Reliable, easy and affordable, meeting nonprofit needs
As a leader of digital marketing for the World Ethics Organization, leading the task of finding and setting up a project management tool for our nonprofit, and being able to present it and transfer over to Freedcamp, the rest of the team is satisfied and happy with the overall functionality of the tool as it meets our needs, as well as very prompt customer service, which is crucial for us.
Avantages
Having been comparing many project management tools that are affordable for a nonprofit startup, Freedcamp is the only one we could start with due to it's affordability and functionality. It is relatively easy to use, especially for a nonprofit variety of people with different levels of technical skill sets. I have also been reaching out to customer support regarding some functions and use, and I was very satisfied with the outcome, because of prompt and clear replies, which for us is crucial.
Inconvénients
The only thing that we are missing in the PRO version is not having the Gantt chart, which is available in the next level pricing, which unfortunately for our nonprofit is not affordable at this stage.

Freedcamp Simplified Our Event Planning for Women Techmakers and GDG Montrea
As event organizers for Women Techmakers Montreal and GDG Montreal, managing the logistics of multiple tech events is a challenge. When our team started looking for a tool to streamline our planning, Freedcamp stood out from the rest.
We were in need of a solution that could help us coordinate tasks, track progress, and keep everyone on the same page. Freedcamp offered exactly that, with its simple yet effective task management and project organization features. The calendar function quickly became one of our favorite tools, giving us a clear visual timeline for every event we plan. We can easily assign tasks to team members, set deadlines, and monitor progress to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
Freedcamp’s collaborative environment has empowered our team to work more efficiently and with greater confidence. Planning technology events, from workshops to conferences, has never been more organized or stress-free. It allows us to focus on creating valuable experiences for our community, knowing the details are well managed.
We look forward to continuing to use Freedcamp as we grow our events and our team. If you're organizing complex projects like ours, we highly recommend giving it a try!
Avantages
One of the best things about Freedcamp is its intuitive task management system. It simplifies assigning tasks, setting deadlines, and tracking progress, all in one place. The calendar view is especially helpful for visualizing event timelines, ensuring that nothing is overlooked. Its collaborative features make it easy for teams to stay organized and work together efficiently, which is perfect for managing multiple projects like tech events.
Inconvénients
One thing I dislike about Freedcamp is the lack of a built-in feature to set time estimates on tasks. For project management, especially in tech or development-focused teams, being able to estimate the time required for tasks is essential for better planning and resource allocation. Without this feature, it becomes harder to track whether a project is on schedule or if tasks are taking longer than expected. While you can work around this by using labels or comments, a dedicated time estimate feature would make task tracking much more efficient.

TrelloPourquoi passer à Freedcamp
Choosing Freedcamp over Trello can be beneficial if you need a more comprehensive project management tool. Freedcamp offers integrated features like calendar and timeline views, task hierarchies, and time tracking, making it suitable for complex projects. It also provides better value with its free features compared to Trello, which often requires paid plans or integrations for similar capabilities. Freedcamp's collaborative tools are also more built-in, while Trello is better suited for simpler, visual task management.- Secteur d'activité : Internet

Freedcamp - best free and easy to use tool for project management
To summarize, Freedcamp is the optimal tool for the small distributed teams who don't want to complicate their processes. It helps a lot to organize your work and tasks among the people.
Avantages
1. Simple to use in comparison to other tools like Jira or Rally.
2. Free license to use for the small teams.
3. Ability to use plugins like TimeTracker.
Inconvénients
Couple of years ago I used mobile version of Freedcamp, it had bugs and reduced functionality. Don't know what's up now with the application. I expect it to be improved as well as I noticed it for the Desktop/Browser version.

