Great authoring tool with great support

The transition from docs as code to Document360 has been very smooth. The support team has been there every step of the way and is very available whenever I have needed help. I always have a response within 24 hours and then receive updates regularly about the progress.

Our main pain points with our previous documentation method, docs as code, were the lack of authoring features, the time spent on maintaining the front-end website, and unreliable or outdated content. Document360 has helped us to resolve each one of these problems. The authoring tools such as the review workflow for better collaboration, versioning, the glossary, templates, and content reuse have been essential to us. The ability for readers to leave feedback has also been a welcomed feature.

Avantages

I love how easy and intuitive the interface is to use. I'm able to write, manage, publish, and customize everything from the same location smoothly and easily. The content editor has all the necessary features and more. Furthermore, the support team is always open to feedback to improve it. The article versioning capabilities are more helpful and intuitive than git or other tools. This allows me to get my work done quickly and effectively to publish on time and revert to any previous version if needed.

It is very easy to fully customize the produced KB website to fit our needs. I a not a developer and don't like to spend my time fiddling with the front end but it has been very to customize and make changes. The support team is also very helpful and punctual when I've needed help to customize certain elements.

Inconvénients

Some of the features available through Document360 are only available via add-ins and not by default, meaning the overall cost can increase depending on your needs.

An Excellent Knowledge Base Platform

I've used many knowledge base platforms over the years to create, review, and curate large documentation repositories and they've all had their drawbacks. Document360 manages to be both feature-rich and easy to use, which is a combination you rarely see. The platform is so good, in fact, that we've migrated all of our documentation to it. What I like best about Document360, though, is the team behind it. The Kovai team clearly cares about the customer experience and building the best knowledge base platform out there. They are proactive, respond quickly and clearly when assistance is required, and clearly care about delivering a platform that provides a great customer experience. I'd recommend Document360 to anyone seeking an intuitive, modern knowledge base platform.

Beware: Not for Startups

Nasty. Not happy at all. The website clearly states for qualifying startups, which we were, no charge for 6 months with a card. Not the case at all. Stay away.

Avantages

Started off well and then as a startup we were hit with a $11,000 bill.

Inconvénients

Startup program is fake just to get you in the door and adding documents, then they hit you with a very large cost.

Powerful solution and fantastic support team.

I've been using doc360 in my current workplace on an almost daily basis for 2 years and I have to say that it's an incredibly powerful platform which offers almost all the functionality we require to meet our needs for publishing a technical help center.

Avantages

I've never experienced any bugs while using it and have always found the user experience very smooth. One of the main positives of using doc360 is the incredible support and technical teams, they seem to always be available during work hours in the CET timezone and I regularly use the chat function to get immediate help. They always go the extra mile to find solutions to coding issues and every individual I've interacted with is friendly and helpful. I also like that I have the option to edit the code of an article if I can't achieve what I want to using the normal editor.

Inconvénients

The main issue I have with doc360 is sharing previews. I'd like a similar functionality to Figma, where I can share prototypes with colleagues that don't have Figma accounts. I often spend a lot of time removing and adding new team account users just so I can share a preview with a colleague on a particular project. Doc360 have now introduced a new review role but it comes at a cost, which isn't ideal, I think it should be a basic function available in any package, as receiving feedback from colleagues is an essential part of the content writing process.

Document360 for technical writing

My overall experience with Document360 has been highly positive. After using several documentation tools in my career, Document360 is by far the most efficient and user-friendly. The platform has greatly improved my workflow, from content creation to analytics, allowing us to deliver better support to users based on their behavior and needs. It’s an invaluable tool for any technical writer.

Avantages

The easy-to-use editor and content reuse tools are standout features. The platform’s rich analytics provide valuable insights into user behavior, helping us understand what information our users are searching for and which pages are most visited. The Glossary popups that appear when hovering over terms offer a clean way to present descriptions without overwhelming the main content. This makes it much easier to provide targeted support and continuously improve the documentation.

Inconvénients

While Document360 is a robust tool, there can be a slight learning curve when it comes to fully utilizing all its advanced features. However, this is a minor issue compared to the overall functionality.

Just what our users required: easy to use and easy to find information

I tested a number of products and Document360 was the easiest to use as well as being very powerful. For example, during the trial, it took only a couple of hours to create a great looking home page.
We now use Document360 as our main documentation tool as it is very easy to create and maintain content.

Avantages

The responsiveness to requests. The Document360 team are constantly improving and already great product by listening to their user base and adding features to make life easier for the developers suing it to create content. For example, we have multiple versions of each product in our suite and Document360 allowed creating a copy of an article to use as the base for a new version, but with hundreds of articles this was still time-consuming. Now they allow duplicating (cloning) whole categories, meaning we can clone a version as the basis for the next product release in minutes! We asked for it and Document360 delivered.
Another example, we use the markdown editor and they have recently added spell-checking to this editor which was asked for and is a great addition.

Inconvénients

The advanced search is very powerful but includes filtering that we don't want so would prefer not to display to our users.

