One of the most practical for profitability tracking

It does what I need it to do and for a price that is worth it.
Again, tracking project profitability is my main reason to use it.

Avantages

The main reason I chose Productive was to be able to track the profitability of each project, by assigning a cost by ressource (employee) and tracking billing + expenses on each project.
The reporting and customizable dashboard are very appreciated features.

I also like the fact that we can email directly to a deal to add entries in the crm.
I also like the Notion type documents. Could have more options though

Inconvénients

- The CRM is a bit basic. Notes and followups could be more intuitive and organized.
- The navigation inside the app is not always clear and I found myself often searching for the way to get to where I need.
- When adding time outside the dates of a budget, the error preventing me from adding it was annoying. I would have prefferred a warning and be able to choose to add it anyway.
- I'd like to be able to quickly create a task from the time tracking entry on the calendar view if I found myself on working on something that was not initially listed.
- Managing billing and budget is not user friendly, especially when pre-selling hours.

Everything You Need in One Smart Platform

Avantages

Productive is a tool that brings together an efficient task management system, resource allocation, time tracking, leave request management, budgeting, and CRM under one roof. By integrating all these tools, it provides excellent reporting capabilities and real-time insights into project and company performance.

Inconvénients

It is incredibly modular and rich in data, but for this reason, it can be a bit intricate and not very user-friendly at first. However, with time and some practice, this initial learning curve can be overcome.

We've used several tools for our agency and never really found what we were looking for. It's a big commitment for an agency like us to switch from one tool to another. This doubt is now something of the past.

Avantages

The balance between flexibility and clarity is so much on point in Productive. We've used a lot of tools before that claim to be flexible but where we eventually hit a major roadblock for our business. On the other hand, we have used more complex tools too but those lack clarity very often. For us, Productive is perfectly on the crossroad of these two very important aspects.

Inconvénients

Sometimes, we think about a feature that would be nice to have and isn't there yet. But almost always, we find it back in the roadmap. A roadmap that is transparent and doesn't overpromise, which we like!

Highly Recommended!

Avantages

I've found Productive to be an intuitive project management platform that significantly enhances the agencies productivity, streamlines our workflows, and it enables us to be integrated across all our specialisms. Enhanced settings for time tracking and financial management, and extensive reporting! The support team is FANTASTIC too.

Inconvénients

Productive is constantly releasing new features, so this will most likely be resolved. However, you current can not report on Net Revenue.

Quality product(ive)

Productive is the centre of the day-to-day organisation of our business and gives great clarity and structure on project progress ad budgeting and whether projects are running on time or over budget.

Avantages

Productive features such as time tracking, time logs, scheduling and planning are crucial for optimized work of a IT development agency.

Inconvénients

Analytics, Project planning, Sales board and 3rd party Integrations could be improved but those are minor things compared the value that Productive brings

What I liked the most about Productive is how easy it is to use and how it helps me stay consistent with my goals. The reminders are subtle but effective, and the progress tracking is super motivating. It’s great to see how small daily habits add up over time!

Inconvénients

What I liked least about Productive is that some features are locked behind a subscription. While the free version is great, it would be nice to have access to a few more advanced tools without upgrading.

Super useful

It's very useful at our company, we're happy to use it and keeps us organised.

Avantages

Easy to keep track of daily tasks, managing internal resources for projects, holidays.

Inconvénients

The fact that I can't copy the day to day tasks, I have to duplicate a full day. There's certain tasks per day like Admin Work, Slack and Email checks etc. that I would want to add each day to my productive budgets, but you can only duplicate a full day, not just a certain task. By task I mean the bullets under the project itself.

Productive Review

It is a cool tool and I see a lot of value. I would recommend looking at your competitors and find a way to make it more user friendly from the start. I would recommend having a "how to" section for first time users to learn more about the software.

Avantages

I thought this software offers more useful features than its competitors. The price is great. I like that you can assign team members and clients to tasks.

Inconvénients

I thought the software was difficult to understand, so did my team. As the admin, I wish I got more of an overview of everyone in each project. I felt like I had to search a lot to find the information I wanted.

Highly Recommended

Like mentioned earlier I really like the general feel of the app. It feels stable, and polished with every detail.

Avantages

It feels stable and polished. Jira integration works very well compared to Clockify for example.

