Sales Rep review of CaptivateIQ
Captivate was EASY to integrate and simple to utilize ongoing. I'm an individual contributor user and it fits my needs perfectly.
Avantages
Captivate makes it easy to quickly review the high level commissions reports, and also makes it easy to respond to discrepancies/errors with my finance team. As an end user who was formerly using an Excel spreadsheet "solution", Captivate is world's beyond.
Inconvénients
Nothing comes to mind. Again, this is world's beyond our previous capability, and I'm thrilled with the functionality.

CaptivateIQ is a great solution
Their solution was good, better than I realized. I made the switch to SPIFF because the pitch was really good and they claimed the solution was even more flexible but in reality I can’t get the tool to do what CaptivateIQ could. My company buys businesses as its growth strategy and in that environment flexibility is key. CaptivateIQ was able to pull data from Excel, Salesforce and several integrations we used.
The downside is the support around their solutions is not great. They have a managed services program, but I found they outsource their support resulting in sub-par results.
Ultimately, it’s an easy solution to use. Powerful tool. Hire an expert to manage it and your company can scale its sales operations.
I might go back someday

- I love how it breaks down the deals and the revenues accrued

CIQ Ease of Use and Functionality
Through CIQ, we are able to effectively manage individual sales rep commission inquiries as well as identify and resolve issues that affect a compensation plan as a whole. CIQ also allows for us to self-create our report models in order to provide the best versions of reporting for monthly accounting close and possible.
Avantages
CIQ offers such a diverse amount of functionalities, all of which have their own beneficial aspect that contribute to our company daily. The ability for our sales reps to login and view their payout statements in a user-friendly manner as well as provide us a snapshot of what occurred in order to determine errors (if applicable) is amazing. It also allows the users/admins to dive into the back-end weeds of the system to ensure it's data connectors are working appropriately - for which CIQ is great as it can easily connect with essential systems such as Salesforce, DocuSign, and NetSuite. Integration of this system is perfect as you're able to dictate how you want to design the production instance, no matter how complex or simple you may prefer.
Inconvénients
Some areas for improvement would be providing a few high-level data points that can be easily accessible for relaying monthly/quarterly/annual information to higher-ups. Items such as total commissions paid for the period in USD - you can certainly retrieve this information; however, it's not readily available as one may think. Another area is determining what fields/workbooks have impacts on other areas of the system. Luckily the sandbox instance allows for practice prior to implementation, but when trying to diagnose a fix in a query - you are not exactly sure what the impact of changing a column header or deleting a column may have on your reporting.

This decision was made prior to my onboarding; however, it was conveyed to me that CIQ was chosen for the fact it has the most user-friendly interface, is the least complex system when it comes to manipulating reporting models or setting up new commission plans. Good product that is valubale
I've had an overall positive experience with CaptivateIQ and would say in general the product is easy to use and I can access historical data as well rather easily.
Avantages
CaptivateIQ is fairly easy to use and overall executes what I need it to do which is reflect on commissions to be earned for the month. Additionally, I am able to easily connect with the team members that would own any changes by documenting requests within the tool.
Inconvénients
There are times when I'd like for my statements to have a bit more detail to understand what percentages are associated with what dollars and maybe even the applicable deals that are being included with the rollup of dollars to be paid out. This could be what the admin of this product decides to show vs a functionality standpoint but worth bringing up.

Best payout management software I've used in over 5 years!

1. Transparency in what goes into attainment for a specific quarter - accounts closed, terms of conditions wrt payment schedule, years of contract, etc.

Inconvénients
Might be specific to my company, but when we say we have a TRD to attain, I'd like a breakdown of what goes into the TRD right within my dashboard rather than having to raise a ticket to get access to it.

A great tool that has found the sweet spot between functionality and simplicity
We use CaptivateIQ to automate variable compensation calculations, along with tracking sales performance against quota. Time spent every month performing calculations is reduced by more than 90%, while calculation accuracy has increased. Payees no longer need to wait 1-2 weeks after month close before seeing expected payment amounts. They now have the option of previewing updated pay statements in real time as deals close.

Easy for a single individual to administer the entire application.
Successfully and intuitively mirrors excel functionality.
Ease of integration with Saleforce CRM.
Relatively easy to configure plans and troubleshoot any errors in calculation logic.
Wealth of help articles and plan examples made available to customers in the product knowledge base.
Pace and consistency in which the application receives updates.
Inconvénients
Building custom reports is relatively convoluted compared to the rest of the application.
Pay statement formatting and customization is functional, but a little basic.

While an extremely robust tool, our team found that configuring plans and the overall use of Xactly Incent to be extremely complicated. The exercise of troubleshooting any faulty logic within plans was frustrating to say the least. There is no easy to way to trace calculations through each step to see where the problem is. So complex is the tool, that our company opted to regress back into excel statements after redesigning our compensation plans, as it was too complicated to successfully make the required changes within Incent. While also robust, Xactly Incent's integration tool (Xactly Connect) is also very complex. The vast majority of customer's will need to pay for professional services to create or modify integrations. CaptivateIQ meets our global Incentive payment requirements
CaptivateIQ has created reliability and greater visibility on both commission payments and simple and accurate commission reports for our employees. In the rare case there are any irregularities they can be quickly identified by the users in the portal and addressed by the finance team.
Avantages
The simplicity and clarity of the incentives reporting has made life much easier for both the finance team and the sales and management teams. The level of integrations and the ability to support multiple currencies makes the system ideal for all our trading locations.
Inconvénients
Much like all new applications the UI can be a little confusing to begin with but, becomes quite intuitive very quickly.

I found it to be very intuitive and easy to use. I like how you can raise cases and communicate in the app. The separation from slack and email is good and perhaps more secure that way.

Great Commission Management Tool
Avantages
It's amazingly easy to check my payouts, and to check what's composing them. Approving the commissions is also effortless

Great Product, Great Service!
CaptivateIQ has an excellent support network. They have a helpdesk you can email with any questions or issues, office hours for technical support and you get assigned a business development manager to ensure your needs are met and address any functionality you would like to see implemented in the software. There are several things I have suggested that I have seen implemented since using the software. They are constantly making upgrades to make the software better!
Avantages
CaptivateIQ has saved me so much time when calculating commissions! In addition, the statements the sales reps review allow for transparency in how their commissions are calculated and confidence they are getting paid correctly.
Inconvénients
The design of the commission statements can be a little intimidating; however, the formulas are very similar to Excel and CaptivateIQ has office hours which are held virtually where they pair you with an expert that can answer any questions you have.
