Have had this system for a bit over a year now. Would never go back to our old system
Cost of the product. Speed of the access for our techs out doing calls. The time card links work great. The tech support has been top notch. The ability to customize customers
Avantages
How it links up to our accounting software. The time card link has proved to pay for itself. We have noticed an increase in employee productivity. Support is very quick and actually being able to speak to a real person right away.
Inconvénients
Every few months I have to go in and clean up the materials list. As it is a learning system if a user spells something different then another it logs this in.
On the quoting side. I would like to see a template to speed up the time for standard estimates.

Game-Changer for Streamlining Operations
ServiceBox has been an absolute lifesaver for our business! We transitioned from cumbersome Excel sheets and broken formulas, and the difference has been night and day. It has significantly streamlined our processes, cutting our estimating and job costing time by at least 50%.
While we haven’t fully deployed it with our field techs yet, we have a good feeling about how it will enhance efficiency and communication even further. So far, ServiceBox has exceeded our expectations and transformed how we manage our operations.
Avantages
ServiceBox has been a fantastic tool for our business! What we like most is how easy and intuitive it is to use, even for team members who aren’t tech-savvy. It’s highly customizable, allowing us to tailor it to our specific needs, and their communication about updates is excellent—we always feel informed about improvements.
On top of that, it’s affordable, which is a big plus for businesses looking for great value. Another bonus is its ability to link with accounting software (though we haven’t taken advantage of this feature yet, but it’s definitely a great option to have).
Overall, ServiceBox has been a reliable, user-friendly solution that keeps our operations running smoothly! Highly recommend.
Inconvénients
One area that could use improvement is the speed at which updates and new features are rolled out. The development process can sometimes feel lengthy, but I understand that this thorough approach ensures stability and reliability in the software.

Love the Customer Service
Very friendly customer service, very user friendly. I would recommend it to any company (big or small) looking for a new system!
Avantages
We love the fact you can customize what you need. All the variations of the forms. They call quarterly just to check to see if there are any issues. They have great customer service, everyone there is overly friendly!
Inconvénients
The only thing we would like to see is in the scheduler is a way to easily see different technicians schedules. Right now you just put appointments in on the schedule its all mashed together on the day, luckily we also have a paper schedule where we right down which tech and truck is on which run. Our old system did this however it was very old and we needed to update, we have used ServiceBox for a few years now and have gotten used to not being able to schedule on specific runs. Nobody likes change but we are ok with it. But dont let this sway you against ServiceBox, we knew this going into it and it didnt stop us. Their customer service outweighed this small minor inconvenience.

Hi Caitlyn. Thanks for this generous review, and the suggestions. Are you aware that the Scheduler actually has a switch that allows you to see the info you're hoping to see? The view you're talking about where everyone's schedule is included in a single column is called the "Normal" view. But if you click the "Toggle Mode" button in the top right corner, it will switch to the "Dispatcher" view, where each technician has their own column and their daily activities are laid out clearly, by the hour. Check it out!

Short Survey
Training was great! For the most part SB is good. We have customized it to work for us.
Avantages
The ease of billing from the quote to invoice.
Inconvénients
Technical support. Everything is online thus causing much downtime when an issue arises. Scheduling takes way more time than it should. There is no audit trail captured.

In terms of technical support, it’s true we have a full menu of online videos and articles people can consult, but we also have a Help button on the UI that puts you in contact with a living, breathing human being. Have you tried using that button to create a support ticket? Generally a person will respond to you within 24 hours.
In regards to scheduling, the desktop version of ServiceBox contains a suite of scheduling views and options, including a drag and drop feature that allows you to schedule and dispatch dozens of employees per minute.
Conversely, the mobile app was developed for the technicians receiving those dispatch notices, and doesn’t contain that same suite of services. So if you’re scheduling from the mobile app, you may want to switch to an iPad and use the more agile desktop version.

Overall a pretty good program
Service Box has been a game-changer for our business, Trade Tech Mechanical Services. It's an okay software but I will probably been switching soon to another platform.
Avantages
ServiceBox provides a great way to access my client information, in the office or out in the field. Not the best but much better than how we used to do it (pen and paper).
Inconvénients
ServiceBox does not visually look well when used on my cell phone. I always have to scroll the screen down to select an item in the drop box when scheduling a service. It's also not industry specific and more of a general SAS.