Inconvénients

The UI might be simpler. The way how I use it doesn't require all the bells and whistles. What I'm essentially doing is logging the time for given tasks within projects.

I love it because being able to manage tasks, track time, share documents and plan resources from one place has greatly simplified the way I work.

An amazing tool that integrated our process seamlessly

It has been great. The team can have a bigger picture of the projects we're working on and we can quickly predict and assign tasks to everyone.

Avantages

The time tracking for each team member combined with the project management.

Inconvénients

For me, it still needs a lot of back and forwards between the menus to execute some tasks. But it's not something critical.

A great project management tool for us

Avantages

For us it is one of the best options out there. And I recommend it especially if you want to better understand, analyse and forecast the profitability per resources, services offered, projects and tasks.
In terms of task management it works smooth and easy, like any other premium task manager. The big differentiation comes in terms of budget tracking, expenses and resources overview. In the past 1.5 years since we use Productive.io it helped us to see some trends in terms of services that are profitable and see which clients / projects are not profitable. This way we managed to improve the overall performance of our business.

Inconvénients

- The onboarding / initial setup can take a bit. Nothing too bad, but you might need a couple of days to get used with the UX.

A great tool for agency work

Avantages

Productive is a very powerful tool covering basically all the tasks and processes related to project management, account management, reporting, planning of resources, managing the sales pipeline and many more.
It feels very modern and easy to use with really powerful features. Also, the product is constantly being improved with an active customer service.

Inconvénients

It takes some time to really onboard everyone and use it as a day to day tool. But that would probably be the case with every new tool introduced to the organization. Thus, not all the features must be used or be introduced at the same time.

Definitely the tool for a software agency

With Productive we have been able to grow our business significantly.
From around 50 employees to almost 300 today it has been able to handle and support our growth.
Without it, I am sure many operational areas would be harder and spread across multiple systems.
Also special praise to the support and customer success team who are extremely responsive to any questions and potential issues.
Looking forward to many new features in the future!

Avantages

The software has been extremely stable and reliable. Constant new features, as well as regular design updates. Features like forecasting and insights are next-level features.

Inconvénients

Maybe the area around customer/company data could be better handled.
I see the reason why it was set up in the way it was, but some more form in this area would have actually helped us.

Easy generated reports & great customer support

Avantages

- you can track tasks, estimates, worked time, billable time, revenue, costs, invoices, scheduling, time off and a lot more in one tool
- checkups and reporting is easier than ever since you can filter and sort all the parameters you want and just export into .xls, .csv or .pdf - voila
- their support is easy to reach (through the chat integrated to the same tool) and they are really responsive and fast
- they are constantly improving features, so every few weeks you can expect some beta to be released and tested with the real users

Inconvénients

- I don't like Productive's search functionality - it's not accurate enough nor fast enough
- Boards and tasks are sometimes hard to manage, especially if the project is big

Great software that has everything I need to run a profitable business.

Avantages

Productive is great because I have an overview of every segment of my company in one place. From sales, scheduling projects, communication management, employee management all the way to the reporting. We were paying multiple software apps, which was not only expensive but also confusing and time wasting. With Productive costs were cut down significantly. The support team is very responsive, always available and fast in helping us solve our issues.

Inconvénients

It takes some time for setting up the organization and getting everybody on board, but with Productive help center and their support team that was done in a jiffy. The software is a bit robust due to its wide pallet of functionalities, so it has a bit steep learning curve.

Great product

Avantages

Really great task management software with good ui. Regularly adding features and improving the product. I am a big fan.

Inconvénients

Better ui for sales would be good. Overall though the product is valuable for my team.

Review

We are implementing our entire project journey in Productive, as said above from sales towards invoicing. This goes quite smoothly, although fixing errors in the process is not always easy.

Avantages

If everything is configured properly, the flow of a project is very easy, from sales over project management towards invoicing, everything works very nicely.

Inconvénients

It is not very customizable, although they are working on it.

Intuitive and accessible

Inconvénients

Wish there was a way to create a unique number for each project to track projects numerically as new projects come in and make it easier to archive and retrieve in the future.

Hi there,

As you know, Projects are basically containers within Productive that hold Budgets. Since you can have multiple budgets within each project, we put more importance on the budgets themselves.

The number you are looking for is on the budgets, not projects.
