the user reports the bug. Combining that with the debug information, I'm empowered to follow up with the user about the problem notifying them of a potential fix even when they never submitted a bug report.
Inconvénients
I love the free plan, but the next plan they offer is $30/mo. I wish there were more side-project-friendly pricing options. $30/mo for a project I host for free and is open source is a bit much.

I really like to be able to go into the history of errors, checking them and discovering if they were already happened in the past. It replaced completely email-based error notifications

Quick and easy setup to identify bugs in realtime
We were looking for a solution to find out about all the errors our customers experienced but never informed us about. Rollbar bridges that gap between the errors and our development. We get notified immediately of issues with the site and can remediate before others experience it too. Another great feature is the community solutions. Instead of having to Google each error there is expert solutions provided in the interface. It is definitely a nice touch. Maybe in future for when there isn't a solution it could provide some google links etc. Overall love the product and can't wait to fix all the errors it is finding. The javascript code was easiest to implement for browser issues. The only issue I have now is getting it setup for the PHP tracking. We were able to get this setup without any developers so I imagine it will be easier for a dev to get the PHP error tracking.

So far Rollbar it's a must-have on all other software implementations to keep track of bugs.
Avantages
We like Rollbar because it helps us to keep track of every error on our production application, have a great user interface to work with and its affordable similar services.
Inconvénients
A kanban view will be very help full to have a good way to keep order or prioritize the errors that need to get fix. So far the integration with bitbucket have help us to track the development of the fix for the errors.
