Look no further when looking for new candidates

Avantages

I like zip recruiter now more than I did 5 years ago or so. It has really improved and I am able to find candidates that fit perfectly for my company.

Inconvénients

I do hope in the future there is a way to avoid candidates who do not fit the profile to not apply.

ZipRecruiter for finding talent versus finding work

Good as an employer, but not as a candidate. If looking for talent I recommend using them.

Avantages

It`s a very good tool for uncovering candidates. Like all others, you take the good with the bad, but when I have used the tool in the past, I have been successful in making hires, some of whom were top-performers.

Inconvénients

For the job seeker, the tool is not intuitive. When I have used it in my personal job searches, I received a lot of irrelevant leads, many of which were too junior or not at all related to my background. I even had a couple of sketchy opportunities come my way, but did not see an easy way to communicate with ZipRecruiter.

Saves Me Time but Room to Improve

I did a study after acquiring some frustration with zip. I wasn't finding a customized job easily, so I decided to set up a custom search and analyze my top 20 results. Here are my findings:

- Fun Facts - 2/20 jobs were repeats. They were both in the list of 20 twice, either by mis-listing, multiple listings or multiple agencies posting through zip. 4/20 were already closed, no longer available, etc. 1/20 was an ad to a different job board.

- RELEVANCE - 32.5% of my jobs were relevant. 5/20 were solid yes (I would qualify, education/experience is good, and it's in the field I want), and 3/20 were maybes meaning they require the same degree or are similar in nature. The rest weren't close. Some extremes included a SLED Marketing Manager, a Coatings Manufacturing Engineer, a Territory Sales Manager and a Night Shift Manager for a fast food company.
- DISTANCE/TRAVEL TIME - The average distance was 20.6 miles from my town for the 20 jobs and the average travel time was 29.5 minutes. 4 /20 were in the same county while the other 16 were not. I did scroll through hundreds more to verify there were closer jobs of relevance.
- TIER - I rated jobs by tier meaning their level. If I were looking for a department manager for example, that would be a 0 because it's on target. A supervisor would be a -1 because its a level below, and a plant manager would be a +1 because it's above my level search. 3/20 were extreme outliers at 2 or more tiers away from my target level.

Avantages

It does compile hundreds of jobs for people to look through. Some of the filters are very useful such as distance. See my study in the overall experience below.

Inconvénients

Filters need more customization - sometimes pay range filters make you jump huge gaps such as filtering for jobs that make 52K a year to 73K with no in between. Most of the jobs are not relevant. I did reach out to zip for help at one point, but I haven't heard back yet. See my study in the overall experience below.

Best application

We are using ZipRecruiter for infra roles and its most helpful for sourcing the infra candidates

Avantages

User friendly and easy to connect with candidates also most effective

Zip to employment

Great experience user-friendly never really encountered or had any problems

Avantages

The ease of use, VIew user friendly, saving resume and let's employers see information about you so they have a pre- intefore your interview. Saves time and gas from traditional employment services

Inconvénients

Nothing was bad. Location for mapping radius could have been better it would give me jobs that were 30 miles away and thinking that it was in my location.

Great Tool For New Recruiters

Very reliable and trustworthy for recruiters and companies.

Avantages

I really love the layout/design; everything has a smooth transition when it comes to posting jobs, sourcing and filtering key words when searching for a specific candidate or job. Whoever designed the layout has exceptional organization skills; very creative. The portal is super easy to use and basically does all the work for you. It does a wonderful job with matching candidates to my job posts; I was really relieved to find out I could trust ZipRecuiter with providing candidates and didn't have to search and pick through each one that came my way.

Inconvénients

I really don't like the fact that I couldn't delete my account in the past. This is something that really concerns me; what are they doing with the information? Why would you leave it in the database and give hackers a chance to steal all that info?