Not the most flexible tool on the market
It helped us in our earlier stages of project management and team alignment
Avantages
We used Freedcamp for a few months and it really helped us align our team's projects and tasks. Intuitivne and easy to use, it did the job it was supposed to do.
Inconvénients
It's too basic. You cannot edit project phases - there are only 3 basic stages : to do, in progress, done. If your team is practicing scrum, you see the problem. I think it's a good tool to start with, but as your appetites and team's projects get more complex, it will become obsolete.
Réponse de Freedcamp
We think that each task can be only in progress, not in progress or completed but true - not in progress task can have a clarification sub-status like 'waiting for a feedback' or 'postponed' and we do consider adding sub-statuses in the future.
Things like Testing, Review - task lusts can be used to handle. task in Testing task list will still be in progress, not started or completed because if you set it as status you will never know if actual testing phase not started, in progress or completed.
To handle this in Kanban view we plan to allow to switch Kanban view to show columns as task lists in addition to by status available now.
Hope it helps what is planned and what to expect.
Cheers,
Igor

Freedcamp 4 the win!
Freedcamp has been a valuable tool for organizing and managing my projects. It’s easy to use, affordable, and robust enough to handle team collaboration. While there are some areas for improvement, especially with the mobile app and integrations, the platform’s benefits outweigh its drawbacks. It has significantly improved our productivity and coordination as a remote team.
Avantages
Freedcamp's interface is user-friendly and offers a wide range of features that cater to project management needs. I particularly liked the ability to create task lists, collaborate with team members, and track progress in real time. The calendar integration and notifications are excellent for staying on top of deadlines. Additionally, the platform provides a lot of functionality even with its free plan, making it accessible for startups and nonprofits like mine.
Inconvénients
The mobile app could use some improvements in terms of responsiveness and navigation. Occasionally, there’s a slight lag when switching between projects, and some features feel more polished on the desktop version compared to mobile. Integrations with other tools are somewhat limited unless you’re on a higher-tier plan.

Beating your Monday Blues with Freedcamp
Excellent. The team has always responded in the early days when we hit a snag, today I rarely need to talk to them if I do they respond almost instantly. I've had to use other programs over the years at various other companies I've worked at, I always return to Freedcamp, by far the best.
Avantages
It keeps us focused on the tasks across a range of projects we run simultaneously. We run Fortitude Boxing Gym, one of Australia's largest Boxing Gym that has projects across Queensland in Australia supporting remote gyms and First Nations Communities. We also run fundraising events for the Veterans Community. With more than 8 projects in a year and many fight nights, that's a lot of work to keep track of. Freedcamp keeps us focused, on time, and because of that on budget. One feature that stands out is the ability of different users to view a project in different views, I love a Gant chats, whereas my boss loves the Koban view, so we both use our own preferred view of the same project.
Inconvénients
Hard to think of much, it's hard to view a Gant chart on my mobile but that's really a limitation of my mobile size than Freedcamp.

Freedcamp Review – Company Use
Our overall experience with Freedcamp has been outstanding. It has become an essential part of our team’s workflow, helping us manage projects with ease and efficiency. The platform is intuitive, making it easy to onboard new team members quickly, and the customization options allow us to tailor it to our specific needs.
Avantages
What we love most about Freedcamp is its versatility and user-friendly interface. It offers a comprehensive set of tools for project management, all in one place, making it easy to collaborate with team members, manage tasks, and keep everything organized.
Inconvénients
While Freedcamp is overall an excellent tool, one area for improvement could be the mobile app. Although it offers a lot of functionality, it sometimes feels less intuitive and a bit clunky compared to the desktop version.

The best free project management system I have used
Avantages
Creating projects, tasks and time tracking is a breeze with Freedcamp. Organising projects is even better; searching, sorting and filtering features are well thought out. I particularly like the Kanban settings when viewing each project because it gives me a quick, overall view. The Tasks Board saves me time when planning and prioritising to work on several projects on any given day; if I need to see which projects are close to the deadline, then it is just a click away with Saved Searches. I can't imagine being as organised and productive without Freedcamp.
Inconvénients
I often have multiple task lists for a project. On the Tasks Board, this means the project name comes up several times, and I have to click on the project name to get to the task. But no matter which project name I click on, the tasks from the topmost task lists will always be displayed and I have to collapse the topmost task lists or scroll down to get to the tasks I want to work on.

