Square payments is awfully intuitive, probably the most learnable and quick to use platform of them all. They feature native integrations to any phone or computer you use. The app can even take payments on iPhone without a POS system. It is a UI dream and even keeps payments engaging and fun. Since they are a big company they have multiple lines of support, and ever adding features.

Inconvénients

Square payments is expensive, I would say the most expensive of them all. I only lasted 3 months using their service. I was roped in by the ability to accept tap to pay on my iPhone without the need for equipment. However, the fees per transaction were getting up to 2.75% each, with additional fees for instant deposit into bank account. On $10,000 I paid Square about $400 in fees out of my hard earned revenue.

I love that square is synced with my booking software, it makes accdepting payment seamless and paperless.

The service fee's could be lower, that is my only issue.

Square payments is very easy to use and includes all compliance so you don't have to worry about doing PCI verifications. The ability to invoice clients is great and I love that it will automatically send reminders which saves me time. It integrates wonderfully with my patient charting/scheduling system so that I don't have to switch to the actual square dashboard and can do everything in one program.

Inconvénients

I really disliked using the contactless card reader. It never had a stable connection to my phone and I was always having to manually enter credit card information (which Square charges more for). I have since purchased a terminal which I love but the hardware was quite pricey.

I least like that when using square through third party apps like Acuity, my clients don’t have the ability to add tips to their payment. I have to open the app separately and bill their card on file that way for them to add tips.

Square had a better backend office that not only looked better but was more intuitive for me to use. I didn’t have to waste time trying to figure out how to do something or get to a specific feature.

Square payments has been very easy to use - I have been taking payments through Square since before the pandemic and have run into very few issues unlike with other platforms.

had initial difficulty when switching from chip to tap - cleared up very quickly, though

I like being able to have all my main services on an easy-access display. I also like that the Square Reader is small and slick, it's easy to travel with.

Inconvénients

Had I known that you could simply ask clients to tap their cards to your phone to accept payments, I might not have bought the Square Reader. Being in the process of starting up a business, I have tried to make sure every expense made is justified.
The Square Reader is however good to have and makes things look a little more professional - at least, that is how I'm justifying buying it!
