Quartzy review
Quartzy has been great! Really easy to use and helpful for coordinating ordering for a large lab.
Avantages
Organization and coordination of ordering between all members of the lab. Repeat ordering is simple by searching for previous orders. We've also gotten some good deals using the Quartzy shop.
Inconvénients
Notification settings are a bit confusing. Would like to have a feature to bulk edit many items at once (e.g. move all approved items to ordered).

It is easy to review past orders and to order directly through Quartzy.
Inconvénients
We have 6 different specialty areas in our laboratory that order different supplies. Because we have them separated, we cannot combine orders through Quartzy for the different areas or combine their items into the same PO. It makes no sense that if 3 of our labs are ordering Items from Fisher Scientific, I have to create 3 different POs.

Purchasing Simplified
We used to keep everything in a handwritten book, where it was up to me to figure out handwriting - therefore leaving a chance for error - now it is all in one place and employees must complete certain criteria that we set forth so everything is right there for ease of ordering with stock numbers and reason and project code.
Avantages
Everyone that needs it, is accessable to them. Puts all purchases from any vendor in one place. Also offers options from Quartzy - same material. When entering a product offers options on different vendors and compariable product.
Inconvénients
Should be a easier option on choosing quartzy and then change your mind to another vendor, it does not let you go back. Also recalling a previous order to re-order it doesn't let you change quantity. (unless this is a training issue)

Flexible System
I love working with the Quartzy Team. We have been using this product since the "early days". It is very nice to see feed back, be taken in and implimented.
Avantages
I really like that this allows my end users to keep up to date with their orders, and out of my office.
Inconvénients
I wish there was two part approvals that could be triggered by dollar amount, or grant ID.

Quartzy is an excellent software to meet the basic need in a laboratory.
Avantages
Keep good track of the purchasing process/progress. The approval tree help controlling the expense and who is buying for each project.
Inconvénients
The search process is sometimes difficult if you aren't in the right section. The link to the products' page is sometimes not working.

Whenever we have had ordering issues Quartzy responses immediately and fixes issues.
Avantages
Great for finding items and great for keeping track of ordering.
Inconvénients
Nothing is difficult about the software. I don’t like the extra handling charges and I can find cheaper options sometimes through my university’s system.

Excellent Software for Laboratory Management
Quartzy provides a simple solution for coordinating purchases and managing inventory in our laboratory. We have saved over $10K by using this software. It is highly intuitive and has helped us operate more efficiently.
Avantages
Inventory tracking and management, participating in volume discounts/purchasing power, simplified ordering, easy expense reports...I would not manage my lab without this!
Inconvénients
There is nothing not to like about this software, it is free!

Feedback on Quartzy - User and Administrator
We found it is a good tool to save money. Although some purchases do not reflect our actual discount with vendors, it does offer good pricing from a lot of vendors we might not been able to negotiate better pricing with.
Avantages
Quartzy is a good resource to allow brand new lab employees the opportunity to order supplies and see the price we have locked in as business by scrolling through our inventory of purchases. It is very user friendly and it is easy to place a requisition for approval. We can put in projects and monitor project supplies.
Inconvénients
The most frustrating part of using Quartzy is the limited and clunky reporting. Quartzy has so much useful information entered in it but pulling it out to review often producing reporting that is not want you really would like to see. It doesn't offer a separate report tab for managers and finance to pull information off to prepare for budgeting and usage. Adding several reporting options to Quartzy could easily change it to a 5 star tool.

Quartzy changed our lab’s purchasing
We use Quartzy to purchase and manage our lab’s inventory. The ease of use makes our lab’s experience much more streamlined compared to other labs in our department who still use outdated university provided purchasing solutions.
Avantages
Great user interface, good deal finding, good purchase history tracking
Inconvénients
Needs better support for purchasing administrators and also needs a checkbox to automatically deny substitutions so purchasers don’t get confused

Great free service, with a couple small flaws
Avantages
For the most part, Quartzy is great for lab management and procurement. It makes inventory and the ordering process seamless, with easy integrated tracking and receiving options. Their customer service for returning or cancelling orders is reliable, fast, and friendly. It helps that it's free and the products are often cheaper than the manufacturers advertise!
Inconvénients
The main issue with Quartzy is the search function. While there is a (less obvious) way to put in the vendor and item number to place an order, generally finding what you need from the native search function is challenging. Additionally, there are times when I would expect the item to be ordered because Quartzy has other products from the vendor, but it is unavailable. Lastly, the shipping accuracy is sometimes off, where a package is claimed to be backordered or has not yet shipped, but in fact has arrived at our facility.