"Freedcamp has been a game changer for us! The platform offers an impressive range of features that make managing projects, tasks, and collaboration a breeze. Freedcamp, great value for money
The myriad of things to think of in handling over 40 projects simultanously for sourcing and product development.Since I use project management software the productivity has gone up significanntly, not in the least because of the ease of use of Freedcamp
Avantages
I like the ease of use for generating projects and for monitoring projects. I tried different project apps, but Freedcamp stands out; it's fast, has sufficient options and is easy to adjust, both for the admin as for each individual user. The pricing is another factor; the paid options are definitely value for money.
Inconvénients
Missing options at this moment: - integrated email client- integrated email client- integrated email client- wechat integration- baidu cloud integrationLiterally the only thing really missingI dream of a world where Freedcamp has an integrated email client that allows the user to link emails and messages to a project, and that automatically saves attachments to the project folder. And since I work from China, where wechat is the defacto standard for all communication with providers and staff it would be great to be able to zap wechat directly to a project. Specific projects can have specific groups and have that information saved in freedcamp would be really awesome. Also all US based cloud systems are a hassle to use; they require VPN. Integration with Baidu cloud or Aliyun would be a definite advantage.
Pourquoi choisir Freedcamp
We used Freedcamp, and then we switched to Feng Office, which is significantly more expensive, because Feng Office has automated tasks and... a fully integrated email client. The automated tasks options turned out to be a bit less impressive than expected due to the steep learning curve, but the email client was the absolute winner.Yet, after one year we switched back to Freedcamp, because the difference in functionality and reduced ease of use did not justify the much higher price.Pourquoi passer à Freedcamp
Most of these apps focus on software development or are either too structured or not structured enough for the work that we do. Jira is an exception on this, but it has a steep learning curve and requires much more management, plus it is not really suitable for a small operation like ours. Let's not forget support. Freedcamp and Feng Office were the only two replying adequately to my questions, from most I only received boilerplate reply emails. Also over time, Freedcamp has integrated many of the options and tweaks I have suggested, and I talk directly with the head of the development team. He's professional and straight forward, and gets most of my problems, issues and requests solved - except so far for the integrated email client.- Secteur d'activité : Rédaction et correction

For small organizations, this is a great free option
Avantages
I'm a freelancer working with several different clients. I use Freedcamp with clients who aren't already using another project-management service, and the free version gives me everything I need. My clients don't take to it immediately; they prefer to rely on email for most communication and file-sharing, but for my own personal projects or for working with subcontractors, I like the file-sharing capabilities and the calendar integrations. Filling out an honest survey about why Freedcamp has been a useful solution is the very least that I can do to thank them for keeping a free option for the platform, so here I am!
Inconvénients
I wish that I didn't have to pay to get the ability to copy projects, but it was smart business for them to withhold that from the free service, because I've *almost* broken down and gotten it. But I'm a penny-pincher, so I'm holding out. I also still haven't quite figured out how to get global teams working quite right, but that's probably on me!
Pourquoi passer à Freedcamp
I often say that I have a PC brain and that I just don't think in Apple. The same is true about project-management services. I "got" Freedcamp in a way that I didn't "get" Trello and other services. It was free to try Freedcamp, and I've never needed anything else.- Secteur d'activité : Gestion d'organisme à but non lucratif

If you want a project management software that works for you...
One unexpected benefit of Freedcamp is the improvement to the staff’s morale when I don’t have to do nearly as much micro-managing and instead they can see in writing exactly what is expected, the due date, communicate progress, etc. without a manager constantly asking. It also makes editing or correcting errors or mistakes more like collaboration than like corrections.
Avantages
Freedcamp is so incredibly intuitive and user friendly, not to mention, each time I have ever had a hiccup or a desired result from the software that I couldn’t achieve on my own, I just emailed support and they were able to customize from the back end to make it do anything I needed.
I can’t say enough about the amount of time this tool saves me as chief of operations and I can’t imagine doing my job without it.
Inconvénients
The only feature I feel could be improved significantly is the “email in” feature. It’s quite cumbersome the first time you email into a project and if you are like me, you have so many projects going at one time that it is not convenient to have to log in, go to the project, select email in, copy the address and then alter it depending on if it’s a file, discussion, etc.

Inconvénients
It has been a beast to implement and drive users to the tool. The lag in updates hurts us as times when new things are added, we have to wait a solid 2-3 min before they show up for the team. This lag is just enough time for "i don't see it on my freedcamp" emails.
I also wish there was a better way to limit view to team members. This is what is on your plate today, period.

