Other than Slack and e-mail, Coda is the main infratstructure for our organization. The flexibility and being able to set everything up and automate exactly to our liking is fantastic

Inconvénients

It's a fairly new product, which means that there's (almost) constantly UI changes going on. Performance could be better too, and interdoc connection is missing.

Avantages

The flexibility of both setting up and using Coda is by far the best of any similar service I have tried. Whatever your needs are for a database-type service Coda will tick most, if not all boxes. Build the database exactly to your liking and expand when needed. The team also constantly works on implementing improvements based on user feedback. They also keep developing new features.

Inconvénients

They do not offer a lot of options when it comes to formatting and visual layouts. For example, you are bound to only two fonts: one serif and one sans-serif. Granted, you can play around with italics and bold types but you are pretty limited in your choices, at least for now.

The customization options are a big plus, which made us choose Coda in the first place.

Where do I start....I personally don't like the interface. It feels chaotic in terms of organizing documentation.

Avantages

It's fast, flexible, and brings in the features you'd expect from a collaboration tool...and even some welcome surprises. It integrates with most systems and provides powerful sharing and privacy controls to support a company wiki.

Inconvénients

The paid "Doc Maker" license is frustrating because it either forces you to spend money on a license for someone to create documents, or if you're being prudent it almost creates a disincentive for someone to share knowledge. Pricing needs a fix.

Avantages

I like the easy of use of this tool. It’s like having the best of Google Docs, and Google Spreadsheets all in one place. You can customize almost everything! And it has great integrations with third party applications, plus you can connect through multiple API client libraries.

Inconvénients

At the very beginning, our team experienced performance issues. The tool is so robust that needs memory and some browsers were not supported.

However, as Coda grew as a company, performance issues are not a thing anymore and their support team was super diligent at helping us optimize our docs.

East to document and collaborate in one single place. It combines the functions of google docs/sheets etc and keeps them in one centralized document/place.

Also only pay per doc maker, not per user.

Inconvénients

Nothing I dislike about the product, just wish I knew some more coding to really take my docs to the next level

Avantages

Looks more corporate than notion, and this allows to sell the tool to managers that still believe have a share folder in Google Docs is where documentation should be. On the other hand, it is more focus to be a company wiki place than a personal place to save your notes, documents etc.

Inconvénients

If you want to work big documents o sheets, CODA is not the place. I tried to use CODA as a place to save all the feedback from my users and the bigger the file, the slow the tool become, or you need a great computer to run the application correctly.

A one stop shop where we can build collaborative project hubs, coordinate tasks and deliverables, integrate with Jira and provide daily project statuses to clients and internal teams.

Inconvénients

Formulas and connectors are not easy to navigate and training our internal teams has been a challenge

Coda is simple to use and easy to share pages with colleagues. As a knowledge management tool or collaboration tool it gets the job done without a steep learning curve.

Coda felt like it had limited capabilities to make deeply customizable content like tables or pages with diverse content.

I love the overall flexibility of Coda. The customization is the main selling point for me. I typically use Coda for project management. Workflows are easy to setup. Live Document editing with the templates offered look sharp, and Coda has the ability to turn those pages straight into web pages. It great for collecting all of the team data and creating a quick proof for our client.

Inconvénients

The free version really isn’t worth using. However, it’s a good way to see the capabilities of the program. Once we tried the free, I quickly purchased the team plan. It was well worth the money.

You’ll need some tech know-how and team training to get it up and running. However, once everyone is on board, it’s a massive time saver, flow optimizer and even creativity booster.

If you are technical but can't code, this is your super power. It will allow you to build your own applications and customise enterprise systems that work for your organisation. It integrates with a tone of other applications like Google Calendar and zoom.

Inconvénients

It was extremely obivious where the getting started tutorials were. It took quite a while to learn but is actually worth taking the time. I think if someone is looking for an out of the box solution this is not it. However it's worth it to educate yourself on how to use it as the automations and template will claw back that time for you when you get to grips with it.

How easy it is to customise Coda docs based on the needs of the People & Culture Team! Super love it!

Formats need to be easily customisable as well, if possible. Like we're currently using Coda to automate our People & Culture ops, and if it is possible to customise formats in the forms as well. Thank you Coda!

I like how versatile the software is. Besides this the huge gallery of templates full of good ideas always make me think about the way I'm doing my job. Primarily we use here in my company as a team wiki with steroids.

Inconvénients

The software is not so easy to digest in a world where everybody uses excel as the way to go.I had some bas times trying to explain to my team that coda database is not organised as a spreadsheet.

I like the clean look and the general ease of use with Coda. The ability to collaborate with others is great.

I would say that Coda is a collaboration tool built for programmers. Although it is easy to use once you know how to use it, it is the sort of software that lends itself more to people already in tech versus other fields.

Coda is a robust software that has helped our company centralize all our internal documents. The platform is quite user friendly, allowing us to really expand the product features to meet our needs as an organization. The support and help documents are quite impressive, we used it to train our entire staff on how to efficiently use the product.
They have been responsive to feature requests, and the product has definitely improved in our time using it.

I still find random bugs quite often that aren't debilitating in completing my work, usually just a nuisance that will slow productivity.

Many of the things that have been pain points in the past have since been resolved, with continous new features and a very communicative team. There are still some key missing features such as code syntax highlighting and true markdown support.

The pricing can also be either very good value, or rather expensive, depending on how you intend to use it.

I had always wanted an easy way to utilize the benefits of a database instead of using spreadsheets, so when I stumbled upon Coda, I was so excited. The ability to view, store, calculate and reference so much data made it much easier to find the information needed easily and display the information in the way I want it shown based on who I'm sharing that page with. The complex calculations possible and the ability to easily reference other tables have been a major time-saver.

Inconvénients

The mobile app needs a lot of work to catch up with the desktop version. The tables cannot be designed on a tablet, which I found very frustrating. Printing has required quite a bit of workarounds to print anything useable.

I love the features of Coda that make it a one-stop place for storing my documents and processes. Using it for a various tasks like creating data tables, knowledge sharing and time planning.

Inconvénients

Some disturbing UI bugs that do have their workaround but make Coda a little bit less pleasant.

Avantages

Very powerful tool, which allows multiple possibilities for the creation of a knowledge base and virtual office. The strongest point is the huge number of existing templates and mainly the huge number of types of blocks that can be inserted in each document that is made. The cost is also quite attractive, making the cost-benefit of the tool as a whole excellent.

Inconvénients

Although the interface is beautiful and elegant, due to a large volume of features, navigating the tool is a bit complicated, requires practice and even in the long run it seems a little unpleasant. In other words, it is not a tool as easy to use and pleasant to use.

Coda might be the single most powerful piece of software that I use. The use cases are endless. I use it for product planning, notes, research, release planning and much more.

Inconvénients

It can be overwhelming at first because of all the things you can use it for, but they have solid documentation.
