Terrible product, even worse support

Our worst decision in the past 10 years was to start to use SiteMinder. Never again.

Avantages

I don't know what to answer. There was not too much to like in it. The software is full of bugs, and the support is absolutely incompetent.

Inconvénients

The software is full of bugs which make you lose lot's of reservations.Their support is not willing or not able to solve any problem.

The Best Channel Management Solution

Avantages

Range of channels
Range of other apps , PMS and booking engines
Adaptability and flexibility of set up.
Very reliable
Great support
Cost

Inconvénients

Wish new feature could be added to Booking engine, such as loyalty scheme or secret rates to help us compete with OTA pricing.

Excelente software

Siteminder permite actualizar muy rápido en inventario por la mayoría de los canales de venta

Avantages

Muy buena usabilidad y conectividad. Se actualiza frecuentemente.

Inconvénients

Ahora necesito que conecte con algunas agencias locales y aún no es posible

Easy to use but lacks basic features like being able to run useful financial reports

Very basic of use but with time it's a lot effort to have to double up with a separate accounting software when everything could be easily.

Avantages

Very very basic. So if you want something that requires limited knowledge to use that software, this is it. Not a fancy software at all. You get your reservations in and that's pretty much it. So that might fit some.

Inconvénients

Biggest con for us is to have only a 2 weeks at-glance calendar. It's annoying. Siteminder should work on it. Then when you click on "save" sometimes it does not save properly and you have to start all over again.
Lack of financial useful revenue reports be it per month, or by room type. So you need an accounting software outside of Siteminder.
Potential to be great with a few easy improvements.

Muy mal servicio y cobro abusivo

Malisima, el vendedor es encantador pero despues, uno esta atrapado

NADA ME HA GUSTADO cuando lo empecé a usar
me convencieron usarlo y programaron de manera muy rapida para poder cobrar.
cuando dije que no me servia y ademas la capacitacion no fue nada clara, solo rapida para cobrar, me dijeron que no era una prueba y tenia que pagar

Inconvénients

Pruebé el servicio de Siteminder pero despues de una semana me di cuenta que no servia para un negocio de hostel
Informé a la empresa pero me dijeron que no se podia cancelar y me cobraron a la tarjeta de manera abusiva
El programa es muy complicado para el usuario, no lo aconsejo y el soporte es malisimo

Easy to use system

Avantages

Easy to install software to be able to control inventory from all channels. Lots of integrations with OTAs which helps improve distribution.

Inconvénients

Option to include more channels focused on apartment rentals to capture long stay guests.

Resuelven mis dudas con la configuración, la atencion al cliente es muy buena

Inconvénients

No tiene la facilidad de poder integrar el pago en linea directamente con los clientes que hacen reservaciones en nuestro hotel, ya que los bancos de el salvador no se intengran a siteminder

Siteminder Reviews

To be honest, I am very satisfied using the product. Except on several occasion certain room
categories have been booked twice despite inventories have been closed on channel manager. Beside these problem, overall it is an excellent product to use

showing /sending room availability on certain ota channel despite inventory has been closed on
channel manager therefore caused overbooking situation. If channel manager suppose to send real time room availability to all the mapped channels, how could it happend?

As our hotel is in Singapore, we are not able to contact Siteminder's customer support directly during emergencies for advise. Only via emails and it could take few days to resolve the problem.

Not great support

Avantages

It is suited to hostels but only partly.

Inconvénients

Group bookings, different check in and out dates for 2 or more rooms. Support is not great and resolution is even worse. They closed out my availability leading up to the busiest weekend of the year across all sites and have done nothing about this to date....7 months ago.

Siteminder for small motel

It is reliable which is of great importance to any business. Easy to use.

Avantages

Ease of use, practicality, reliabilty. Daily arrivals in one report for all channels.

Inconvénients

Could not fault Siteminder. Overall a very important part of my business.

Una herramienta fenomenal

Lo mejor y muy destacable es la atención por parte del equipo de soporte y atención al cliente. Muy amables y profesionales. Además han apoyado al sector durante la pandemia con reducciones de cuota.

Avantages

Facilidad de uso. Integración con la gran mayoría de los canales. Inmejorable atención del equipo humano.

