Yodeck is easily deployed to multiple displays, where we used either the Yodeck App through a Google enabled TV or a Google Chromecast connected to a monitor. It supports a wide variety of contents, such as videos, slideshows, and allows easy scheduling and customising display behaviours.

Inconvénients

There is an ongoing monthly fee with Yodeck, which can slowly add up over time but the low implementation cost outweighs the ongoing subscription cost.

Very easy to setup. I'm using a super-cheap HP computer connected to a smart TV via HDMI. I was able to lock out all controls on the TV. The PC automatically boots into Yodeck and begins playing with no user intervention required. If we lose power, I get a notification and I get a reminder after a few hours of continued outage. This allows me to check on the player and make sure it recovered. The calendars are great for us as we can use it to display company paid holidays, requested overtime days, and to notify of scheduled outages. Showing KPIs via Powerpoint functionality works very well and really helps show our people what a difference they make in terms of production numbers and dollars. I also like being able to show some regular google news and espn news just so our people don't see it as a boring, static device with none of their interests.

Inconvénients

Instagram functionality seems to be not so good. It could be just me, but I have not been successful with this yet.

While the player will reboot itself after a power outage, the Yodeck software itself seems to not recover gracefully. Usually I have to manually reboot the PC on which its running after power is restored. If I don't, the TV will idle with the Yodeck splash screen but progress no further.

Avantages

Easy to use, manage and has a lot of features. Quick to deploy and the support has been excellent. The pricing is very reasonable.

Inconvénients

Some of the content, like a live traffic map required a good bit of tweaking to get the map zoom to display properly.

The media/layout editor can be annoying, and while it is user friendly, it is a bit too simple and you are better off using a PowerPoint or image slideshow for most use cases.

It is very easy to create layouts to display. I like that they provide an API so that a remote system may automatically perform functions that you might otherwise have to do manually using the YoDeck GUI.

Inconvénients

I dont like the ticker system to deal with support. It is difficult to open multiple tickets on different subjects at one time. I neve know when a question becomes part of an open ticket versus a new ticket or how to mark a ticket as resolved.

What I liked most about Yodeck is the flexibility and ease of deployment. We currently use Yodeck to display internal dashboards across our offices, and we plan to expand its use to our stores for product advertising. Both the pre-configured Raspberry Pi devices provided by Yodeck and our own RPi setups have worked flawlessly. The wide variety of media types and built-in apps is impressive and gives us a lot of freedom in what we can show. We’re on the Enterprise plan, which is very reasonably priced — especially considering it includes hardware.

Inconvénients

The layout editor could be more intuitive, especially when compared to some competitors. Additionally, while it’s possible to group media files, this grouping functionality is currently missing in other sections like Apps, Playlists, Layouts, Schedules, and Screens. That would really improve content management, especially at scale.

The ease of use. It's really easy for my organization to add media to our lounge screen.

We are using yodeck on a webplayer, so sometimes the player is lagy.

We love the interface and its very generous flexible options on using various media types for display without requiring special formatting (ie, PPT's Google Slides etc). Also provides very cost effective deployment using Fire TV Sticks. Best service for small businesses that require no hassle startup and almost zero maintenance.

Deploying video or animation within google slides can be challenging.

Ease of deployment and adminsitration. When deploying across multiple properties scattered across the US it is very simple to deploy and all devices are out of box ready to deploy.

Cost can be steep for some of the small properties.

The free plan for having only one screen as it let us get started easily without no upfront costs. This may motivate us to keep use the service if we choose to scale with more screens.

It did take some time to familiarize myself with the program but the actual installation process was super smooth. I thus believe that it will be a small learning curve for other volunteers to start upload and manage content.

Slight learning curve to figuring out how to make everything work but it wasn’t too bad. I like how scalable the platform is. If I want to turn this into a business I could for very little overhead.

I don’t like the name. As a customer I just happened to stumble across it, but the name doesn’t indicate what the platform does or who should use it. I would have liked to saved tons of research time by having your platform stand out a little more with a logical name. I know it sounds silly, but that is the truth.

I have used yodeck in two seprate applications at this point. One for a friend who has a Giant screen on the side of the road and one for myself at our Resort. I love how easy it is to set up and get going. Also the ability to manage the screen online from anywhere is really helpful and makes adding new material a breeze.

I'm currently running a bit into some issues with my raspberry pi mini w2. Not sure if it was my video file, internet connection, or that it's just a little bit to small for the task at hand.

Avantages

It's infinitely easier to use and higher quality than competitors. The free Raspberry Pi digital players were another key point in deciding to make the switch to YoDeck, these are very useful.

I had some trouble setting up the YoDeck players initially but that's because I put in the wrong wifi password when pre-configuring them at the factory. Overall, not a big deal, was an easy quick fix on site.

Avantages

Simplicity of interface and administration, reliability, professional quality of results. Having the first screen free gave us a good chance to evaluate the product, and now that our needs are expanding we're happy to support the company.

No obvious way of producing a multi-display wall, but that wasn't a deciding factor for me. Otherwise no issues.

I've been using Yodeck for years now for a looping display at various business locations, as well as a welcome screen in the lobby of our office building (showing hours, directory, announcements, weather, etc...)

Inconvénients

It's hard for me to come up with a con for Yodeck truly... It works great for digital signage and for my needs. I did have a need for an interactive kiosk setup, but found that Yodeck's options weren't going to be enough for what I needed to do, so I had to go a different route for my kiosk setup.

I like Yodeck because it allows testing from the browser and also provides a license for one free screen. Additionally, the annual license includes a player, and all this is offered without compromising the quality of connectivity services, videos, images, live streams, Power BI, etc.

I might like to have some more tools, but I see that they release updates every month.

It truly is very easy to learn. I've worked with a few different programs and players and Yodeck was the easiest to learn.

There are a limited number of templates in the layouts section, which isn't a huge drawback, but it is what I like least about Yodeck.

An easy to setup solution to present content in a globally operating environment with a centralized management capability.
The ability to use different media formats within one presentation makes it very user friendly. Within the admin dashboard all content is accessible and all devices can be reviewed within a few moments. The ability to schedule specific content for specific screens makes it pretty easy to stay on track to show what is needed and when it is needed.

So far, we did not find anything that we did not like, but we have not implemented all requested features yet.
