Inconvénients

The only thing I can think of would be the remote chance you need to update the players manually on location. If someone isn't comfortable with command line (they are Raspberry Pi players) then you might feel intimidated but Yodeck offers great support.

Setting this up for a client. They wanted something with a super easy interface that allowed for a non GenZ (LOL) to login and change. We tried all kinds of solutions. Narrowed it down to 3 after watchin interfaces for them. Looked at Yodeck first... never went to the rest. The free account with our own player really sold it.

Not much really. The basic price point was a killer deal vs the others. There wasn't pricing listed for whitelabelling it without filling it a form to get sales to bug us. So I can't tell much about the aspect of management of all clients.

Yodeck is easily deployed to multiple displays, where we used either the Yodeck App through a Google enabled TV or a Google Chromecast connected to a monitor. It supports a wide variety of contents, such as videos, slideshows, and allows easy scheduling and customising display behaviours.

There is an ongoing monthly fee with Yodeck, which can slowly add up over time but the low implementation cost outweighs the ongoing subscription cost.

I love the GUI that makes everything so easy to use and update. The site is responsive and the controls are logical. Once you understand the apps/media/playlist connection, you're off to the races.

If you need digital signage, Yodeck makes it so easy. Yes, you could DIY it for cheaper, but I love their platform and dedicated support. All I have to do is focus on the creative side. Also, it's extremely advanced yet approachable, and our business will enjoy implementing the more advanced features over time. Currently, we operate a small cafe, food truck, and clothing brand, and we use the Yodeck players to control four different screens (two digital menus and two branded content displays. We upload our own custom content, but if we didn't have a design team, using their pre-built layouts would be just as good.

Inconvénients

The layout editor is pretty amazing; however, having the ability to load custom fonts would be a game-changer. We get around that by uploading all our final designs and menus from Adobe and just uploading them to the Yodeck platform, but it would be amazing if we could stay on brand using their layout editor as well. There is a lack of integrations with Squareup and other POS services for menu data control.

We found the setup fairly easy to use and we were up and running in no time. As a charity, we needed a cost-effective solution on a limited budget to help us get messages to our members and visitors and provide a potential ad revenue channel.

Yodeck was simplistic to design and deploy content with. We were extremely happy with our initial tests.

Yodeck for me is a system that I have now implemented into 2 schools that I have worked at as part of the IT Team. It has always been reliable for a team to manage, and the flexibility that Yodeck provides, personally, makes it come out above its competitors.

The reason I continue to use Yodeck and would recommend it is that it is continually supporting new features, listening to customer feedback, and has excellent customer service. The amount of times I have emailed the support team asking for them to provide a very specific bit of code to create a custom website widget, and they always provide exactly what I need.

The UI is also perfect for both IT Pro's, admin staff and Marketing teams. This helps me personally shift the responsibility to them, and being on hand to support the hardware or software, or occasionally ask my opinion on designs and content.

Inconvénients

Yodeck is a powerful system for its price, so it's harsh to pick faults. But from our personal experience in a school, there are a few things I would love to have implemented.

We are a Microsoft school, so we would love to see built-in SSO for Microsoft 365, like it has with Google. Similarly, more Microsoft Apps would be welcome to the app selection.

Additionally, when pushing new content, it would be amazing if it could preload in the background, and then slowly fade to the new content when it is ready, instead of the stuttery and harsh transition as each content piece loads. I know this is partly limited by hardware, but the option to have this would be great.

It would also be amazing if you could have 'views' and deep permission levels so you can restrict individual folders. I would also, from a UI point, like to see Apps / Media merged into one as they use share the same folders anyway.

The software, permissions, ease of use, cost, experience, all amalgamate it to be the sensible option. Personally, my experience with the system can be used as an advantage in support, training and time to set up. The UI receives frequent updates, that they document on their blog. Meaning that bugs are fixed and user voice is heard. The competitor’s software that was highlighted previously offer good solutions, but their difficulty to use the interface and the time required to use was their downfall. Some of the features that they had were better than Yodeck, but they were let down by missing key features that Yodeck did have, such as easy customisable layout and being less educationally orientated.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of using the Yodeck application, and it left me thoroughly disappointed and frustrated. The issues I encountered ranged from constant glitches to an overly complicated setup process, coupled with abysmal customer support. As a potential customer, my experience has undoubtedly led me to reconsider my decision to purchase a player and license from Yodeck.

First and foremost, the application's performance was far from satisfactory. Glitches were a constant companion, interrupting the smooth operation of the platform. This significantly undermined the reliability of Yodeck, making it difficult to trust the application for seamless content management.

The setup process, touted to be user-friendly, turned out to be quite the opposite. The complexity of the installation and configuration procedures made the entire experience more challenging than it should be. For a user like me, seeking an intuitive and straightforward solution, Yodeck fell short of expectations.

Adding to the frustration was the customer support, which proved to be utterly inadequate. When attempting to address the glitches and seek assistance with the setup, I encountered delays, unhelpful responses, and an overall lack of responsiveness. The level of support I experienced did not instill confidence in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction.

Considering the myriad issues I faced during my trial of Yodeck, I have decided to take a hard pass on purchasing a player and license. The combination of glitches, a convoluted setup process, and subpar customer support does not make for a compelling case for investing in this platform. Potential users should be wary of the challenges they may encounter and carefully consider whether Yodeck aligns with their expectations and requirements before making a commitment.

What we liked most about Yodeck is its ease of use and the flexibility it offers for digital signage. The interface is intuitive, making it simple for our team to manage content updates remotely across multiple displays at Mercado District. Scheduling content and adjusting it to fit our business hours or special events is seamless. Yodeck’s ability to support a variety of multimedia formats adds great versatility.

One minor drawback is using Yodeck on an Amazon Firestick and not having the ability to auto open if the firestick gets restarted.

I could quickly figure out how to do what I needed to do, and in an emergency, I could talk one of my (mostly tech-challenged) colleagues how to use the software. The staff were also helpful when I was trying to figure out which plan would work best for us.

We are using the players for employee communication internally. We went from updating a google slide deck manually and having to refresh at each location regularly to a very streamlined experience. Dashboard is easy to understand and use and plenty of useful apps for displaying dynamic content.

Inconvénients

I'd say some of the available apps could use some TLC in terms of usability. For example the celebrations app would be greatly improved if it could connect to live data somewhere, even if it were a google sheet. The facebook feed integration seems to only work if you have page level access to the page but not for pages that you manage through Meta Business Suite. UI is great for power users, but may have a bit of a learning curve for some users.