Inconvénients

No da la opción de integrar un TPV virtual de un tercero (banco)

Long term user

We have been using SiteMinder for the last 10 years and have found it to be completely reliable and meets all our needs to operate a 14 unit 5 star motel.

Avantages

We find the system very easy to use and quite easy to train new reception staff. We manually adjust rates and conditions on a daily basis to maximise occupancy and yield.

Inconvénients

Mapping rooms can be quite confusing. Have found this quite time consuming

Gret channel manager

Great. It revolutionized my business 5 years ago, but I believe the market has changed since then and Siteminder will have to change with the times eventually.

Avantages

Brings together most of my channels to one easy to manage place

Inconvénients

Only works at a group of rooms/properties level. So I cannot list individual property availability which many sites require. For example - AirBnB work on a per property availability while Booking.com and Expedia work on the availability across your properties - like rooms in a hotel.
Siteminder is great for Booking.com but does not work with AirBnB.
Also I have two Booking.com listings, but Siteminder can only link with one, so I have to manually manage the second listing.

Very Satisfied

It is a one stop shop in updating and controlling inventory. As stated above the support is exceptional with very friendly, professional and knowledgeable staff. I am not a computer whizz and I find the support staff are very understanding of this.

Avantages

I find the software very easy to work around and when you have any issues or problems the help facilities and also customer service staff are very helpful.

I have no negative issues with this software.

Excellent

Avantages

At our hotel (Hotel & Gasthof zum Hirsch) we have been using SiteMinder technology for 3 years. We love that we can make changes to our Canvas website without needing professional IT background. Our direct bookings have increased by around 18%, we have more independence for 3rd parties and we are gaining a lot more traffic.

A great cloud services bundle

I work with many hotels, and having a tech solution that helps me save time and save money to the hotel is a must. I came upon siteminder looking online and I have already implemented it on several properties. Has everything you need to control your inventory and avoid overbookings. The website templates are also great, ease to use and fast.

Its a tool that does what is meant to, helps you save time and helps you sell more.

Easy connection to OTA´s

Creating promotions on the booking button app should be better looking, not just a code

Easy to use software and help us save much time!

Avantages

This channel management software help us save time a lot when compare to update manually in each channel. Report is also useful for check guest check in and check out dates.

Inconvénients

Sometime the inventory update delay 5 - 6mins, but this isn't happen frequent.
It would be great if system can instantly update.

Great tool for hoteliers!

User-friendly, clear, fast, great support...
Started to use it a month ago and haven't explore all its functions yet.If all the functionalities are as the basic ones, I will remain life-time SiteMinder user.

Inconvénients

I believe single and multiple occupancy set up have a large space for improvement.

SiteMinder Got the Job Done

SiteMinder was able to promote our listings on sites that require a partnership to do so and on this merit they did a good job.

Avantages

We were able to promote booking options on sites like TripAdvisor.

Inconvénients

You are forced to use their booking engine which wasn't really setup for how we facilitate online bookings. The booking engine does not include a decent templating system so you are left with a generic looking checkout process.

Support for Using Software is Excellent

Overall, I find the system somewhat confusing, however the support team assist as best they can. I would say I am pretty tech savvy, and my issues are likely to do with the fact I was not on the team that chose and implemented this system.

Avantages

The number of channels Siteminder connects with allows us a very simplified method of linking and updating our huge number of packages and rates options to many different channels.

Inconvénients

I find the set-up often counter-intuitive and I rely heavily on the support team to talk me through various changes I need to make.

Channel manager for mid-size properties

Avantages

Simple to use and navigate as a channel manager, easy to set up restrictions.

Inconvénients

Integration with some OTAs arose with some issues and was a little slow.

If we request for accessing rate plan for New Online Agent, Siteminder Team immediately respond our inquiry. The Extranet in Siteminder is easy to use. We can know a lot of Online Agents which have been joining with Siteminder.com so that we can contact several of the potential Online Agents operators to make contract agreement . Siteminder.com give us flexible payment process. Indeed we have enjoyed to make working relationship with Siteminder.com. We are very satisfied with the Channel manager.

Reservations without trying

Avantages

Did not require a lot of interaction if you didn't want to change things too often.

Inconvénients

Needed to be manually adjusted. Did not integrate with my software, but that could of been my choice.

Great Channel Manager

Avantages

This a great channel manager with lots channel distribution. It works perfectly. no problems with double bookings.