Document360 - Premier Documentation Tool

Excellent product and customer experience. This is the premier tool to help manage customer and internal documentation. The tool is rich in features and their support team is very responsive.

Avantages

Document360 is a powerful and versatile knowledge base solution with its user-friendly interface, rich feature set, and strong integration capabilities. Its strengths lie in its ability to facilitate efficient documentation management and enhance team collaboration.

Inconvénients

The only minor issue we had was that our CSRs were switched several times but this did not take away from the quality of the support we received from Document369.

Best on the market

Avantages

Document 360 is an easy to use tool with a wide range of features that can be used to enhance documentation. The application is flexible and allows for easy management of your knowledge base. The Home page Builder allows for great customisation options, as well as being easy to use. The support team is attentive, and the development are always making new changes that greatly improves the application.

Inconvénients

The editing tool was buggy in places
The Broken link analyser never updated meaning fixed links were still recorded as broken. It’s unclear whether I should use my limited Validate Links button

Highly consumerized, intuitive and valuable knowledge management tool for our org!

Our training and development content was all over the place earlier, with no historical data available to new team members. With D360, we've been able to streamline both, our induction procedure as well as our continuous learning programs.

Avantages

-The tool is highly intuitive to use- with detailed list panel and heirarchial view makes it very easy for new and old employees to navigate.-It's a very effective repository with almost an MS word like UX-Sophisticated UI

Inconvénients

As an admin and user, there's no specific issue that I've faced in terms of the actual functionality as well as admin level capabilities.

Love Doc360, migrated from Paligo/Zendesk - but the support is the best part

We are about to launch the product, and we are super excited. We did an internal soft launch and we have already received a ton of positive feedback about the look and feel, the useability, and the search ( which was a huge thing for us)

-I love how easy the platform is to use.-the UI is absolutely incredible-post migration, customization is completely ready out of the box-their customer and technical support is unmatched - they answer 24/7 and I always feel like they are taking care of me

Inconvénients

-the sales process could be a little more transparent. They had a price change that was coming up but didn't indicate how much the price would change, it almost made them irrelevant for us, but they were willing to work with us <3

First Year with Doc360

It's been a successful first year with Document360, we have setup a thorough knowledge base and have been able to work together as a team to quickly publish and update help articles. Nisath and his team have been responsive to our questions.

Avantages

It is easy to create and publish articles. The site allows for several categories that are easy to navigate for our clients. It was easy to implement the tool. Our team has been using Doc360 for a year now and we have created an extensive help site that is useful to our users. It is easy for us to publish and update articles quickly when we release a new feature or need to update an exisiting help article.

Inconvénients

We have had a little trouble with the commenting tool. I think some of this stems from navigating between their new editor and old editor and some of our comments disappearing, but we hope as our entire team migrates to the new editor this will be less of an issue.

Excellent experience. The tool is very powerful and easy to use and the customer service are very responsive and proactive.

Avantages

Ease of editing and immediately getting it online. Snippets (reusable content, editable from a central location), table editor, versioning of each article - easy to return to an old version and/or compare with the current one. Customer service is very responsive and helpful!

Inconvénients

Collaboration features could be better. Not easy to get non-writers like PMs to collaborate in Document360.

One of the best Knowledge Base softwares out there.

Avantages

I loved all the functionality it had. The different category structures, the ease of use, the glossary and little features that were icing on the cake.

Inconvénients

I was not a huge fan of their customer support. They were a bit confusing when talking to them. They also CC'd me on emails for other businesses communicating with support. I was having to email them and let them know to stop CCing me. It was very strange. The software itself is amazing.

Intuitive platform for sharing company information/documentation

Document360 one solution for External and Internal usage.

If you won't get something done by yourself support will help you ASAP. Pretty everything is covered by documentation so it is easy to manage almost any sophisticated requirements.

Avantages

We managed to satisfy both types of requirements in one Knowledge Base for external clients (easy access public URL, fast onboarding) and internal users (restricted access, hierarchy of articles and roles). Best for its price.

Inconvénients

Not 100% flexible, if you want full customisation, but developers are always glad to help.

Inconvénients

- The text editor isn't the most intuitive to use and lacks features compared to competitors in the market. I'm excited to see the new editor as it is very one track at the moment with not a lot of tools to help make your content stand out. For this reason as well it maybe doesn't offer the same value for money as other platforms out there.

Intuitive and Easy to Use Platform

Doc360 is a platform that you can figure out quickly and have a help center site up and running quickly. Their support team is very responsive and their account representatives are always willing to lend a helping hand.Creating articles is very easy and you do not need to know how to code at all. However, if you do then you can further customize your site as much as you would like.The most appealing aspect is they are constantly working on new features and listening to their community based on their feedback on a regular cadence.

Inconvénients

-The page format is set in one format with a table of contents on the right and the categories on the left. Adjusting these requires specific custom coding.-Changes to the custom code don't automatically save and require you to manually do it each time-Searching within the custom code isn't possible-Hard to find where a broken link is on a page-Analytics only goes back 30 days without paying for a larger timeframe

Ease of use and great user experience