Excellent and Effective Recruitment Software Tool

As a Senior Recruiter with an RPO, I have been using ZipRecruiter for many years now and feel it is a very reliable and effective tool in the recruitment process. I have filled a number of very specialized jobs for my client companies using ZipRecruiter

Avantages

It is an extremely, organized and user-friendly tool to post jobs and source candidates.

Inconvénients

I like all the functionality of the software so there is nothing I like least about it.

Quality Site For Quality Careers

You can actually find high quality applicants with this site. I am on it every day matching my skills against other job seekers. It helps me by identifying the skills needed to do a certain job. Do I have the preferred skill set the company is looking for? If not, do I want to learn those skills, so I'm ready for the next opportunity? The program also encourages you as a highly qualified applicant, to put in for the job. I use it to match my skills and abilities, against open opportunities. It works seamlessly.

Avantages

Zip Recruiter is almost like a plug in play site. That's because it is such an easy program to use, and there are step by step instructions to guide you. What I like the most is the quality of the site. Post a resume, it uploads and populates. Then you follow the prompts and fill your information in, and before you know it, recommendations are coming in.

Inconvénients

There really isn't anything I found unfavorable about Zip Recruiter. It's simple and time efficient.

Team struggles to understand how to make ads stand out

We're getting applicants, but not always high quality ones. I turn to LinkedIn ads for high quality applicants.

Avantages

ZipRecruiter is very easy to teach to someone when they are learning how to post job ads. I like that they have the feature to rate and set up interviews right from the software, but we don't use it since we have something else that we already use. It's user-friendly and I think that is really important.

Inconvénients

My team doesn't always understand why some of our ads do very poorly even though they look exactly like the ads that did well a week or two prior. They have also made some changes in requirement for the ads, and not everyone knew the new regulations. I think communication from Zip could be better. The in-congruencies really frustrate my team when they don't have the time to be frustrated. We will pay for an ad, and the ad won't do well, or Zip will suggest the same applicants to apply every time. We need new applicants, not the same ones that we've already interviewed.

Effective Means to Get Quality Applicants

Quick and efficient method of finding potential new hires.

Avantages

It delivers on the promise of quality candidates. Overall quality of candidates better than other sites we tried. Easy to use and set up. Free trial a plus.

Inconvénients

While better than other offerings it still let through a few applicants which were not ideally suited for the jobs we posted.

Recruit the right candidates in a zip

Avantages

They have the best overall job posting for hungry employees looking for full-time work and their features are very long to choose from to satisfy anyone's searching.

Inconvénients

They can do a way better job with following up on email management and making your profile look more exclusive to those hiring. But like I always say, please do some extensive homework finding what you like & dislike first.

Great job search application

Avantages

As a frequent flyer to job search, I like the recommended jobs and notifications they provide. Their 1 tap apply feature makes it easier to just zip through.

Inconvénients

My only complaint is for example national companies that have more than one location don't provide which one is hiring, I think that should be required so as to not leave people in the dark or cause confusion.

Ziprecruiter Reciew

Overall, my experience with Ziprecruiter has been great. A lot of employers use them which is great and again, the 1-click apply is definitely my favorite feature. I would.highly recommend them for anyone seeking employment.

Avantages

My favorite feature is the 1-click apply option. It takes all of the hassle out of having to go to the website, upload your resume and complete your profile over. I especially appreciate the updates from employers via email and the ease of using the app.

Inconvénients

Comparing Ziprecruiter to another hiring site, such as Indeed, Ziprecruiter has some short-comings. They don't prompt to complete assesments that fit your specific job type and tend to send me request to apply for jobs that aren't part of the criteria I requested when establishing my profile unlike Indeed who only sends me notifications for the specific job I'm looking for.

Not what it use to be.

8-10 years ago, Zip was one of my go-to resources to find candidates & post jobs. It is rare when I find a good candidate on zip these days.

Avantages

I like the ease of posting jobs & setting up screening questions.

Inconvénients

I don't like the resume search function & it seems that there are not a lot of newer candidates that appear when searching for a specific job. It seems that the database is filled with candidates that registered 6 months to a year back or further.

