Avantages

The interface is easy to set up and use. The app is also very good. Customer service is very helpful.

Inconvénients

The vineyard module is a little confusing with respect to calculating yields but otherwise it is fine.

Avantages

Initially, the user interface was what attracted us to the software. It looked intuitive and easy to use. There are plenty of features that if utilized correctly, are a great benefit to the production of the company.

Inconvénients

The UI was more clunky that it seems. If a mistake is made, it can be difficult to amend something that should be easy enough to just fix. There are other production softwares that simply do a better job with ease of use and onboarding a team.

Avantages

This platform is heavily skewed to Cellar Management and our Winemaking team are pretty happy with how they can produce Work Programs and manage fruit intake, cellar operations and the wines generally.
From the bottled goods end, it works well for packaged inventory management and dispatch

Inconvénients

COGS are tricky to get super accurate.
We can't customise invoicing or the Dashboard, which has been designed purely with Cellar management in mind.
Being based in Australia, the invoicing simply cannot handle the WET tax calculations so we are having to do these manually to ensure we are compliant with ATO requiremnts.

Avantages

We can run all of our winemaking work orders, analysis, volume tracking, costing, etc through this system. It handles all of our production needs and keeps it all in one spot for everyone to see and reference. It gets us out of spreadsheets all of the time and streamlines workflow. It allows us to make better wine!

Inconvénients

I would love to see some things consolidated into one space rather than being able to do most of what you need in a few different spots. Better all inclusive views of fermentation management, better all inclusive views of topping management. Tighter integration with analysis results. But we love it!

- No ability to dispatch a Sales Order more than 24 hours in advance
- Would like the ability to group data more efficiently. No ability to allocate stock items by SKU, Brand, Vintage, Variety, Region, etc when creating the stock item
- Sales Orders automatically close once saved. Need to go back into the SO to click on the Xero link to invoice the customer
- When correcting a dispatch, the volumes of each stock item revert to zero. The volumes should remain so that you dont need to re-enter all volumes - especially if you are only correcting one

Avantages

I like it has the potential to be an intergrated package that works well in not only the manufacturing but right through to the finance and invoice. Inconsistencies make it difficult to trust.

Inconvénients

Intergration options with Xero or other accounting software packages. Attention to detail is not their. E.g. on sales orders you have to sometime click the dates multiple time for it to register correctly. Reporting is terrible and limited compared to other sofware packages and requires a great deal of time and manipulation in excel to extract the information required for production, marketing and finance. Inability to customise simple things like an invoice. Or the template for sending invoices. The email sent to clients is extremely unprofessional but can not be changed. the only option is to email information to myself and update the correct working or download the sales order and send as attachment. Not professional at all.

Avantages

You can tailor to the program to your specific needs. It's very easy to use, and you can set up the program in a way that makes the most sense for your winery/business. Once you get the hang of it's features, and how to navigate through the program, it is very easy to use and understand how to operate the vintrace system. It's very user friendly.

It is easy to train people on how to use the interface in the winery.

Inconvénients

It can be a bit daunting at first glance. Sometimes it can be a bit too open ended, and will take a bit of trial and error to set up systems to work the way that is best for your company/day-to-day use.

Avantages

Mostly we enjoy using the software for tracking our inventory internal and external, performing sales orders and purchase orders, as well as tracking every stage of our product which gives us a great break down of our COGS.

Inconvénients

It can be a little fiddly and difficult to understand and set up. But this is only because the software is so large and covers so many aspects that it means there is a lot to learn. Once the initial set up is in place it functions very well.

Avantages

In my experience Vintrace is significantly easier to use than the main competitor - there are literally less key strokes to access the same data, and the interface is intuitive. With relatively little training we can have 'light' users of Vintrace doing things like adding lab analysis. Heavy users (winemakers) need more experience and training to get the most out of the software, but the help desk is easy to access and can generally answer questions in the moment while on the phone. The phone app is a terrific recent addition - walking around the tank farm I can easily look at composition or lab results. I can make tasting notes or other little reminders without having to be at my desk.

Inconvénients

There is not much to dislike, but if I have to find a criticism, I wish the work sheets were easier for cellar hands to read. But as I write this I'm thinking I should take this up with the help desk as there is probably a simple fix to present worksheets in a custom template?

Avantages

At a basic level of just writing and updating job notes Vintrace is easy to use. It is also really well set up when you are viewing a product to look at all the different aspects such as lab, composition and additions.

Inconvénients

The new vessel search feature is a bit ugly and not the easiest to use. It can be annoying when it keeps clearing the search if you go into a product and then come back out without clicking on the correct link.

Avantages

There are many capabilities that may or may not be utilized, depending on how in depth you want your tracking to be. The system can track everything from wine compositions and gallons and equipment and storage and dry goods inventory and costing all in one place. You may choose to use all or only some of the functions which makes it pretty versatile for different business models.

Inconvénients

- Unable to perform topping from more than one topping vessel at one time.

- There is "time-tracking" of labor for completed work orders, but not a way to export this data in a manner in which beneficial to track labor costs. Generating reports from this data would he helpful.

- CSV files generated are not very "clean" looking. I always have to do a lot of reformatting in order to be able to send a clean looking excel report to clients and other staff.

- Client logins where they can generate their own work orders for custom crush would be a plus.

It is very intuitive to use and has a lot of depth, the phone app is great also.

Organized data with easy access to most features. Easier DMA data uploading adds way more points which we have been waiting for 5 years. Mass data uploading is also a great help.

Would have been good to add function to email/in-system notify someone say winemaker if result is abnormal. Or options to choose to be notified or to track specific tank if someone else update the result which is in high importance. At the moment we are using email but would be so much easier if it's included in Vintrace.

It is very easy to use. There are a lot of features that make Vintrace very powerful and you can get a lot out of it.

Topping barrels can be a little annoying with having to break a barrel group to then top them if you are using different wines to top with or get an accurate amount into specific barrels

Avantages

Vintrace has a good traceability of the fruits/wine and addition products. Also, good import/export system between the other software or between the other wineries.

Inconvénients

It is difficult to handle a barrel, control/track a single barrel, or join a barrel to the barrel group.

Avantages

I've only started using it less than a year ago. It wasn't necessarily easy to get used to it, but once you start using it on a daily basis, it becomes a real tool and helps you keep track of your wines and jobs.

Inconvénients

The helpdesk could be more interactive. I struggled learning how to use it and the assistance hasn't been great. I would have liked a bit more guidance from a Vintrace staff to help me get my head around it and gain some speed.

I believe Vintrace should be integrated with other viticulture software's.
Integration is the key for the future.