Project Management That's Not a Project to Manage
Avantages
Freedcamp has been indispensable to our company, both in our nascent and more developed business stages. It's interface is straightforward, and its robust feature set allowed us to utilize new tools as our business grew and demanded more. Key among those was a built-in time tracker that allowed us to better and more accurately quote projects. Its free features were sufficient for our needs in the beginning, but the price point for upgrading to Business/Enterprise level was also reasonable, especially compared to similar platforms. We were also able to start using it "out of the box" rather than some other platforms we tried out, where merely setting everything up was an investment of time and resources we, as a small business, just didn't have.
Inconvénients
The mobile app is not as robust as the browser-based application, but the company has been making improvements on that front.

Inconvénients
Allthough my experience is very good, I don't get that many colleages liking this software. the learning curve seems to be to high and usage of the tool usually drops dead in a few weeks, despite my effort of promoting and supporting it. for small project teams that only last a few weeks I don't even bring it up anymore.. although that would be the perfect situation to deply freedcamp.

Freedcamp Great System for Small Businesses
Overall, Freedcamp has made my small freelance business more organized, run smoother, and put all my needed times in one central digital location for easy access later.
Avantages
I love this product. I add all my clients in here, create teams when I want others to have access to it, add all my times in for each project, and a little description. I can easily see what I have going on at any time, and how much time I have in any particular project. Easy user interface.
Inconvénients
Features Wish List: I would like to make "Time" come up as a default. It could be that I just don't know how to change default settings. I use it every time, so it would save me time.
Also, I don't know how to delete people from teams and such. I would like to do that. Perhaps if there was a responsive chat for when we have questions?

Just right, not too much, not too little.
So far great.
Avantages
I chose this because other packages are WAY too bloated with features I didn't need but could not avoid and a some packages are simply too stripped down to be any more useful than pen and paper. Freedcamp has a ton of features but you can ignore the ones you're not interested in. User interface is the most approachable of any task software I've used.
Inconvénients
I wanted more ability to manually order tasks on a list. I need due dates but I also need to juggle stuff around by simply clicking and dragging. Freed camp is set up a bit too rigid. if I give something a due date, it wants to order by due date and then tasks without due dates get lost in the shuffle. While looking at the ordered list, I want to be able to click and drag something to the top to give it priority. But you can't without changing the order setting in the menu, which then changes EVERYTHING in the list, not just the one you care about. #2 - I'd love to be able to do some fast edits of a task (like text) right in the list view without having to fully open the task. #3 - The right column with easy drag and drop due dates, priorities, and progress is a GREAT feature. Would be even better if it included user generated "tags". You have a tags feature but not in that column. #4 - in the "projects" view pane, each individual project takes up too much space forcing me to scroll through them. Would love an option to simplify the view so it's a quick text list that is more likely to fit on one page. #5 - Calendar view is great. Would be helpful if on the "month" and "week" view I could see the entire task name by hovering the mouse over the task. Month view truncates the text string so small it's hard to know what it is from just a few words.

The Right Balance Between Performance & Investment
I've been using lots of Project Management and Team Collaboration Apps such as Trello, Slack, Asana, Bitrix24 and more.
But when I started to use Freedcamp about a year ago, I learn that this app manages to provide the sweet balance between my learning curve in using the app effectively to go up and running, and all the necessary functionalities without putting my self too much in configuring all the features with it's bells and whistles.
Other than that, their support alone is a solid and consistent 5 star performance, very prompt and spot-on showing a high level customer and solution oriented team.
I had a few issues during the set-up but once support came in handy, the rest of the on-boarding process was really smooth.
In a way, it is a mature App, but later-on, I found out that their roadmap is growing continuously to the right direction, based on my team way of working, and also the current business needs dynamic.
More integrations are coming up as well, but for now, I'm satisfy with how the app being developed for the last 6 months or so.
Avantages
This app manage to provide the sweet balance between my learning curve in using the app effectively until go up and running, and all the necessary functionalities, without putting my self too much in configuring all the features with it's bells and whistles.
The support alone is a solid and consistent 5 star performance, very prompt and spot-on showing a high level customer and solution oriented team.
Roadmap and development are heading towards my business needs which means this app is definitely a good long term investment for my team since Freedcamp has been around for quite some time now.
Inconvénients
The on-boarding is good but the learning curve a little bit steep the first time I test it. But recently they improved the UI and it surely enhances other users in my team to have much better UX, and support is always within reach anyway.