Great for finding jobs!

Avantages

I love how easy it is to navigate the site. I can narrow down my job search to very distinct categories and it makes it very easy to find the perfect job by doing this. I can easily navigate by region, location, or type of job, and I can fully customize and save my search for whatever type of job I am looking for at the time.

Inconvénients

Sometimes the jobs that are listed on Zip Recruiter for photography aren't always legitimate jobs, and I wish that there was a way to vette the employers who are able to post on Zip Recruiter. Also, there can be spam from different companies that gets blasted across the forums so it can be difficult to navigate through a bunch of random jobs that have nothing to do with what your search was.

ZipRecruiter - easy way to find the right people

the overall experience with ZipRecruiter has been very positive. We hire for a variety of positions with a variety of required experience needed. Each manager can customize their posting to fit their needs. We also find just who we are looking for with ZipRecruiter.

Avantages

Our industry has significant turn over about every year or two. We always need to have a talent pool of candidates to pull from. ZipRecruiter is easy to use, uploading job descriptions is a breeze, the notification emails are timely, and the online review process of each applicant is a smooth process. We have several managers who use ZipRecruiter and keeping track of where the applicant is in the recruitment process is so easy to use. We can quickly review the resumes and make a decision whether or not to move forward with that candidate and mark the record as such. The email feature is great for setting up interviews or just letting the candidates know where they are in the process. Being able to email multiple candidates at once is a time saver for every manager.

Inconvénients

I wish there was a way to identify candidates that had previously applied with our company that we had decided to NOT move forward with so when they continue to reapply, we could see a little flag or something. We spend time reviewing people that we had already seen and said "no" to. It would save us time in the long run

This is an awesome idea if looking for candidates

My overall experience has been positive. It has made looking for Candidates easier for me, and giving me options that I can therefore give to my employer when she needs a new accountant or someone to manage social media.

Avantages

This software is very easy to use and helps you with every step when it comes to hiring you employees especially in a small business. It notifies you of potential candidates, and is great for a customer service rep all the way up to an owner

Inconvénients

I feel like there could be better ways to sift through candidates and filter out specific ones. Maybe the software could have some sort of résumé check that it does on its own before sending it to the company. A lot of resumes that I went through personally were completely not qualified.

Another Resume Bin

I've had this profile for 5 years and not once have I been contacted with an opportunity. Maybe it's my field, but other job sites have come through for me.

Avantages

The interface is nice; clean and intuitive layout. Ease of use in populating fields. Executive Summary, Objective… etc. are nice features to have.

Inconvénients

I can’t post my personal website in the “Websites” sidebar. And there’s apparently no import option for a LinkedIn profile, which historically doesn’t work very well anyway, but there’s always hope that one day someone will crack that nut and seamlessly integrate preexisting content instead of having to manually input all of my history again and again and… however I can post my LinkedIn URL in the “Websites” sidebar. Also, I can’t delete my phone number; I’d prefer to not have that made publicly or privately available.

Zip Recruiter for Employer's

It seems like this software could use a major re-tooling. They ease of use is great but they sacrifice robustness and modernization (website and app)

Avantages

Website is easy to use. The website, ziprecruiter.com, features a recruiter dashboard where employers can login and input their information to make finding qualified candidates easier.

Inconvénients

Both the website and app suffer for a lack of stability. The website often has issues saving data such as resume

My overall experience with ZipRecruiter is great. They're an excellent source for employees looking for work or consultants needing new leads. Companies are listed with enough information, and the app and web allow for quick submission. Thank you!

Love ZipRecruiter

We have been using the solution for over five years now and they continue to make improvements and add new features

Avantages

The admin / job creator section is extremely easy to use and it saves all of our current and previous job opportunities.