Great Application
It has been a very good application for our business. We are a small business and only have a couple of technicians in the field. The cost for our needs is one of the best in the market. Customer support is also very good.
Avantages
Its versatility and comprehensive capabilities. Easy to use interface. Accessible from any location.

Very little wrong with the application. Sometimes the mobile interface can be touchy or clumsy by touching the wrong link or button.

Well simplified Program
I would have to say I am quite content with it and have looked into more advanced programs but these seem to need a much larger office staff and people willing to learn more to help operations.
Avantages
The pc operation of the program is easy and well laid out. I really like the layout of the schedule board compared to other scheduling programs.
Inconvénients
I don't like the fact that you cannot run a short version of inventory usage for the week or specific time period to create more accurate stock orders.

If I'm understanding your concern correctly, you absolutely CAN run reports of your inventory usage weekly, or over any other duration you want. Just click on "Reporting" in your left-hand menu, and click on "Inventory Usage By Location Report". You can create a custom report of your inventory usage and set the dates for any period you like.

Great product
Service box has been great for the most part. Everything is at the touch of a button. I can keep track of all my workers by just going into the app and if needed change or transfer jobs to different technicians.
Avantages
I love the fact that it’s paperless as an owner I can schedule my guys with out having them back at the shop. Having them check in and check out and adding pics and notes to the service box is a huge plus as well just to protect my guys and my business if there is a conflict with billing or the job.
Inconvénients
Getting kicked out after being logged in for some time and forgetting my pass word lol I don’t like when I make a quote for a customer and when sent it breaks down all materials and such.

It seems to be very reliable. Customers can read there invoice well. You are able to put lots of information in various areas that you may need for future.
Avantages
It's easy to use and clear. You are able to put in a lot of information both on the back end and for the customer.
Inconvénients
Pricing. It would be nice to have an up to date pricing. It remembers some prices, but it seems it remembers the wrong ones.

I spoke to our customer success team about the pricing issue, and they said it would be good to go over your settings with one of our experts. Changing the prices of items, either in inventory, or as a materials add-on to the invoice, should be a fairly simple procedure for anyone with the correct permissions, and those changes will definitely stick.

A few suggestions
Quite well, other than my few dislikes i like how the app works.
Avantages
It seems to encompass the majority of what an individual employee need.
Inconvénients
The app seems quite useless, you can't do anything with it without opening the webpage. I'd also say it would be nice to be able to collapse the work orders when you hit the tabs on the top left. Aswell as not being able to input when offline to be automatically updated in when returning online.

Hi Connor, thanks for this helpful review. You're correct that the mobile app is a purely online app, but I'm happy to tell you that developing an offline version is on our list of development "to dos".
An ability to collapse work orders seems like common sense so thank you for that...would you be willing to make that suggestion on our Feature Update page? I'll also mention it to our development team, but when a customer formally suggests the feature on the request page, and gets a few upvotes, it can speed up the process.

Great software addition to our workflow. Even better customer service
We have streamlined out workflow significantly in introducing ServiceBox. We were able to eliminate a full-time job that we would have needed to find a replacement as well as limit the work done on a daily basis by the dispatcher and the individual technicians.
Avantages
Adding this software into our workflow was game changer. The most important reason we went to ServiceBox was because they seamlessly integrated with SAGE50 Canada. Another important quality of the software - the Customer support is AMAZING. Any time I've had an issue or wishing to see improvement, they've listened and made changes when appropriate and in a timely manner.
Inconvénients
Their app needs a bit of improvement in the speed and ease of getting to the "meat" of the app. It's still easy to use but there's a bit of lag when opening the app and getting into the website.

Dealing with people at ServiceBox has been very good.
Avantages
That it developed in Saskatchewan, Canada. Integrates with Canadian taxes, and when there is a question the support team understands the Canadian aspect, which almost non-existent for American developed products.
We can track all the equipment on various sites and attach notes, pictures, and details as it pertains to each individual piece of equipment.
Inconvénients
The check sheets that we developed are not as user friendly as we would like. This might be our own issue that we are not using the software as well as we could but though.
Would like the maintenance scheduling for equipment to be a little more robust, would like to have manufactures check sheets built into the maintenance scheduling so that at certain times of the year different checks are done on that same piece of equipment. Would like to be able to have more than one pic for the identification of a piece of equipment but this might be a little over kill.
In the "to-dos" I would like a date and stamp on each entry that is made. When i send a to-do and they reply it still only gives the original date that the to-do was created. I would like all replies tracked from the person that replied. On that same to-do i would like to be able to send the same to-do to more than one person, this does not happen very often but it would be handy to have this as an option.
Would like to use it to it's full capabilities but that is not necessarily a con on ServiceBox but on me not using it to it's full capabilities.

