The ability to see the structure, moving pieces and results of your individual email campaigns make this a product that stands out to me, having used similar products before. For those who are more advanced users and those non tech savvy, it will be easy to pick up on and learn the systems basic functionality.

Inconvénients

The front end side including the menu structure and ease of navigation is an area that can be most improved, to make it easy to track your activity history and make changes to items you recently updated.

Avantages

The platform is functional and sufficient for a few newsletters/emails without the need for perfect templates.

Inconvénients

It is very difficult to design a newsletter using their drag-and-drop feature. You should not be too demanding on the design. Moreover, analytics are also limited compared to competing tools.

I liked its reputation score feature a lot, I don't know how reliable it is but its great to know. I also liked the UI compared to the tools, it looks refreshing and provides a great UX.

Avantages

Sendgrid is the best transactional and programmatic email marketing platform. Great sender reputation, easy drag and drop editor for transactional and promotional emails, cheap, easy set up, great support. I literally can not say enough good things about Sendgrid.

The marketing automation is currently basic, but it was just created and they have a good timeline for new features and further segmentation.

We just wanted to use this to have a managed service that would insure we don't end up on spam lists. We had a few emails get rejected, so rather than try to manage it, we wanted to oursource it. Sendgrid is a complete waste of money. When you pay, you get lumped in with the "free" accounts. They then get put on blacklists, and SendGrid does nothing about it other than tell you to pay more. What is the point in the "essential" package if you just get lumped in with free?

The product is super reliable, you can trust on it that every email will be send. Also there are a lot of features, from own IP adresses to a drag-and-drop editor built in.

Our non profit selected SendGrid after recommendations from other groups in our organization. After we got through the extensive set up it has been easy to use. I had to create a how to video to orient other users, but the program can be used by others.

Set up required we hire an IT expert as it was well beyond even our most tech savvy member.
The set up instructions were not intuitive and assumed someone with an IT background was accessing them.
Customer service to assist in set up was lacking.

You don't need to be familiar with code to be able to make a great-looking email.

Inconvénients

Some of the setup is confusing, although this is the case with any email server. Also, for the same email in different languages, it's unclear if you need a whole new template per language (which is how we use it).

E-mail Tracking: sent, bounce, opens and clicks. SendGrid capture all this data for your transaction email, you just had to set up your webHook and It's done.

Transactional Templates: Is very easy create e-mail template for your SaaS using SendGrid.

I know that SendGrid offers Marketing and Campaigns mails, but I didn't use this service yet.

Avantages

The ease of use and the ability to customize through their API is extremely easy. The reporting aspect is easy to use and great to incorporate into daily metrics.

Inconvénients

We did the SendGrid Consultation to get our reputation better. Although they gave good insight I thought the value we got out of it didn't offset the actual cost. Also, to keep an ongoing report, it was additional money that was a bit pricey.

Avantages

I love their detailed documentation of how to implement the service with our Saas Product and in case you are stuck with anything their support is always hands on to get you get started and improve.

Inconvénients

I wish they had better pricing or more emails in the paid tier. Well good service costs money :-)

Avantages

The functionality of the software is great, sending through SMTP or API calls are quick. Very reliable tool to use for sending mass emails.

Inconvénients

Not a fan of their support. There is no number to call, cannot contact support without logging in, which is an issue when they lock out your account.
Their support teams takes too long to contact you, and they are bad at following up.

As the title says, SendGrid are rock solid. They offer huge lengths of functionality to ensure mail stability, reliability and deliverability. Issues with deliverability are easily identified and resolved with their own tools. Love it.

Report exports could be faster. That is such a minute complain though, and makes next to no difference to the working day.

Contacted support the last 2 weeks about 100 times, with a lot of promises to solve this soon and 14 days later it still doesn't work. All the E-Mails we sent during that time untill we noticed it (2 days) are just lost. That are hundreds of replies by our customer agents, where the customers never get any reply from us.