Inconvénients

I don’t really have any cons. The company provides all the tools that we need to efficiently post positions and hire new talent so I would have to say there are really no cons regarding the solution

Pinpointing Specific Jobs

I am able to go straight to the specific jobs that I am looking for. I am given a reasonable amount of listings for each job. As well as, a detailed description of the job and its requirements.

Avantages

I particularly like this software because it is not just mobile, but it keeps you up to date with the specific jobs that interest you. It sends emails and text messages to you, informing you of jobs that may be best fit for what you are looking for. As well as, what jobs may best fit you given the past jobs listed on your resume.

Inconvénients

There has not been anything that I have found to be disliked about this particular software.

Feature-packed Job Search Engine

It comes in second to my preference of job boards but still something I would use if I had the money and need for it. I had a positive experience, but unfortunately my job required needing as many applicants as possible and I didn't get enough from Zip because it works better jobs that aren't low-wage.

There are so many features that help organize all the applicants you receive. You can even download applicant lists to an Excel spreadsheet that contains all their personal information. There are options to mark what stage the applicant is at (phone screened, interviewed, rejected, etc.), thumbs up or down, and a notes section as well. Jobs you post are also sent to other job boards, so you're not just limited to Zip.

Inconvénients

I happen to always get more candidates from Indeed. Ziprecruiter needs to simplify their website on the applicants end because it keeps them from being able to apply online.

Problematic and makes the Actual Process of Recruiting More Difficult

At first, I was excited to use what I thought would be a savvy recruiting software to attracted quality applicants. The software caused the process to take longer by making the recruiting/hiring process too informal. The initial posting of jobs is fine and I do like how that process worked but I don't recommend following-up with any of the applicants through the application. With my experience and if I were to use it again, after reviewing a resume, take it over from there and send emails through your own email server and make phone calls to the applicants to screen them before setting an actual interview.

Avantages

The software seemed fine. It was easy to use from the employer side. it was fairly easy to post a job and monitor its views and applicants. The over all use of the application was great; it is the psychology behind the use of the application/software that is problematic.

Inconvénients

The format of ZipRecruiter for the applicants makes it too informal and many of the applicants do not take it as serious as they should because of how ZipRecruiter conveys information. Example: I as the employer post the job. Job then is blasted via text message and email to applicants. Applicant then pushes a couple buttons to apply. Employer then selects an applicant for an interview and sends a message through ZipRecruiter to applicant. Applicant receives a text message or message via the App that the applicant can respond to. On the employer side, it looks like an email message and is treated as such from the Desktop view but applicant sees a text message type view and responds informally. Employer then sees the response as informal and counts the response against applicant. Then you have the applicants that don't take the employers who only communicate via the ZipRecruiter software as serious as the ones who do a direct contact. Again, the informal view on the applicant's side causes a real problem psychologically in the job search process. I discussed this issue with an applicant that I interviewed as well as with several others who were applicants on ZipRecruiter who work for another company in the same office as mine. I was curious why I was receiving such poor responses from seemingly qualified applicants (as well as no shows for interviews) and the informal approach seems to be a major factor. ZR customer service only blamed current market conditions.

Zip Recruiter streamlines HR events

ZipRecruiter does the work of a team of HR Specialists. It organizes, filters and captures information so that the HR Dept can best place its candidates for open positions. Its ability to organize and share job descriptions makes it definitely worthwhile.

Avantages

I worked on the team to have ZipRecruiter available for the HR Team, they loved it! ZipRecruiter, especially in the time of covid has made seeking new applicants, filtering candidates and empowering people to find the job they are best suited for so much easier.

Inconvénients

This was a quick implementation and being predominantly web based with cloud functionality it offered a more stable environment though you need a fast network connection.

Can be expensive but get's the job done.

Avantages

Adding in pre screening questions to your job posting that the prospects are required to answer, this helped us weed out the applicants that weren't qualified because of licensing regulations. Being able to add other team members into the account so you can have more then one login, this allows multiple managers to be able to review the incoming resumes for a job posting. Being able to rank the incoming resumes with a thumbs up, a neutral. Being able to add notes to an incoming applicants profile. If you have multiple job postings you can sort the incoming resumes by the specific job posting.

