There are better, cheaper alternatives..
I have now moved away from using Mindbody as a booking platform - found cheaper, and more user friendly alternatives.
Avantages
Easy scheduling and visibility of class availability for customers, relatively easy use for studio staff.
Inconvénients
Quite pricey for functionality. Multiple logins required for multiple studios. Frustrating limitations for custom reports.

Mindbody - great options in theory, very glitchy in practice
Mindbody was what we used when rolling out an online wellness program during the pandemic - in theory it appeared to have everything we needed, but in practice the system was very slow and led to dissatisfaction with clients in terms of booking, payments, and access to online offerings.

Too many glitches in the system - payments, scheduling/signups, and livestreaming all had major issues

Very Easy To Use

One login multiple benefits. Fitness with a professional CRM behind it.
I've had no issues logging in and password changes also swift. Building a portfolio of studios where I work and being able to use one login at all of them is super helpful and saves time.
Avantages
I like the professional layout and ease of information at my fingertips when i log into one of the 25 studios I work at. Reports including personal review of my service and totals of clients visits, satisfaction and great CRM intuitivity.
Inconvénients
I would love one account in my email that lists all the locations I work at for ease of log in especially when working two different studios in one day.
The web version is okay but the mobile version can be laborious.

In general I have had an excellent experience. Since it is a very customizable platform, it would be wonderful if MBO offer "data input care" suggestions

Sometimes i have found reports having discrepancies between them, yes i am aware thaty it depends on how the information was input in the system. Also it creates "transactional" reports but "historic" reports tend to change over time. - Programming MBO culd be cumbersome

Mindbody: The Perfect Solution for Fitness Center Management & More!
I enjoy this product and it hasn't made me question whether to use a different management solution, this is the all in one package I was hoping for.
Avantages
I enjoy the simplicity & ease of use. As a manager who has used MindBody with two different fitness companies, I have enjoyed being able to keep track of my staff's punch cards, their training sessions, group exercise, and all of our products in one place. Running reports is a lifesaver because it helps me drive business and understand trends for the fitness clubs I manage.
Inconvénients
Some of the settings can get a little confusing at times, but support is always available so I never get stuck for long.

MindBody - Incompetent and Greedy
MindBody operates with defective information, illegal rules and horrendous support. Their customer support is poor and inconsistent. Multiple service employees who spoke to us never had the same answer. I purchased the license and merchant account in 2012, and always paid the fees through my bank account. They refused to send the 2012 contract. I know the license and merchant account contract states I am the purchaser and owner. However, they dod not consider me the owner; they told me my employee who was hired in 2018 was the owner and was the only one who could make requests or changes. In preparing to close down the business, MindBody insisted she was the owner even though she was on her way out. This is outrageous and illegal. In addition, last quarter, MIndBody forced our clients to switch to the new app even though many did not want to handle their sign ups and payment on the app. Poor way to treat my customers; we get the blowback for MindBody decisions. They finally now recognize that I am the owner when I want to cancel the contract as studio is closing. MindBody makes cancellation of the license and merchant account almost impossible and outright improper. Here is a recent example. We were told that we would have 90 days after the termination of the contract to download our information. Now, they are claiming that we have only 24 hours to download all of the information. Some information such as liability waivers had to be obtained on each client separately. We have over 800 waivers. Their solution is that we pay them $500 to download the information and send it to us. Extortion! This is only a few examples of how bad poorly MindBody has treated us. Their only concern is to squeeze as much money out of the business. They could care less that the studio is closing down. This is an incompetent, immoral and greedy company. Stay away from them and find a different software.

Poor and improper customer service to my studio and my clients. Inconsistent and totally incorrect information. We have called multiple times in the last two months, and we get different answers every time. MindBody’s modus of operandus is to protect themselves and their money stream. The customer does not matter.

Not great, but not bad. It'll work
It was okay. It was better than what we had been using previously.

It was easy to set up and use. Support was also available 24/7 even though it wasn't advertised as 24/7.

It was difficult to send emails out to members if we had any changes to our class schedules.

