There had been instances where we were put on back order without notice. Products were also cancelled without sufficient notice because supplier discontinued product.

It speeds up material requests and ordering.
Avantages
The product is really easy to use and implement. Having a central tool for users to request items and admins approve and purchase is helpful so as to not have to create and manage this business process. Being able to re-order items quickly is nice to have without having to keep track independently.
Inconvénients
It takes quite a number of steps for the admin to get through checkout. Also if there can be an amount limit tiers that can be set for what requires approval and what does not and who needs to approve based on the limit.

Quartz Makes Lab Work Efficient
I cannot see our lab using any other software for purchasing. Prior to Quartzy, we manually documented purchases with shared excel sheets, which became unorganized very quickly. I would recommend Quartzy to any lab.
Avantages
The ease of finding products through a single database makes purchasing for our lab simple and organized. There is also the fact that Quartzy automatically compares the price of the requested product to similar products from other vendors.
Inconvénients
The inventory system may sometimes be difficult to manage. However, the tab system makes it easier than before.

I have extensively used this software for all orders in my lab as lab manager. I simply love it.
Avantages
Form filling is a breeze. It only takes 30 seconds to fill out an order.
Inconvénients
There are no bad parts of this software that I am aware of.

Great product for lab organization
Quartzy is a great tool for organizing the lab inventory as well as ordering new items.
Avantages
Quartzy allows anyone in the lab to add items that need to be ordered. It is very easy and intuitive to use. Even our undergraduate students can have accounts and use Quartzy. It also allows you to add where each item can be found.
Inconvénients
Quartzy at one time had sections for lab recipes/SOPs and documents, but this feature was removed at some point along the way. We miss it!

Quartzy is near invaluable
Quartzy has been incredibly important in the lab. We use it all the time to order or reorder things that maybe we don't remember where we got it. Item numbers and information are all readily available.
Avantages
This makes ordering things for our laboratory very simple and streamlined. They often have good prices when ordering through them, but it does not limit you to purchasing through them if you find a better deal.
Inconvénients
Some of the prices are marked up, even with the "discount" but honestly this is remedied by checking prices yourself and ordering that way.

Multiple users at one time can. Easy track of orders. Easy track of inventory.
Inconvénients
A bit slow, when there is a lot of data. No field for CAS number for items in the orders tab. This is very important. This is the best way to find a hazard material in this data base, I wish the Quartzy team will add it.

Quartzy has made purchasing so easy, saves us time, and importantly has saves us hundreds. This means more money to buy other items.
Avantages
My favorite thing about Quartzy is how easy to use the software is, how quickly we got it set up, and the ability to save money by purchasing through quartzy. I also really love the feature to have a list of previously purchased items with detailed information, and the ability to update order status to inform the team when an item is received.
Inconvénients
My least favorite thing about quartzy is its lack of barcode scanning features or looking up items using image capturing technology, but I am being ambitious.

Streamlined ordering and saves money
Saves money. Saves time.
Avantages
We started using Quartz to order lab supplies and it has saved both time and money! Their system will automatically search for similar, cheaper products throughout the internet and has saved our company loads of money.
Inconvénients
Some products are unavailable through Quartzy, so we have not been able to use it exclusively.

Quartzy quickly brings structure and order to chaotic ordering process
Avantages
Quartzy made implementing organization around our purchasing process simple and easy for a startup where every second matters. It instantly brought structure and centrality for everyone to use in this time of social distancing and work from home. Forgot individual emails or a shared document, those methods are things of the past. Quartzy is easy to implement, easy to customize, and most importantly FREE!
Inconvénients
It would be nice to be able to add a required by date on a request without marking it as "Urgent". If I could add this information without the stress the "urgent" label brings to our lab manager, we could better group and consolidate orders to achieve maximum discounts. The ability to label by date needed and then sort by this field with a secondary sort by vendor would be extremely valuable.

Great for research enterprise, but limits in crosstalk with other applications
Avantages
Quartzy allowed for a centralized database that simplifies the ordering process for our Institute, with the added benefit of offering comparison shopping suggestions that more often than not are really great deals. We have definitely saved a considerable amount of money using this exceedingly simple to use platform.
Inconvénients
There are no APIs to talk to other software platforms, so implementation of crosstalk to financial software for the generation of purchase orders and tracking budgets/spending is exceedingly difficult without having to jump through hoops or duplicate efforts. This is the greatest weakness of the Quartzy platform.

There's a little box that pops up in the lower right corner sometimes that makes it impossible to see the text under there without changing the zoom level of the whole window.

Savings and organization for bioscience ordering.

I really like the savings over traditional bioscience purchasing options. I like being able to track when items are received and to keep a list of things that have been ordered. I also like that team members can select and request an item that I can then push through to order once I've had a chance to review.
Inconvénients
It can be difficult to tell when an item will be received, they often get delayed and then an estimated date is not there.

Avantages
Quartzy has a clean user interface for submitting, approving, and ordering items. Furthermore, the monthly spending reports and the easy interface with excel have been incredibly helpful. Finally, ordering directly from quartzy has generally been a positive experience, as they have great customer service - they are good with cancellations if something is delayed, rapid and professional communication, etc
Inconvénients
Very few. On the inventory, a "search for duplicates" function would be helpful, especially if the item is identical but from different sources.
Also, forms don't automatically update for certain options.

100% amazing. The 19 scientists in my lab love it, and even accounting finds it useful for looking into certain inventory items.
Avantages
Quartzy is free to use and took our lab from handwritten order requests to a streamlined platform that stores our inventory and alerts for urgent order requests.
Inconvénients
I wish that Quartzy searched through the inventory and new requests tabs and vendor searching, simultaneously. It is a bit tedious to search through each tab.

Everything has been great. Customer service is phenomenal and the overall product is very streamlined.
Avantages
This software is super user friendly. Not only with setup but also with everyday usage.
Inconvénients
Sometimes items have been discontinued or not in stock and it doesn't say that when purchasing. Not that big of a deal but if the catalogs were live that would be great. But I understand as Quartzy being a middle man of sorts this may be a challenge.

We have been overall pleased with Quartzy, and wish more vendors were part of it, and that it also integrated better with Amazon.

The possibility of automatically adding items received to the inventory, the several customization features, and the customer service team.
Inconvénients
It takes too many clicks to perform searches, and shipping information is not always up to date. Also, there is always a difference between the expected and the actual shipping date. It is not clear why.

Fantastic product that can help save time and money with discounts on products.
Avantages
This is a great free software that makes it easy to track orders and keep a record of previous orders. They imported 10 years of previous orders into my database for my reference before even starting to use it. The [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] even set up a in person meeting with me.
Inconvénients
There are often suggested alternatives to order requests that are listed that you have to ignore or reject, but this pays for the software...but they are occasionally useful.

Quartzy Makes It Easy!
Quartzy saves us time and in most cases money because the pricing is competitive and delivery is fast. That is crucial as projects can be time sensitive and during peak season it is critical we can get product out the door fast.
Avantages
The simplicity and ease in ordering. We generally reorder a lot of the same items for the lab. It's as simple as "request again" which saves time not having to re-input all the product information each time.

Quartzy became our lab and office supply requisition system and has increased the efficiency of the Requisition to Payment process.
Avantages
Very searchable by many data points. Can also upload quotes, attachments for complete record-keeping. Also finds less expensive prices for specific products with other vendors which saves us money.