Inconvénients

If you rank a resume with a thumbs down, it removes the resume from the list. This is a problem if you have more then one manager that needs to review the incoming resumes. One manager can down vote a resume, but maybe another manager see's something they like. So the thumbs down doesn't work for us. We would only use the neutral or thumbs up. On our most recent job posting we weren't getting the applicants we wanted with just a standard listing, when we paid the higher price for more exposure we started getting quality candidates. Not sure what the difference is between where the postings are published with a standard listing or an upgraded listing. When you are looking at the list of resumes, if you have multiple job postings you can sort the list by the job posting, however, when you click on a resume it forwards your browser to a new page, then when you click the back button it takes you back to all the resumes so you have to keep resorting them by the job posting.

Avantages

It is one of the largest job and candidate banks in the nation, if you're a business and need qualified candidates as employees job or simply looking for contractors to complete tasks for you ZipRecruiter has one of the biggest options out there. If you're a job seeker recruiters also use this site to find you and offer you jobs.

Inconvénients

Personal information can be available for anyone to read, be sure to check restrictions on who can read your information, with identity theft in it's all time high please can easily access then use information from your resume or company information.

Continued monthly charges with no benefit

We posted 1 job in March 2018 and received no qualified candidates. However, we found out today that we’ve been getting charged $9.99 per month ever since (28 months). When I inquired via chat today what that charge was for I was told it was to have access to those unqualified candidates from 28 months ago. I NEVER received any email, phone call, or any other contact of any type offering any assistance. I know it’s only $9.99 but it’s also been 28 months of $9.99 and we’ve seen absolutely no benefit from those charges.

We did not find any of the features helpful.

Feedback for ZipRecruiter

My experience with ZipRecruiter has been great. No major challenges are there. It's a good tool for recruitment.

Avantages

1.ZipRecruiter is user-friendly.2.It has Label options wherein you can put candidates under different labels. So whenever we are looking for candidates for a specific position we can easily go to our labels and find the candidate.3. Invite to apply is actually great. AI helps us to find candidates and send them the buzzer to apply for the position.4. There is another feature available where in AI helps you to fetch the best fit candidates.

Inconvénients

There is no major glitch that I felt in the software. Everything is going good.

AWESOME EXPERIENCE

Great experience. It was easy to use, easy to apply, great job opportunities available, and they tailor my search to my needs

Avantages

I really appreciated how ZipRecruiter tailored my jobs to meet my search goals and regularly checked in to see if they were sending the right jobs and if I had found a job yet. My feedback went answered because when I told them I wasn't interested in a certain type of job, they stopped sending me those types of jobs and focused on what I was looking for. Great program to use. I also like how if the salary isn't listed, we can request it. Another feature I like is how they pay attention to what we applied for and give updates on the status of our applications with additional recommendations. I highly recommend to everyone.

Inconvénients

At first, I was getting jobs that I wasn't interested in, but when they asked if it was the type of job I was looking for and I replied no, it was instantly changed to be more reflective of my job search needs. Thank you!

If you need to hire this is the best solution

Overall there is not much of a question when it comes to posting for a job. People are actively looking daily on Zipe recruiter. People have alerts and notifications set up. If you want your posting to be seen this is forsure the best platform to use.

Avantages

The shear market share that Zip recruiter owns makes them the clear choice. Because of the traffic they generate, when you post a job with their services you're bound to get applicants. Usually within the hour. We have been really successful with the searches that Zip Recruiter has helped us with.

Inconvénients

With the good traffic there is also bad traffic. Due to the high number of viewers and applicants there is a little bit of riff that gets in. You can expect to have to sort through some under qualified candidates for all of the jobs you post. Especially if they are in a popular field like marketing or social media in a market where talent is high and jobs are scarce.