I always had a problem with how it was sold to me. There was no new customers coming from them and their marketing platform, also, it is extremely complicated to set up your pricing and processes for charging customers. When you need to change something or personalize it, its a pain.

Their customer service is trash. I was never listened to about my concerns or needs.

Robust functionality, software has issues
My overall experience was not great. Software has issues and add-on services have MAJOR issues. After years of trying to get customer service to remedy issues with add-ons and no resolutions I finally dropped all those services and eventually wound up getting a 3rd party partner to provide the services I needed.
Avantages
The core software has robust functionality, however the system is complex and not intuitive. I spent 6 years working in the software so I had learned over time how to accomplish what I needed to.
Inconvénients
The system has a lot of issues and bugs. You will frequently run into issues where payment processing is not working. The core software functions okay, but the major issues lie in the add-on services like MessengerAI, Branded App, and Marketing Suite. I've tried all of these add-on services only to find that they don't function as promised.

One of the best but highly priced
was really excited at signing up to Mindbody and used every resource they offered me. After a year it was becoming costly. I could only put my own clients through and a few integrations didn't work. For a high-priced product - and they are the best they would be a good 1 stop shop for many. My own situation, it was too expensive for the features on offer.
Avantages
Mindbody is feature-rich and takes away so many headaches with a booking system, payment system and holding client data. It freed up my time daily.
Inconvénients
The price. They specialise in gyms, salons and studio classes, all of which must be small businesses but the price doesn't reflect that at nearly £100 a month on the smallest package

Great Platform for Small Fitness Businesses
My experience has been great with Mindbody. It is allowing my students to easily sign up for my business services as well as buy membership packages. Some clients also discover my business, through the platform itself. I also use Mindbody for marketing purposes -- I can send out emails regarding studio events and news to keep clients engaged and informed.
Avantages
I love the ease of using the platform and the fact that I have everything in one place. The most recent feature -- contactless payments-- has been a game changer for our business. We are able to charge students who come into our studio using the business app from our phones. I also love that there is a marketing feature I can take advantage of to send out communications to our members, without having to pay for a separate service. Mindbody customer service has been excellent -- every time, I have an issue, they are quick to solve it for me and I don't have to wait on hold to reach an agent.
Inconvénients
Mindbody takes a lot of fees for new clients that sign up using the platform. On top of merchant credit card fees and the monthly subscription fee, it really reduces my margins.

Atrocious
It worked until it didnt. For a single site studio perhaps its still possible but anyone with no knowledge on how to find your own solutions do not use this product at all.
Avantages
Works to some extent. Seems to have all the basic functions a CRM should have. But in the most convulated way known to man.
Inconvénients
A rather long list.
1. Manual release of scheduling if youd like to do a specific release timing. You have to PHYSICAL PRESS A BUTTON in order to have a schedule released at a specific time and date. In a world where CRMS allow you to prebuild a schedule and release it at a specific time and date that you select, having to PHYSICAL PRESS A RELEASE BUTTON makes absolutely no sense.
2. A membership system that makes no sense. Clients arent able to suspend their membership and book for a class until the day the membership is unsuspended. IE if a client suspends a membership until 16th they cannot book for a class on the 17th until the day of the 16th actually arrives. This makes no sense whatsoever when a simple code can fix this.
3. Over promises a products functions. I was sold a Cross Regional product with the promise that my clients can book across studios seamlessly. They could not book without 10 million manual inputs and believe me it was not seamless. After numerous attempts by them to fix it. It to this day is not fixed and they will not let me leave the platform even after being proven that their solution is not work. When told of the issues I am told : " Thats a known limitation and is on the roadmap". No such thing was limitation was made known to me prior to signing.
This list can go on and on and on. If youre reading this and have a desire to have multiple studios or a product that is easy to use / manage. DO NOT USE MINDBODY.

