Extremely easy to use- and customer friendly

Overall great customer service, great interface with clients and ease of use is amazing.

Avantages

Reporting is the best part for me- because of the financials and it makes it easy to download my reports and reconcile each month

Inconvénients

Refunds- can be a little tricky (if it is not a recent transaction)

Tedious inventory management systme

Avantages

One of the worst POS system you can think about. In addition to their nasty customer service, the system lacks to basic features that any POS system should have. The way that they advertise their ability to track inventory is misleading and I would say completely lay. If you are using Clover to keep track of you inventory, you will lose time working with the tedious tasks that cost way more than you would loss someone was shoplifting you daily.
And you have to buy their tablet for around $1,500.00 or you need to be locked to 3 years contract that you can't get around it. and also you need to pay for external app in order to get any feature you may think about. Even the basic services that are built in with clover, are not free ; like creating coupon discount.
I don't recommend clover to any small bushiness owner.

You can do better

none, although my bookkeeper is getting overtime dealing with their poor service.

Avantages

When a large table of customers want to divide their check the waitress can utilize the other terminals to run credit cards at the same time. The wait can run 3, while the manager on another terminal can run 3, while the bartender (who is also a manager) can run 3. That would be 9, or more, cards run at the speed of 3 transactions.

Inconvénients

System goes off line quite often, which means you have to take the chance a credit card is regected. We rarely have credit cards regected except when we take cards during the "off line" times. Clover blames the business for being offline, but when questioned and pushed they cave and admit that they were "offline" due to updating. Clover Sucks

Clover for all Merch Needs

We've used the same model for almost 3 years and very had any issue, so I can say I'm one very satisfied customer!

Avantages

It's easy to use, it's very similar to a smartphone in that it has apps which are all very user-friendly. There are large buttons. When I need to print receipts or run payroll I can get all the info I need with a few taps on the screen. Our device is the clover mini and had a touch screen, its sleek, it looks very updated VS old-style terminals which is an added bonus. But if you have any trouble... you can just click the "call me" button and a live person calls very quickly and guides you through whatever you need!

Inconvénients

The devices are not cheap, so if anything happened to it that could be an expensive loss. We lease ours and pay protection plan which is well worth the peace of mind!

Job place made easy

Avantages

Its very easy to use. Wonderful camera. It looks like tmwe are using ipad. Fast software. No laggings.

Avantages

It is really stylish and cool to have a wireless POS machine. Customers comment all the time of it being very modern - yet everyone can intuitively use it b/c its feels like any android tablet
Functions well - , nice on board camera , prints quickly takes payments quickly and allows you to add tons of helpful apps that i did't even know I needed

Inconvénients

The battery life and Charger stand - I've had to replace it twice b/c the charger was not working and the corded back up doesn't really work - the rep was surprised we got it to work at all in a pinch.
Charger needs to be more reliable and there needs to be a back up wired version that can be substituted if the wifi goes done

Perfect for Small Business

I couldn't accept credit payment for months until I joined up with Clover. All better now

Avantages

Clover systems like the POS and cellphone app make it painless to take payments as a small business. They back that up with decent customer service too

Inconvénients

Assigning permissions to different employee and management tiers can be a pain, but once the boss is up to speed it runs smoothly

Credit, Debit, and Cash Payments Made Easy

Overall it is a great system for a small business and is incredibly simple to use. I personally haven't dealt with their customer service but the owner of the CPR training site said they were great and helpful!

Avantages

It doesn't take much training at all to get very familiar with this system. We use it our CPR Training Site and it allows to accept and track payments with ease. We can even print out payment reports with customized timelines and specific details needed. It is incredibly user-friendly and the majority of our customers have no difficulty paying with it. The touchscreens are very responsive and hardly ever misinterpret input.

Inconvénients

The physical design is a little lacking in my opinion. We currently use the "mini and it looks more bulky than mini. Every now and then the receipts will not feed correctly which causes a crease and can plug up the printer (that's an easy fix though).

Clover Credit Machines

We are very satisfied with our experiences thus far with Clover. It is very user friend and if you get stuck on an issue, they have a great support team if you can't figure something out on your own!

Avantages

Clover reports directly into our existing client management system which makes end of day reporting a breeze. We are able to make adjustments in one system and it reflects in both. Refunds are simple if one is necessary.