Quartzy user for just over a year
I love it. I find it easy to use and relatively easy to explain to new users.
Avantages
I don't feel like I've received formal training on Quartzy. I have found it very easy to use and very intuitive. As the person who processes requests, I like how Quartzy documents, organizes, and catalogs requests that are ordered and received. I like how I can attach files along the way. I like how it sends notifications when the status changes and when you leave comments.
Inconvénients
I'm still learning. When I get stuck, I reach out to Quartzy for help and they come through everytime.

Can't make basic changes to some fields after order is submitted. Search function is abysmal, outright excluding results we know are there. Can be very slow at times. Could be improved by having more report functions.

I highly recommend Quartzy for Science Research labs.
It pops up expiry dates of the chemicals with already fed data.
This feature helped us to procure the chemicals on time.
The storage information of the chemicals is another critical feature which comes in a handy way.
Avantages
Easy to find the procured materials, offers best prices through shop and saves perfectly in the database.
Best part is its data retrieval.

My experience with Quartzy
I have to manage a big lab. Thanks to Quartzy, the ordering is quite efficient and the inventory very well organized.
Avantages
It is very easy to order reagents directly from Quartzy. The costumer service is very responsive. They constantly update you with the status of the order (availability , delivery..) And prices are always good.
Inconvénients
This is the only software I have ever used . So, I find no Cons

Very Helpful
It's a kind of one stop shopping experience - all the orders are there - received and tracking past orders and shipping status - all right there for me.
Avantages
All the options on the software help me (in purchasing) - to be able to efficiency serve our Lab and get them what they need.
Inconvénients
The only thing that I can think of is sometimes if I want to expedite the shipping on an order, I can't always request that directly in the program - I have to send a message to customer support to do that for me. (Sometimes it's an option but not always)

Searching for a brand new product can be difficult. It's easiest to know exactly what you want and use the manufacturer catalog number instead of doing an open-ended search for a product.

Its streamlined my supplychain. Sometimes we are surprised by longer than anticipated lead times (non-Covid-19 related) so that may be another area of improvement but overall I'm very happy with everything.
Avantages
The website fits my operation well for staff to request supplies. Tracking of shipping status works fairly well too. Invoicing is slick in that I can easily generate pdf invoices and having them directly emailed to my AP is a huge quality of life perk for me.
Inconvénients
The inventory system is clunky so we don't use it. Searching past orders and inventory could be improved. Having a favorites or frequent purchase system could go a long way to help this to make repeat orders easier.

This was a great beginning integration and improvement from white board ordering system. It was used as a LIMs system in the beginning.

It's quite easy to use among a group of people. We use this to log lab orders
Inconvénients
Sometimes there seems to be a mix up or a lag from the data with information when clicking through different lab tabs on the left drop down column. For example, if I click on one lab to see any new or approved items, I will click on the next lab to check on their new or approved items, but when you click on these items, it's the same requests from the previous lab section but it's showing up in the other lab section. I find that I have to refresh the page and double check that the items in the requests are specific for the lab tab I'm in.

Great ease to find compatible products and to order. Great integration with business.
Inconvénients
The upgrade of the software a couple of years ago turned out to be a downgrade - I contacted the technical team multiple times about it, but in vain. The icons Ordered, Approved, Place order used to be all different colors and fonts which provided a great ease to search, keep a record and do and instant check. Now all those functions are blended and require much greater effort to find something or see the full picture instantly.

Quartzy is a great laboratory supplier for quality products
A great company. They always keep me posted on availability and delivery status, especially if the estimated delivery date differs from the estimated date or if something is backordered. Their customer service has been outstanding, thanks Quartzy.
Avantages
Quartzy sells a large quantity of high-quality laboratory products used in government research labs, and often for the best price, even beating large suppliers like Fisher, VWR, Sigma etc.
Inconvénients
Sometimes you have to dig through a long list of products to find what you want. Also, sometimes the estimated delivery dates are off, so if it's a time-critical item I may buy it elsewhere.

Quartzy is very helpful in keeping organized and not letting little things slip through the cracks.
Avantages
I like that it can keep us organized with requests, purchases, inventory, and that we can enter our lot numbers as items are received to keep track.
Inconvénients
I dislike that whenever i purchase something that quartzy offers through another vendor, I can't move it from the approved tab to the purchased tab.

Inconvénients
I hope the ads can be concealed after I rejecting them. The auto generation of PO forms is another wonderful feature.