Avantages
Nothing in particular. Very complicated system, not user friendly at all, too expensive plus they charge you with a Technical Account Manager fee on top of your monthly fee
Inconvénients
Very bad service. They constantly have bug issues which they cannot resolve for weeks and they dont care if your studio is loosing money in the meantime

Overall VERY Disappointed.
So far I have only been with Mindbody for 6 months. And it is a nightmare.
Avantages
I like that they had a marketplace with other business', and that you can run a new client special that people can easily see.
Inconvénients
I switched from wellness living to mindbody in January of this year. I thought it would make my life easier, but it has done quite the opposite. First off may I start with the fact that mindbody allows you to set up late/no show fees but does not charge the customer automatically. I would manually have to go in and do that myself. Also, the fact that they must be in a contract for them to even store a credit card to charge is ridiculous to me. Also, every time I call for help, I am told I must do everything myself in front of a laptop, half the time people spend forever trying to figure out what’s the issue and then just never solve it and send me a bunch of emails on step by step how to do it myself. Not very convenient. Another issue I have is that all my emails that get sent out for campaigns and advertising just go to all my clients spam folders. Which defeats the purpose because they can never see them, and apparently you must have a domain email instead of a Gmail for this to even be reversed. Having all my advertising emails go to client’s spam folder is HUGE and is super bad for the business. Their only advice is to buy a domain email, which Is much too late for my business to change my email now. OR to ask every individual client to add the email I have as a contact, which there is no easy way to do. You think oh just send them all an email to ask them. Oh, wait they still wouldn’t be able to see it. I also created a new client form that I wanted people to be required to sign just once for the remainder of their visits, and apparently, I would have to individually send it to ALL MY EXISTING CLIENTS for them to sign it. Which once again is a ridiculous request. To be honest I am highly disappointed with the software switch so far, and as a business owner I can't say I’m sure that I would recommend it. It has not at all been convenient for me, I must figure out everything on my own and every time I call for an issue I am placed on hold for an hour with the situation and then I get sent emails on how to fix it, and then I just never end up figuring it out. I think I spend even more of my time as an owner on the phone with customer service than I did with my last software, which is really disappointing. 90% of the time I get the answer from customer service, that they don’t know what the issue is. And I am like, well I don’t either considering I am just the owner of my own business? Then they just send me steps on how to fix it on their best guess of what the issue is. I don’t even see the point in customer service at this point.

Mindbody does it all!
Overall I'm very happy with Mindbody, having used it as a consumer in the past and now as an administrator/business owner. I have referred Mindbody to a friend with a business in Canada who was not happy with their booking software. They've since switched to Mindbody and are working on getting it set up to accommodate their business needs.
Avantages
I love Mindbody for the ease of scheduling clients in for appointments and the analytics are fantastic! I use them weekly to report sales to my accountant and review where my sales came from during a particular quarter. I adjusted my marketing approach as a result. I also really like the automations we can create so that clients are being welcomed, notified and asked for reviews at different stages of their experience with us. Thank you!
Inconvénients
It was initially challenging to get set up so that my branded website worked seamlessly with Mindbody. I had to switch from using the 'appointment' setup to a 'class' setup because my business is such that, I can have up to 11 people in my center for each 2-hour session I offer. It created a fair amount of work to re-do it all but once it was switched to classes, it's working fine.

The Worst Software Service Company!!
I am stunned to see even one positive review of this software and the company. We had the worst possible experience; nothing worked as promised. Customer service was rarely able to fix any of the issues we dealing with. We went from a completely booked schedule prior to MB, to a couple of appointments per day, almost all of which were booked over the phone. We lost thousands of dollars per month because of this software!!!! Our clients were so frustrated and the staff were beside themselves. After 4 months of trying to make this work for us, we finally gave up because NOTHING was fixed. To top it all off, we had to go with another platform and MB will not let us out of our contract even though we had such terrible experience, AND they won't let us drop down to a lower cost package even though we are no longer using them. We are stuck paying almost $1000 per month for their premium package that is not being used. I literally have never experiences such a complete and total disaster. We are now having to pay for two software platforms, MindBody, which is unusable, and then the one that actually works! BEWARE of this company!!!!

Customer service is abysmal. It takes 10 phone calls to find the one person who might be able to help, but then the fix doesn't work the next day. Onboarding, our guy missed our first two onboarding calls and then had the nerve to say, well you never took advantage of your onboarding. THIS SOFTWARE DOES NOT WORK as promised.