Inconvénients

The only complaint I have is they have a separate device for "mobile" clover. The devices we have are mounted to the counter so we are unable to take it outside or into exam rooms to get payments directly from the customer.

We have terrible WIFI reception at times, so the connection is disrupted and we are unable to process payments

Ease of use but some difficulty setting up

I helped set up the Clover for a family member's restaurant. The menu was very extensive as it was diner-like items with lots of specifications. Although the contractor Clover sent to set up the system was totally unhelpful, the people who were on the line for customer support were very helpful and nice. It took a few weeks for some of our servers to adjust, but Clover is now running smoothly for the restaurant. My family member is now able to run more accurate sales reports as well.

Avantages

I liked the quick ease of payments, the assignation of users to checks, and the restrictions on login codes. Although the system was difficult to manage with the large amount of items on our menu, it was still possible to see everything, and the servers/cooks got used to the system very quickly.

Inconvénients

The person who was assigned to input the menu only put in the major categories accurately. She did not properly set up choice categories or specifiers, so I had to spend hours redoing her work.

Great for small cafes and shops

Clover offers affordability for small businesses that do very little processing. If you want a stable system and have relatively simple needs, Clover is a great option.

Avantages

In comparison to its' competitors, Clover is by far the easiest POS system to learn. If you can succesfully operate a smartphone, you can manage Clover. This is an asset when dealing with staff who have relatively little POS experience. All of the categories are laid out simply, and everything can be customized with just a few steps. I also like the portability of the physical terminal.

Inconvénients

Customer service is worst than nonexistent, they are just downright unprofessional. If you manage to reach someone, be prepared to be talked down to.

Zero customer service

I’ve been with several Pos systems over the years and these guys take the cake at worst all around.

Avantages

Nothing...
I would never use this service again. They have out of country phone servicer’s who just “escalate” your case. It takes days and weeks to get information after wasted time making calls to them.

Customer service, not organized, no return calls, filled with apologies and excuses

It's like switching from a basic cell phone to an IPhone, without the cost increase

The Clover unit has made my day-to-day operation so much easier. There are so many free and or low cost apps available that I am always finding new ways to free up my time. I use apps to handle my sales tax collection and filing, my employee scheduling, my social media postings and my inventory. As I look at the app store, I imagine new ways I can use apps to make my life easier. When I went into business, I had no idea how time consuming it would be, Clover has given me so much of my time back.

none, would strongly advice against any partnership with clover as its terrible

Inconvénients

Long story short I was promised these devices would accept a particular gift card which my restaurant used in the past which they were never able to get working despite that promise. I was told the range of the devices were great which within our small restaurant they kept dropping. One device also wouldn’t charge and when I called the support line was placed on hold for an hour and a half to which was then disconnected and no call back was made despite have my number, this is just a couple a issues we had in the one shift they were used, the list could go on and on. We used these devices literally once and since have been trying to return them. It’s been 7weeks and I can’t seem to get anyone to take the machines back from clover from paylidify or first data I've reached out to as many outlets as humanly possible. They are a leased device so I’ve been charged to have them sitting and collecting dust. I’ve sent 17email 27phone calls to the 1888 number 14 calls to the rep who signed us up 8 text messages with that person as well. I’ve now spoken with 11 different people giving me 11 different answers on returning them as to which I’ve jumped thru every hoop and have done all that was asked and still have the units. I’ve been promised 6 times boxes were coming for me to return them which still have yet to come. So currently still have the units which have been used once! Ideal POS system for a food truck.

Overall a very positive experience! Great for foodservice and customer support has been able to quickly resolve issues whenever they came up.

Avantages

The interface is clear, easily navigated and very editable to meet your needs. This has been ideal for our coffee truck that enjoys making custom, often complicated orders.

Inconvénients

"Waking up" the system is a slow process, often takes us somewhere between 5 to 10 minutes every morning. Most days we have to do a full reboot in order to get things operational.

Absolutly Awful

Absolutely awful the lease payments are extraordinary and the services is minimally passable at best, not worth the exorbitant cost. Cant switch because the buy out is 10,000.00 for something that costs 2000.00 at most. 3 Clover Minis ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!

Clover for Bicycle Retail

The implementation of Clover was very good and they are a tool for our business. But, their support knowledge base and service is not acceptable.

