A complete customer support platform
Integration is super easy and the documentation is easy to follow. We've been using Intercom for over 2 years now and absolutely love it. The product has streamlined all our customer support needs.
Avantages
Intercom is a comprehensive suite of all applications you would need for support management, from live chat to help desk and ticket management. This negates the need for having multiple different applications and integration overhead.
Inconvénients
No complaints about the product whatsoever. The product is actively evolving and keeps up with the current technologies.

Intercom has a buffet of features
Overall, our main aim was for the chat bot functionality and for our conversations to lead to onboarding clients. Intercom has helped us achieve this.
Avantages
The most I like about Intercom is the varied options of features it offers. Not only do they allow manual chats, they also introduced Fin, their AI bot and have other options for email marketing, product tours and others.
Inconvénients
Because there are so many features, it seems difficult to learn about each of them. I am unsure where to look for the instructions and prefer videos over articles that Intercom seems to have.

A great chat tool but expensive for startups
Avantages
UI/UX of Intercom is greatly down and can be seen as an inspiration to a lot of its competitors. Once the settings is up, Intercom generally handles all of the chats and leads seamlessly
Inconvénients
If you are a small customer, customer support is not really there for you. Fixes and patches takes some time. Plus it's fairly expensive.

All in one support tool that can grow with you from early stage startup to established...
Very positive and I would recommend Intercom to any early stage startup to apply for the Startup programme in order to get A LOT of functionality and bang for your buck. We have used Intercom from when it was just 2 [sensitive content hidden] to now a company of 50+ people, you don't need to waste time looking for another tool as it can grow with you.
Avantages
The conversation routing bot was extremely easy to set-up and empowered us to streamline and automate our customer service and support processes. Furthermore, the ability to add-on features and functionality, such as WhatsApp integrate, was great to allow us to customize what we needed for our business.
Inconvénients
Without the startup programme the pricing is quite aggressive with a basic package starting from $74 / month. Therefore, you really need to invest some time to set-up Intercom to add as much value as possible because it is pricey vs alternatives.

Best CRM for Startups and Small company !
Intercom helped us to embrace the *fear* of customer interaction and how it's important to communicate and interact with your community. It took us some time to understand and embrace it but after practicing and using their tools, it gave us the opportunity to learn more about our members.

Intercom have helps us so much to embrace our members and have an active relationship with them.One of the things that is very helpful is its user-friendly interface. The platform is easy to navigate, and it has a clean and organized layout that makes it simple to find what you need.The chat feature is intuitive and easy to use. It has allowed us to be quick and efficient with our communication when our customers are struggling with our services.Lastly but not least, the integrations are super important, so I do appreciate that it has a variety and range of important software app like Slack, Sendgrid, Gmail and social media because it helps us to keep the communication and interaction in one place !!
Inconvénients
I think the only thing that was hard to adapt on, it's the price. We had a super amazing one year trial as a startup but, if you're still struggling and you loose your startup perk. It can hurts on the pocket if you start to pay the real price. So, we had to keep our service on the minimal settings to avoid paying a price that is still yet difficult for us to pay.

Not great for scale
Intercom works for small scale if you need something in a pinch. Once you start growing, the functionality and the price becomes too much. It worked well for what it was but we had to move away.
Avantages
This is a very easy software to deploy, it's as easy as building the messenger and copy and paste the code into Production. The interface is very easy to maneuver with building the Bots including a flow or a tile sequence, the reporting is ok.
Inconvénients
The reporting could be better, it's hard to translate some of the metrics in Intercom with industry standards. (First response time = Avg Wait, Response Time = Avg Hold, Time to Close = Handle Time). Once you start working with multiple Teams, the reporting gets to be too much. The push of Ai and Resolution Bot isn't great, both of them are still in their infancy and you gotta go custom if you're going to build a Bot. Integrations with other systems - forget about it

We have absolutely loved our experience with Intercom, however when our discounted plan runs out we will most likely be switching to a different tool.

Customers ping us with questions that immediately are notified on Slack. Though intercom is complex to setup, I couldn't have imagined doing without them.

This software help me a lot!
Avantages
Intercom makes it simple to interact with customers; its simple and user-friendly design allows me to easily start and maintain discussions. Furthermore, its customization options enable me to personalize communications to certain customer types or deliver targeted messages based on automated triggers. I really appreciate how Intercom can be coupled with other platforms such as Salesforce and Zendesk, which allows me to communicate with clients in a number of ways. The reporting capabilities of Intercom are particularly beneficial for identifying user activity and responding fast to customer needs. Overall, Intercom is a great tool for staying in touch with customers, whether through newsletters or automated support.
Inconvénients
The intercom system has been commendable, with only a few minor hiccups or delays here and there which are understandable. Apart from that, it functions without a hitch, and this is a testimony to the diligent work put in by the development team. Their efforts have been invaluable in ensuring a smooth operation of the intercom system.

Inconvénients
Sometimes there is a lag in intercom and some data metrics are harder to find than others. Also the connection with other platforms could be easier.

Easy to use
Easy to communicate with our partners who are having IT issues. Responses are immediate and the notifications are most helpful o know when a specific chat is assigned to me.
Avantages
I Love the custom macros and AI assitance. I also love the ability to see a partner's previous chat in case they open a new chat but are referencing their previous conversation.
Inconvénients
I wish I could create my own custom macros instead of only using company made macros. Also, I wish I could adjust the notification settings on my mobile app to set a specific ring tone.

No support, outrageous pricing and shady billing practices
We used to love it but their pricing is exorbitant and opaque. Once you are in a one year contract good luck getting hold of anyone to cancel it. They take over a day to reply and send you some minimal canned answer. There's nowhere in the interface where you can cancel or modify for the next billing period. and the whole thing is set to auto renew by default. Used to like them, now hate them in the extreme.
Avantages
The actual product works well. We'd have stayed using it for a long time if not for the changes in their billing and support.
Inconvénients
The support is now the minimum it could possibly be, even if you are spending $1200 a month with them. Good luck getting hold of someone. If it were to sell us some new aspect they'd probably reply in a snap.