Nothing....you can have the best scheduling app ever but without customer support that can take up to 10 hours a week to obtain answers, stay on hold, repeat calls, confusion among the corporation of not writing things down from last conversation, it is not feasible to do business.
Inconvénients
Their customer support is non existent and you will waste more time on the phone than doing work. We had them for10 + years and finally gave up. When we tried to leave them, they made it impossible to receive our data which is our entire database. They lied to us and said our database was wiped out immediately but it wasn't. Our losses with this company were vast.

We have been using it since 2011 and not found a competitor that has all the same features.
Avantages
We run a large health club and MindBody has the features to allow us to run all the aspects of our business using the software. They also have excellent customer service.
Inconvénients
The reports should all have the option to allow comparision to the prior period, especially the sales reports. It should be easier to import a list of clients into Messenger to allow you to text a large group of clients.

Scaled TOO LARGE for a small salon.. on boarding will cost you. It is not included in your monthly. Click buttons will charge per click on your site. There are so many hidden charges.. any monthly subscription will be the beginning of spending. Someone has been pilfering in my account changing my subscription type when I haven't even been online.

Have been using Mindbody continuously over the past decade as the payment processing system for our business.

The price for my small business. Should find a way to price according to size. Also they added on the app if ppl found me through the app, MD takes a chunk out of it. Which is fine but clients don’t pay attention and choose that option and then I lose out.

My goto app for searching classes that are available for the time that I have carved out!
MindBody is my go-to app for seeing what is available in local classes. It is also my go-to app when traveling; when I find a few hours, I can use it for self-care. I have explored many courses I would never have considered without using MindBody as my primary search. More minor business schedules do not populate a standard Google search, so I always use MindBody first.
Avantages
I love that I can see many types of classes available during a time slot that I have available for self-care. My schedule is always shifting, and self-care time slots overlap with other obligations. MindBody shares what's happening now and in the future, allows me to explore options and book classes, and sends me a calendar link with mapping. I love this app!
Inconvénients
Having a time slot - mileage willing to travel - and available search options would be helpful.

It is well known and reliable for the most part. good customer service if there is an issue.
Inconvénients
The product search experience is terrible. If you include a space in the search that doesn't appear in the way the product was entered in system then it doesn't show up. for example I searched "post card" and nothing came up because it's listed as "postcard" in the system.

Overall a very positive experience and would recommend to others.

I like that the platform is becoming more full spectrum service. I can do a lot more than I used to be able to and I love the idea of one stop shop kind of experience. I don’t need multiple programs to run my business anymore.

Mindbody - enjoy it more as a user than a studio owner
I always used MB as a consumer and it was my go-to when traveling to find a studio or salon. This is why we went with this for our scheduling pos software for my studio when we opened. The cost and the lack of customer support and the confusing interface for us on the backend disappointed me as a studio owner.

I liked the reporting, the MB app, and the option to also have your own app.

The cost, the clunkiness of the backend software and the lack of customer support for the cost.

Great for Marketing Purposes

As a consumer, I think it is extremely beneficial to be able to see classes from different studios. And as a studio owner, there is a special piece of marketing that is connected to this platform.

I think from a studio standpoint, it can be difficult to manage all the features of mind-body.

I strongly caution against engaging with Mindbody for your business needs. The support provided by this company is shockingly inadequate and will leave you stranded when you need assistance the most. When seeking software solutions for your company, robust and reliable support is crucial – an aspect that Mindbody sorely lacks.
The system itself is plagued with numerous flaws that will inevitably disrupt your day-to-day operations. Any initial support you receive during the demo or sales phase is misleading, as it rapidly deteriorates once you've committed to their services. Mindbody's choice to hire overseas support staff results in poor communication and a distinct lack of understanding of their own system.
Attempting to obtain assistance becomes a frustrating endeavor. The overseas support team often puts you on hold while they familiarize themselves with the system's issues before attempting to provide an explanation. Presently, the company fails to provide adequate training and support for the team responsible for assisting you, leaving them seemingly lost. Attempts to escalate the issue and speak with someone senior go unanswered, leaving customers waiting for hours.
Unfortunately, after committing to an annual contract, you'll realize that you've invested considerable time and energy in inputting all your data into a system that proves to be unreliable. Transitioning to an alternative software solution and retraining your team becomes a daunting task, consuming a significant amount of time and effort.
As a busy entrepreneur, I find it impractical to dedicate the time needed to decipher the convoluted information on their website or endure the lackluster customer service. I strongly advise exploring alternative options for your business software needs, as Mindbody may prove to be more trouble than it's worth.