Avantages

The POS tablets are very easy to use and train new staff on their operation. Also, set up of the tablets is fairly simple. The portal is fairly easy to navigate and once all accounts are set up, managing multiple locations is fairly simple.

Inconvénients

Getting help on the portal and/or our accounts is like calling a government office...alot of menus, tedious, and it depends on who you talk to if they need a secret code, they pass you off, or maybe they can help.

Avantages

The best part about this software is that the devices are wireless, during covid we were strictly curbside, no clients were allowed in the building and the clover was a lifesaver to be able to check people out outside. The clover website is easy to use and navigate and the handheld is very easy to use, I received no training on it and was able to figure it out.

Inconvénients

I love this software, I cant think of anything different, I love that everyone has a different code so we can keep track if someone makes a mistake with charges.

Affordable Startup Cost, but You’ll Pay For it Later

Clover is one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had I a retail setting. We have pushed clients to look at the Square, Shopify or LightSpeed point of sale systems in its place.

Avantages

Not much to like about Clover. It gets businesses with its cheap entry pricing and variable processing rates sound good but in reality it will bleed you dry.

Inconvénients

Everything about Clover is just terrible. It’s a clunky Android user experience, the “apps” are just annoying upsells for features that should be built into the point of sale, and the payment processing can be expensive if you get a lot of AMEX and Discover cards.

Nice Product, Easy to Utilize, Great Features

The software on the back end of the clover POS systems is very nice. Easy to use, ability to make changes very quickly, lots of features and additional add-ons available.

There is not much to dislike about this software, other than the inventory module is not included from the start.

My best friend every day

Love the product, interface, features and reliability. No desire to change anything at this time.

Avantages

I'm impressed with the ease of use and customizable features. My new employees are able to learn the system in a day or two. Thus far I've been able to create all the reports necessary for me to run the business.

Inconvénients

My ability to quickly reach a technical support person was slightly difficult. However, once I reached the right person I was able to resolve my issues immediately!

A modern processor .

Avantages

The interface has a futuresque feel to it . You have the option to input the information directly on the cloud and this is both more convenient and more efficient. Changes sync up instantly and people , thousands of miles from each other , can work on the same data in real time .

Inconvénients

Singled out transactions come with a lot of additional data ,that for us personally is not necessary. This makes Clover not that printer-friendly when it comes to our specific niche .
Refunding takes more effort than ideal .

Great POS system and company

Avantages

Clover made it incredibly easy to conduct retail transactions. The simple interface and Clover POS systems are the most user friendly I've ever experienced.

Inconvénients

Setting up my tax information was a little confusing, but a quick call to customer service cleared up any issues.

That it is portable and easy to use for people who are not tech savy. You can also take pictures of people if you need to when you take their payment.

This software & accompanying app are a good way to accept CC payments securely from remote...

The reason why we choose this software was the hardware that allowed us to accept chips instead of a standard slide of a credit card which is much less secure. Also, because we have individuals accepting payments in remote locations, it was necessary to choose a device that could be used on cell phones or tablets.

Avantages

What I like most about Clover is the ability to take payments on any Smart phone or tablet. Each user has a unique username and password that has certain functionality depending on the permissions given to the user which is necessary when multiple user types will be using the software.

Inconvénients

What I like least about the software is that you must enter a person's name on the order because only sometimes does the card reader capture the card holder's name making it tough to manually reconcile registers after the fact. Also, the app has the option to use a pin number to avoid having to enter a username and password each time, but the app frequently shuts down when inputting the pin and forces the user to always enter their username and password.

Meets all of our needs

Excellent experience. Quality equipment. Reasonably priced. Easy to reconcile to other financial reports.

Avantages

Loved portable units. During the pandemic, our business was operating 100 % curbside. With the mobile units, it made checking out clients an easy process. Easy reporting.

Inconvénients

We haven't found anything we do not like about Clover. We would highly recommend this to practices needing portable units.

Easy to use with a lot of features

Clover is very easy to use and my staff enjoys using it.

Avantages

The clover payment devices are touchscreen and very easy for our patients to use. You can accept a wide variety of payments including cash, credit, check, and apple pay. We use the clover mini as well as the clover flex.

Inconvénients

Clover does not have a built-in recurring payment function that I am aware of. You need to add and app that comes with additional fees.

Bad online presence

Not great impression, especially given we were pushed to buy the hardware.