Service box and the team have definitely helped us organize our daily schedule and tasks and work orders .

The system is easy to use and super practical. Its a super great asset to have in your tool box !
the attachment feature is amazing and allows you to upload and store lots of information in the work orders .Robust system and we have lots of confidence in it .
Inconvénients
The recurring work order feature doesn't necessarily work properly .
If you are using an Iphone -you cant use the zoom feature for the scheduler .
Works great with sage but costly -you are forced to upgrade the sage program yearly and drives the cost to operate the system up considerably
The inventory feature also needs to be better .
The system should allow you to create file folders for job sites .

Great ideas! Has some workflow conflicts
Far less paper waste, no chance of important paperwork getting lost, ticket history to see who made changes or last worked on a job. The connection has occasionally been spotty but usually it's fine. It does a great job of coordinating all of the info (which is why the address thing always throws me off lol).
Avantages
Automatic iteration, filing, scheduling and organization of work order #s (and the consequent reductions in admin work and paper waste) are awesome.
Inconvénients
There is one issue that requires users to frequently duplicate work and resubmit data that is already in the system:
When I am submitting a quote for tender, there are usually 3-5 contractors(customers) that require pricing but the job site is not going to change! After creating the quote for Customer 1, copying the quote should carry over the job site as well. In general, job sites do not need to be linked to a customer (because civic addresses exist geographically regardless of what business occupies it or what contractor is working on the job.)

Excellect Product to Use!
Overall, we love ServiceBox and all of our tech's find it easy to use. All the information is avilable to them once a call is dispatched. The informaiotn is available for any office stuff to look up for customer inquires, etc. Highly recommend product!

Connecting with QuickBooks Online was a changelle and having issues sync-ing payments with QuickBooks

Needs to be quicker
It is not what we thought it was going to be and does not function how we'd hoped.
Avantages
I like the customization of categories and statuses. Also timesheets.
Inconvénients
I hear constant complaints on how slow it is and the unresponsiveness. In the end it makes more work for me. The search feature is not reliable due to how it sorts through keywords. The scheduler is not user/phone friendly. Too small and clustered.

I have found Service Box to be quite proficient in my everyday work needs.
Avantages
Customer history is a big bonus. I can see what has been done so I don't have to go into a job blind
Inconvénients
Navigation needs work. A smoother transition between fields would be nice. Not having to go to scheduler from the main Menu but from the page you are on would be more convenient.

ServiceBox is a Great Tool and Syncs with Quickbooks well
I have been using ServiceBox for about a year now. It was hard to believe that a software would make my job that much easier but once I finally trusted the system I was very happy that we made the decision to go ahead.
I was nervous the first time I had to do a sync with Quickbooks but it has made our business run so much smoother.
Avantages
After trying a few different processes, we finally tried ServiceBox and moved to a paperless system. We are able to e-mail all invoices to our clients and between this and the techs having access to everything in the field, we have saved large amounts of time.
Now there is no dual entry for invoices.
It is a brilliant thing to have techs using the system too, communication between everyone is greatly improved
Inconvénients
It would be nice to have a couple of the reports available in Excel not just PDF

Great Program
Avantages
Customer support is A++, easy to log hours with check in and check out feature, uploading photos to work orders is easy.
Inconvénients
Sometimes need to restart app to upload photos. Laggy and crashes from time to time.

Easy to manage time and material.
More time spent working and less time on paper work
Avantages
Having the time sheet updated based on work orders. Our previous system would require us to enter job site details for all forms like time sheet, gas permit, check sheets. Now all forms are linked to the job site so we don't waste time entering the same info multiple times
Inconvénients
Entering material from inventory isn't very efficient for big jobs. Having a list of fittings for each category ( copper, ABS, black iron ). Then a plus or minus beside each. I don't like it when i finish entering one item hit finish then you go back to the top of the screen just to scroll all the way back to the bottom of the list and the process keeps repeating

fairly simple (which for me is good), good search qualities, good customer support, I don't know cost to rate value

bogs down, some of the dispatch features could be streamlined if the customer using it has a more rapid need, while search functions are good, they could be expanded for other fields
