Loom est un logiciel d'utilisation facile, qui en plus d'offrir une haute qualité d'enregistrement d'écran, permet de partager facilement des vidéos et des commentaires avec des collègues et même des personnes extérieures à l'entreprise.

Inconvénients

Loom est basée sur le cloud, et donc nécessite une connexion internet stable pour fonctionner correctement. Les variations de qualité de la connexion internet influencent l'enregistrement et le téléchargement des vidéos.

Avantages

J'apprécie de pouvoir mettre le visage sur la vidéo quoique finalement cela peut déconcentrer l'acquisition de l'information

Inconvénients

On sent un branding/marketing ultra puissant et derrière à l'utilisation : un logiciel qui n'a quasiment aucune fonctionnalité à part filmer son écran - chose faisable avec un compte Google - et héberger - chose faisable avec YouTube.

Avantages

I love that it saves me time. Instead of taking screen shots and making an email with arrows etc., I can easily record the steps on how to do something. Or, instead of phoning someone to explain how to do something or walking them through it over the phone, I can make a short Loom video for them. Also, if someone else has the same issue or question, I already have the Loom video with the answer to send to them.

Inconvénients

I use two computer screens and I find it difficult to get Loom to record the correct screen or it will allow me to record the Loom homescreen, but not switch over to the actual screen I want to record.

Avantages

It's so easy to get started, just connect, provide permissions, and you're ready to go. Getting into it and using is effortless.

Inconvénients

Editing isn't hard, but it can be confusing. At times I was unsure if I was deleting the selected portion, or the rest of the video.

The idea behind the product is very logical, it helps you create a guide whilst recording your webcam and generating a link. This can save time if you need to explain things to people often and share it. The product works as intended

Inconvénients

It's quite a niche product - I didn't find myself needing to use it often enough to justify having it. What it can do is not something that is extremely special, and you can use other software to record your screen and create guides which I think is more applicable in different situations (scribe)

What I like most about Loom is its ability to share recorded videos quickly, as it allows users to share them simply by providing a link.

Inconvénients

What I like least about Loom is the limited options for customizing the appearance of the videos.

Super easy to use.
Similar interface to Zoom, Skype, etc.
Ease of recording and Chrome extension really boosted the product's usefulness.

Inconvénients

The only issue was that one older person on my team would always forget to record, complaining about it being too hard to use. Turned out they never read any of the how-to's or the use documentation.

The user flow is pretty complex. It lacks seamless video editing option, which for me is adding more work to the final piece.

Avantages

If you are looking for a tool to either record your screen to help users, communicate with your screen, or make a tutorial, Loom is a perfect option. I love that they recently added frames for your photo/small self-video, screens for explanations and that you can control which screen you share. The free version is 5 minutes or less, so if you need more time than time you will need to pay, but it is worth it.

Inconvénients

It might, in some cases, make my laptop (Mac) slower if I have it opened for too long. It gets fixed by closing and reopening it.

Avantages

I started using this app with the free trial. I use it on daily basis since I work a lot with customer service and it is much easier a very short video explaining any process. Everything is automated! The system will just cut pauses and provide title and description of the video with AI features. You receive notification real time from who watched the video. Among colleagues is also useful. Instead of creating manuals and long books explaining all process/rules in place you can just use Loom to show a new trainee how's the job and what he/she should be doing. As remote worker for an international company this has been a game changer. Even when I am off/away my colleague can go to the library of training and see how it is done. Absolutely brilliant app! I am happy to have now the subscription so I can extend the use of AI features.

There is nothing really I did not like about loom so far. I am happy with it, and will attend also webinars

I LOVE the record screen features. The mic/speaker quality is great, and I love being able to do just my screen or my screen and camera at the same time (picture in picture)

Inconvénients

This is probably more because of the type of tablet/laptop that I used, but sometimes if I held it wrong, it would record upside down. A feature where you could “flip” your video would be fantastic!

It is easy to create videos that are polished enough for external use. Such videos clearly demonstrate our product's value.

When sharing a browser tab, it is not always clear when the recording has started, which means I have to clip the start of the video on many occasions. In the worst-case scenario, this concern spoils my confidence to introduce the topic during the recording as I am unsure what is being recorded and what is not.

Look presented itself as an opportunity during the COVID pandemic for me to screen record and share lessons to my students virtually. I prefer Loom to other platforms like Screencastify because of the ease of use. The platform is easy to manipulate, and I love being able to share a direct link to my videos. I used Loom to record myself reading novels. This helped my students to be able to “read” with me. As a result, I have continued to record novels to share with my students.

Inconvénients

Having a limited number (free version) of recordings in your library is a downfall, but I would say Loom is worth it!

I appreciate how I'm able to easily share a video with a link without having to download it as this saves me a lot of storage space and time.
