Avantages

Real time data and being able to customize easily in excel.

Inconvénients

Pulling in data for large files can take a while if there are a lot of formulas and if you have the automatic calculation turned on, it will refresh even if you didn't want it to.

Avantages

I spend less time mining data and more time analyzing the data. I use this for financial reporting and budgeting and any scenario I can think of or want to analyze, I'm able to build it into my spreadsheet and have it update the data based on the period I want to analyze.

Inconvénients

My only drawback is occassionally Spreadsheet Server loses a connection to my data and I have to contact support for a reboot. Which isn't inconvenient during the week, but support is not able to assist me on the weekends.

The ease of extracting data once the system is setup.

The upgrades are a bit too often and not convenient at times.

You can still use the basic excel features and combine it with bringing back values to create financials reporting. Out of the box financials from ERP's don't always have the most robust look and feel.

It can be slow at times if you have many values from many ledgers coming back into your report.

The ease in which I can create reports and do on the fly analysis.

There isn't much. The only drawback is change control. Since it is an add-in to Excel, anyone can go in and change a report. Also, you have to touch every report if a change is made. This is definitely a minor drawback, as there are ways to implement controls.

Avantages

Once you set up your spreadsheets this is a great tool that is able to give real time data in the formats we want to us. We are on Deltek VantagePoint and this is next level for creating our graphs and tracking financial performance.

Inconvénients

Getting a new computer can be time consuming for the setup. Adding functionality like budgets can also be a bit time consuming

Avantages

Spreadsheet server gives the control of report writing to accountants all within native Excel that we are all familiar with. Implementation was simple and quick and involved very little IT support. The tool is simple to use and only required a few hours of training to get everyone started on building their own reports.

Inconvénients

With Oracle Cloud our Oracle tables have to be replicated to a separate server. This means reporting isn't real time (but it is close).

Spreadsheet Server is a life saver when it comes to reporting results from our ERP system into Excel

Inconvénients

The only drawback is the amount of time it can take to update the connections. This is easily fixed by making sure you are on the latest version but sometimes you are unaware.

Avantages

It is easy to use. All the data and numbers are pulled into the spreadsheet within less than a minute. We use it on a daily basis, and we love it.

Inconvénients

Installing Spreadsheet Server for a new user or on a new laptop can be a challenging process. At times, the data doesn't pull in properly, or there are issues with entering the correct username. However, once the installation is completed successfully, everything works smoothly. If we encounter problems that we can't resolve on our own, we submit a ticket, and the representatives are always quick to provide assistance.

Avantages

Team has been using software for over 20 years, like the ease of use, easy plugin with excel. Anyone who used excel will find Spreadsheet Server easy to use.

Inconvénients

Probably not really a SSS issue, but sometimes really big advanced spreadsheets, with many formulas take to time to load and calculate.

Avantages

Easy to generate reports and build templates to customize reporting. Support staff is timely to respond back and extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I have worked with Dasharath many times and he has been very helpful and prompt to resolute.

Inconvénients

Can be a little slow performance wise, however the reports sometimes are very large and are calculating lots of data in the background so it is understood why.

Whenever there is an issue I can reach out to support and they are always very helpful at finding a quick resolution. The overall product makes it easy to grab information from other ERPs for a quick and simple way to do FP&A.

Inconvénients

Nothing particularly against spreadsheet server, but it is difficult to host on cloud platforms. Takes a little extra work, but is still achievable.

It was so easy to get set up and learn the rules. Spreadsheet Server minimizes the amount of time I have to spend in my ERP running multiple reports.

Some of the formulas aren't perfect for my needs, but because the tool is in excel, workarounds are easy to find.

I like the ease of the product. Before Duggan I had not used Spreadsheet Server. It was easy to learn and manipulate. I have been able to improve and make our financials visually appealing.

I wish the cost for some of the other features was not so much. We would like to use Spreadsheet Server for WIP but the cost is too much.