Also, Sendgrid blocked any payment account changes, that they are still able to get the money from us.

The ease of use and consistency of the platform are top notch, also integration wise it works perfectly with our stack.

Never had an issue I couldn't solve with the SendGrid team. Really impressed about the responsiveness.

SendGrid doesn't work, and is a complete and utter waste of time and money. Despite that, to my knowledge, no one has died from using SendGrid. Only "pro" I could think of.

We estimate 25% to 50% of our transactional emails send via SendGrid's shared IP are blocked as spam. These are email verification links we're sending, and have only used the service for emails of this sort. These undeliverable emails prevent members from joining our organization. It took us a while to realize how bad the deliverability issues had gotten. I would suggest avoiding SendGrid at all costs, as we found it to be a most expensive mistake.

Easy to integrate with different types of backend, I tried it in nodejs and ruby and it just worked. one of its nice feature is the email builder that allows you to drag and drop as you customize the reusable email templates, this boots productivity by much. I would highly recommend this to non coders as an easy implementation.

Most things are well documented but somethings are missing like receiving external emails via sendgrid webhooks wasn't clearly documented so we had to go around it.
another issue was not being able to properly filter all outgoing emails in sendgrid dashboard.

Avantages

SendGrid is very easy to integrate into existing systems and their API is top notch. The service performs very well and we have not had any issues in this regard. The service has also been very stable with issues very few and far between.

Inconvénients

It is a little on the expensive side. Some of the features are a little limiting in certain circumstances, e.g. batch sends with subusers. The web UI can be a little clunky at times.

Lots of features for transactional e-mail and marketing, great UI, price is reasonable if you can get it to work

Trying to implement a simple contact form through Sendgrid's Web API is worse than pulling teeth, and the documentation has different code library examples scattered around the web, nothing works. Ridiculous that Sendgrid doesn't publish a common use example for PHP. Those developers may think they did, but they didn't. And support takes their sweet time, and they won't help with your PHP code at all. So guess what? Leaving Sendgrid. Simple.

For my volume of email, it's a FREE service.
Allows me track my emails through the delivery process, and manually resend when necessary.

The FREE service does not allow you to use CHAT support. I'd be willing to pay for this feature!
They use to move me to better IP groups when the IP group I was in became blacklisted, now they don't.
The NEW version of their website's User Interface is not as good for me as the previous version was.

Twilio provides different ways to integrate with SendGrid to send SMS messages both in one to one and bulk way.

There is a limit to send messages from one single provider, and for this need to subscribe with multiple accounts and which is tedious process.

The interface seems to be quite professionals. They also offer an abundance of documentation in regards to your sending. They offer additional services to improve deliverability and if you are to send usual promotional emails you can use the warmed up IPs from their essentials package. If you are sending transactionals I would have to recommend only PRO accounts.

They currently lack substantial features in contact list management ( a bit rigid). They do have an automation feature in BETA that seems to be coming together but still waiting for an official version.

Excellent API to send transactional emails. We use this to send welcome emails, lost password, renewal reminders, etc... but we also use this to send emails to customers who don't open our original newsletter messages sent from another ESP (using a different from email and subject). This has substantially boosted our open rates because I trust that Send Grid's email gets through.

Very little useful integrations. Most of it is barebones to the core, the minimum so it qualifies as a proper mailing platform. Others are much better. You can't even put emojis on emails.

Everything. FIrst of all it didn't send campaigns properly so we had to beg customer support to make it work, and they would take their time, and we lost campaign timings so leads got cold. We lost ROI because of that. And they wouldn't make a discount or refund despite us losing money was their fault.

Sendgrid manages and distributes all of our email notifications to the clients. We normally send about 10,000 + a day and this program lets us monitor who's received it and who's spammed or bouncing them back.

Inconvénients

The layout is hard to navigate if you're logging in for the first time. It does get easier. I wish there was more criteria to search for. Error message reasons do not make sense sometimes.