There are so many reasons why we use MINDBODY, the usability of the platform from a business and consumer perspective. It's globally recognised and I always enjoy the sharing of insights. Reports are easy to run and it adapts well to mobile use.
Our social marketing agency also uses MBO, so it makes our job easier.
Inconvénients
I sometimes find it can be clunky in terms of users journey/steps - you have to click back and forth, with too many clicks for each step. You also have to wait for the screen at each step.

Overall, it's good and does what we need.
Avantages
All the different reports are good. User interface seems pretty straight forward.
Inconvénients
Response lag. Contact Logs window doesn't close when you select one. Sometimes I would like to run reports with if/then options, but I've learned to work with what's available. I don't really like the marketing suite, but we don't pay for any add-ons either. It takes a long time to fix bugs.

Very Poor. Wouldn't recommend anyone to do business with Mindbody.

Nothing at all. My experience was different. Poor customer service, poor customer support. Generic emails that the support team is sending. The issue was that after my subscription, I couldn't have access to the app for two weeks. I ended up canceling the subscription.
Inconvénients
The so-called 3 months free promotion they have going on is not free. They will lock your account until the time expires. So basically scamming people.

Have mostly been good with overall customer support. There are some bugs in the system. It does have a nice scheduler but then doing all of other aspects of that are very difficult. Just not as great for clinic settings. I like it personally for gym type situations

Ok to start...
We had a decent run- but ultimately got priced out as the continual increases with out more features didn't make sense.

Pretty easy to use overall. We switched from a very basic software program so initially the features were nice and allowed for different sales paths that we enjoyed offering to clients.

Generally, I'm pretty happy with it. Just need to fix some of the bugs. For example, I can adjust a recurring "unavailability" on my phone easily to affect just that day. However, I do not have the ability to do the same on the computer browser.

MINDBODY is Functional, But Not Great
Help Desk is responsive and generally very helpful, except when they guess at the answer and leave us spinning.
It's very expensive.
I don't like the app. The views are not a good representation of what is really going on with a client's account. The app is difficult for clients to navigate, yet they don't like to use the web version because it is inconvenient.
Sales Team is generally unresponsive.

Mindbody is comprehensive but you only get value if you use all of the features
We had a very good experience with Mindbody and stayed with them for almost 10 years. Their customer support and broad range of services worked well for our diverse training programs. In the end, we switched because more players came to market at a lower price point, with exactly the services we needed.
Avantages
Amazing tech support both on the phone and online. A comprehensive suite of products that can handle many different gym setups with a wide variety of services. The mobile apps are great for trainers and clients to manage their training schedules.
Inconvénients
Mindbody has become increasingly more expensive over time. The tiered approach initially worked, but you really need to pay for the premium to get all of the features - many of which were not necessary for our needs. There is value only if you can leverage the entire suite of products.

Confusing but consistant
Mindbody has been a program we have been thinking about changing due to its inconstancies when it comes to information on clients/ patients making it harder for us to market to and get back.

Fast to respond and pleasant support team. Haven't had any sort of outage.
Inconvénients
Marketing text can have scheduled time to send text. Insites tabs don't all correspond and require multiple different topics to get the info we need. When creating list for emails / text I have to download list, save a new excel file and re-upload wasting time. emails don't match when sent and viewed through phone. Notes do not allow enough text without buying an external application.

I have been using it for 10+ years as an instructor and studio manager. It is quite basic and easy to understand but some things really need improving.

HORRIBLE! Do not use Mindbody. Their customer service is awful. Everything is automated. Your account rep will ignore you--if you even know who your rep is. They over charged me and locked me into a contract I was never aware of. STAY AWAY!