Zip recruiter Review

We explored the tool for commercial recruitment and it did provided with decent results with cost efficiency. It has a decent search engine.

Job Search

ZipRecruiter gives you the option of either posting a job or finding a job. Being in the market of job searching is hard for most but Ziprecruiter lightens the load for most.

ZipRecruiter is a value for money tool when it comes to Job Posting. It just gets the job done.

Easy to use

ZipRecruiter has gotten me a job in the past and seems very promising this time around as well.

It Narrows down to your city and also for the jobs that were posted most recently all the way up to 30 days

Inconvénients

When they have suggestions on jobs that are fitting for you sometimes they have nothing to do with your training skills that's posted on your resume.

ZipRecruiter Review

My overall experience with ZipRecruiter is nothing but positive although there is one downside to the software. Despite that one downside, ZipRecruiter has and will continue to be a great website to look for jobs both online and offline.

Avantages

What i liked most about ZipRecruiter is how fast they connect employer and potential employees allowing me the opportunity to find jobs that i liked the most or was relative to me. Employer responses are quick with employers usually responding within a few hours of applying for any position. I love the filters allowing me to target specific jobs or companies that im looking for.

Inconvénients

What I dislike most about the software is when searching for no experience jobs or jobs that are closest to my location, I would be given jobs that are far from my current location or require experience to do making finding some no experience jobs frustrating. Filtering out the jobs that require experience when searching for jobs with no experience would greatly help in narrowing down the right job for me based on my keywords.

Job Posting and Resume database is great

It was a good experience with ZipRecruiter especially the job posting found a lot of great resumes from Ziprecruiter

Avantages

It is easy to navigate. You can use basic boolean strings or Titles to look for qualified candidates. The job posting is amazing you will get a lot of responses.

Inconvénients

Some of the applicant's expired profiles are still there and you can get their information.

The new way to find a job!

Overall I've had a great experience with ZipRecruiter and have had some luck in the past interviewing with different companies.

Avantages

Very user friendly, easy to navigate & communicate/share posts. Love how I can see how many other people have applied and when my application has been viewed. Also cool when you see people who gave you a thumbs up!

Inconvénients

Some times it's frustrating when I don't hear back from a company who I applied to... especially when they've given me a thumbs up or have viewed my application. I think it should be mandatory that companies reach back out to people who they've viewed or given the person a thumbs up. It's a total let down when I feel like someone likes my resume but I never hear back. Wether they're interested or not, a response would be nice

Feeling paticularlly ZIPPY today!

This is so easy! It raises your spirits with all of the positive affirmation, job leads, advise, and encouragement. I feel good after being on ZipRecruiter. This is what I would call a company that makes a positive imprint on all the lives that it touches...daily. I even named my new puppy Zippy.

A good basis for recruiting employees for your business

I think this is a decent platform for people who need to find potential candidates on top of getting applicants for the position. In my case, I couldn't find good candidates, but on Handshake I was able to get great candidates. It's not entirely ZipRecruiter's fault, but this has happened a few times.

Avantages

I enjoy how simple it is to post a listing, and view all the applicants with ease! Additionally, you can view potential applicants that match the job listing/requirements, which is a great feature. I didn't purchase this platform for that, but it's good to have a feature that can recommend potential candidates for the job!

Additionally, I like how I can rate all the candidates and sort through them quickly.

Inconvénients

This is a relatively expensive platform, and I did not expect to pay this much just to post one job listing.

Also, the potential candidates feature was useful to an extent. Often, I would get bad matches and no good leads.

Great for mass resumé gathering

Avantages

ZipRecruiter makes it easy to post available positions everywhere. It saves time on the front end.

Inconvénients

Because of where your jobs are posted, you receive a LOT of terrible, non-qualified resumés and applications that you need to sift through to see which are actually worth an interview. Also, setting up an interview is terrible on this system because I can't seem to connect with the interviewee using just their software or it's spotty at best. You're better off to contact them directly.