Inconvénients

The customer support is bad. They take more than 24 hours to give an answer, which is a long time when you're dealing with reservations. The custom support was one of the reasons I changed to another.

Increase Sign-On Efficiency

Overall, this software is great for web-based authentication and allows for employees to sign on and follow policy within the company. Customer support can be lacking at times, but they are needed so rarely with the software that it does not make a significant difference.

Avantages

This software is great for creating efficient sign-on practices and allowing policy-based authentication.
It is very simple to use and set up and gets the job done.

Inconvénients

Sometimes there are technical issues to be solved and customer support is not the greatest, so it is hard to easily get past those issues.

Probably the best channel manager on the market

Great channel manager connecting with lots of PMS too.

Avantages

We have been using SiteMinder for a few years now and it has always been reliable. Rates and availability are always syncing with all the online channels. They also have other great features like Bookingbutton that can power our direct booking site.

Inconvénients

It's a simple enough tool for everyone to use. I don't have any negative opinions about SiteMinder. It just works!

In Dire Needs of Updates

Avantages

This review is in reference to the BookingButton specifically - it *does* get the job done, but not without a struggle.

Inconvénients

The backend interface is straight out of the 90s. Simple tasks like uploading photos is needlessly time consuming (manually uploading one at a time with no stored gallery?). Customer service is generally unhelpful. This could be solid software if they, frankly, cared about their customer's experience.

Great product

We are a small Boutique Hotel with 27 rooms. We have been using siteminder for almost 7 years now.
Good thing with siteminder is that they always improving their products, upgrading some of the features but still keeping it very easy to use it. I used other products before, updates were very slow compare to siteminder.

Site Minder is like a personal assistant, taking care of the bookings when we are not...

Avantages

What I like most about this software, is the peace of mind knowing that the bookings are taken care of & I do not have to be concerned about double bookings. Especially as we are in Australia & a lot of our guests are from Europe & America, which is on a different time zone.
Before we had SiteMinder we had a few double bookings & we had to relocate the guests to another BnB, which was disappointing for both us & the guests.
The system is easy to access & navigate through, especially if you need to adjust the rooms availability due to a cancellation, or you need to close the rooms if you are going on a vacation yourself.
It is reassuring that the rooms are showing the correct availability.

Inconvénients

Overall, there is nothing to complain about. I just have to be aware if there is a cancellation, to go into the site & re-open the rooms.
This is not a problem as the access is easy & straight forward.

Excellent Channel Manager - Fantastic Support

We are a boutique hotel of 14 rooms and have been using SiteMinder (and the Booking Button) for over 7 years. One of the great things about this product is it is in constant development. New features are released regularly, and the product evolves with market feedback. Compared to most software companies one of the best things about Siteminder is their support. A phone call to an Australian call centre, no waiting on hold for hours, and satisfactory and immediate assistance!

Great for independent

Direct bookings from our website.

Avantages

There is no cost associated with direct bookings from our website with siteminder. Inventory is automatically synchronized with our PMS.

Inconvénients

The ease of using and building site; not much help with customer support and very limited hours. Options for rates when booking automatically chooses two nights by default and gives the total for those two nights rather than one night like other similar products. No 24 hour customer support either. Trying to get GDS built and set up has been a nightmare.

As stated in my review it works as it should, which as I am sure most people are aware that is rare these days.

Every now and again it will glitch, but overall I would says its works as it should 98% of the time.

no tener mas cleintes elegibles para conectar y que no podamos ver configuracion taxes-distribucion

Excellent assistance, thank you!

We are running at total 32 Rooms distributed on 9 active OTAs. Siteminder has do a lot to assist us in managing and distributing our room rate and availability with zero failure. It gives us more time to manage other things in our hotel.

Avantages

Easy of use, features , friendly and very helful customer support

The transition from being part of a chain group to taking ownership of SiteMinder was easy

Avantages

Being able to control our rooms, rates, stop sell dates, min. stays etc in one easy place. Moving to SiteMinder after being part of a chain group was made easy by the SiteMinder team and the training & support given.

Inconvénients

Not being able to update past a year or so into the future. Sometimes the logging in can be difficult. An old password seems to be "remembered" by the system and each time I log in I have to delete that old one and re-enter with the correct updated one. That can be time-consuming.
