Avantages

Ease of use AND reliability are the top two things I like most about ScreenPal over other similar products.

Inconvénients

The annual subscription seems to continue to rise and I have yet to see a break for educators or those who also use it for teaching classes and courses.

Avantages

I used ScreenPal when it was Screencast-O-Matic. I learned about it from Youtubers that said making their videos was inexpensive and easy. I've been using it for a long time. I truly enjoy the ease of video editing, screen recording and link sharing. Those are my favorite features. Now that I know about the audio recording features, I will definitely be using those. The simple pricing and low cost for such an easy-to-use, robust tool of this caliber couldn't be passed up.

Inconvénients

One of my biggest cons would pertain to layering of edits made during video editing.
For example, if I've cut one part, then overlay text next, then inserted a video, etc. I'm not able to just remove that first cut and keep the rest of the edits that I made subsequently after that. Now granted, I'm not a professional video editor, so I'm not sure if that's something you can do anyway, however that's the biggest con. I have to essentially start everything over if I mess up an edit later down the line. Perhaps you all have some training on how to do this and I'm just not aware, but that's the only issue I would say.

So easy to use and creates high quality professional screen recordings with some nice options to integrate your webcam in different ways.

Obviously there are more advanced professional options on the market, depending on your goals, but for a simple solution this is about as good as it gets.

Used to be such an easy program to use. The old program (I started using when it was Screencast-o-matic) made it very simple to record online classes and make them accessible to students.

Inconvénients

Terrible, TERRIBLE conversion to new app and format. Videos now don't save and can't be converted to a usable format (this used to be very easy). I spent a good bit of time recording a class on the new app, and then spent several hours trying to save it, to no avail. Nothing I've tried will save the video and all the work's down the drain. Looking for a new recording program now, will never use Screenpal again.

I find ScreenPal has a very user-friendly interface, making it easy for beginners like me to start recording and editing videos without a steep learning curve.
I use the edit options very much, as it offers a variety of editing features, such as trimming, overlays (text and blur), and sound managment, which are intuitive and quick to use.

i don't see any cons as far as my use considers. it might be a little to little options for more advanced users, but for my use it is all good.

I like that you can record and even add to your recording questions.

Inconvénients

I would like to be able to save a recording and then go back and add to that one rather than splice other recordings together. As an instructor, it is essential to be able to stop at a point and then be able to get right back into the same recording. Maybe I am missing something...

Avantages

I did love the ease of ScreenPal to do recordings, but it so often freezes and I can't even exit it from my computer. Several times I have uninstalled and reinstalled, but it is just a pain to have to continue to deal with this issue.

Avantages

Screen Pal is easy to use, offers music, and had drag and drop options for content creating. Once my AI generated book chapter is recorded I can create a video/podcast in about five minutes using Screen Pal.

Well I don't like change and when Screencast-o-matic switched over to Screen Pal I had to relearn how to use it. But in the end its twice as fast to drop and drag all my content into the story board. I'd also love more music selection specifically for podcast creators. But overall I still love the music feature as it adds so much.

I love every aspect of ScreenPal - it keeps getting better.

I don't have anything negative to say against ScreenPal. Their support is first clas.

Screenpal has proven to be an invaluable tool for our business, and once you get used to the controls it is super-easy to upload, edit and organize video tutorials in channels.

Having to upload videos one by one, and not having a bulk upload feature, requires a lot of downtime as videos are uploaded, processed, then added to the proper channel.

ScreenPal does what it is advertised to do. It is easy to learn, the settings are intuitive, and there are tons of help resources built in.

At this time there are no cons. The old version would sometimes be clunky but they've fixed it. It's all good now!

The Zoom integration is very handy since I share videos with my students. You can edit Zoom recordings inside the Screencast-o-matic editor if you would like and upload it to the platform. I can set the expiration date for each video when I share with my students. Once you set it, you can forget about it, which is so convenient. When large sized videos are uploaded, the file size will automatically become smaller. It is good because I want Zoom recordings to be smaller in size. You can also hide your published date when you don’t want to share it with people.I also like the Screencast-o-matic editing software. I’m amazed how much you can do with it. If you have a green screen, you can easily remove the green background and add a different one. I was able to remove the green background nicely, so my lecture recordings look professional with my slides as my background. The subscription is not so expensive. I think it is a great deal when you purchase it at the end of November when the sale is going on.

When you want to keep videos that have high definition quality on the platform , I’m not sure how to do that. Video file size will be shrunk each time I try. I haven’t found how to do that yet.

Software for anyone that wants to relate information to others via Video. Ease of useautomatically renders and uploads to the Cloud so that I don't have to.

They’ve thought about all the features you might require to create great videos. Having the ability to add in music background and high quality photos is great for my content as a yoga teacher.

I’ve created my own in PowerPoint but I’d love to see Cue Card availability. When I first started using this I got very confused about the uploading video facility so I’d recommend you watch the very helpful tutorials or you record directly into the system.

It's easy, responsive, and just awesome. I use it nearly every day to record edit and then easily share/post up to my YouTube channel to then distribute to customers and colleagues quality videos.

You can go from download to recording in only a few minutes--there isn't a complex setup. Recording is quick and easy to do and the ability to store videos locally or online is great. The paid version is very affordable for anyone who needs the added features.

Some people would say that the lack of built-in editing features is a negative but that's not what you're paying for. Honestly, there really isn't much that I don't like about the program.

Avantages

I like the variety of available filters. You can add additional text, highlight particular areas on the screen, emphasize different types of mouse actions, and obfuscate confidential information. It's also easy to splice together different cuts of video. A very powerful and helpful piece of software.

Inconvénients

The time-slider (to move to different points in the video) can be very touchy. Also, you have to be very mindful about how you layer your effects. If you're not very careful, you can miss frames when you think you've setup two different effects to stack and instead of a seamless transition, it becomes incredibly obvious. If there was a better way to work with individual frames, that would also help a lot but alas, I don't think there is one.