Avantages

How does a POS during COVID TIMES, not include photos on the online menu? Clover takes the register’s inventory list that is made for in-house ease of ordering and makes a million item list as a “online menu”. Customers are expected to read through the menu like a newspaper. How is this a good marketing strategy? Seams like an ABC rule for any POS company to perfect, if not in normal times, it should be a priority to fix immediately.

Inconvénients

Rep sold the system as competitive to Square. We bought it only because the rep promised to build an online website for ordering, like square does for free. We didn’t know we will be getting a newspaper list filled with items that are priced “ FREE” because the price depended on the size of the drink, “ a modifier” . Hiring a person to give this some thought at clover would be a plus.

Clever Clover!

We had dinosaur service prior to the Clover Mini, at least half of the time you would have to go online and key everything in because the reader didn't work. Clover feels and looks and acts like the rocket age!

Avantages

We have a Clover mini in our offices. It is quite sharp looking, and sooooo intuitive to program for each office as well as use for check or charge, AND to research entries. It takes a little getting used to the icons, but they do make sense once you get used to it. Great instructions came with it for the set-up as well. Love it!!!

Inconvénients

There is nothing I can think of that I do not like about this product, or that they could even improve upon! It is terrific!

Sleek and easy to use

Avantages

Clover is easy to use but also has a bigger range of complex functionality than other cloud-based POS systems. The terminal is very modern but also familiar to customers, the customer facing screen is a big plus. Can accept swiped and chipped cards.
The screen is similar to a smartphone or tablet, it's a touch screen with a pin lock and different "apps" that make it simple to navigate. It has a "test" or training mode that is very helpful in teaching new employees, and most new employees that have used a smartphone catch on quick.

Inconvénients

Setting up your products and sales flow takes some time in the beginning but is then simple to change and customize. There are occasional freezes or bugs but nothing that is difficult to resolve.

Worst service.

Avantages

It's cute in the store as a pos system nothing else

Inconvénients

Customer service support is absolutely horrible. They've been holding thousands of dollars from our account with no explanation. We've been running after them for a month trying to get our money and nobody answers. Customer service support team hangs up, answers and then hangs up because "I don't want to deal with this today". and emails go unanswered for weeks. When I finally get in touch with someone over the phone, they put me on hold for 30 minutes to then transfer me to the end of the call survey, and then hangs up. It's absolutely horrible. Worst customer service support in the World.

Horrible customer service

Avantages

It is fairly easy to use and set up and access remotely

Inconvénients

Today I was on hold for 1 1/2 hours before I finally gave up. That seems to be typical of clover’s customer service. Fortunately it wasn’t an emergency but I would cation potential customers that if their system goes down your odds of getting any help are pretty slim. Keep your old register handy

Customer Service is Non Existant

I get better customer service from the drive thru at McDonalds.

Avantages

Its not difficult to process payments and they are automatically reconciled

Inconvénients

My Clover Flex machine will not work and I have been on hold and dealing with two different support agents now for TWO HOURS. This is ridiculous. Im am now on hold for a "Tier 2" support agent which I assume will be more nonsense and two agents already have no clue why my devise will not connect to the internet. Its fortunate that i can process payments via my computer but why did I pay $$$$ for this Clover Flex machine which has been nothing but problems and slow at connecting via someones modem or cell data.

One of the best POS I have used

Avantages

I love that it is really easy to install and use. Customer service is great! You can easily add products, prices, and have your inventory. You can add other features like customer rewards and ID verification in the case you sell alcohol on your establishment. The processing of cards it's fast. You can add several users and manage their roles and permissions. The best part it is that you can view and check all from online.

Inconvénients

I haven't found any cons up to now, the only thing is it will be better if when using it the taxes from certain products will remove automatically. Instead of doing it manually.

BE WARNED.

The reality is Clover Has one of the higher processing rates out of a huge pool of processing systems. Unfortunately, I thought it was a good idea when I started to process credit cards. Every statement I received I couldn't believe how much I was paying in fees. At least I had the common sense to call and get price quotes from other businesses. I am saving THOUSANDS a year after switching. It seems your paying a premium for a brand, nothing they offer is unusual for a processing system. Most other companies are comparable and have a better processing fee. The processing company I went with was Central Payment (thier customer service will work with you too!)

Avantages

Easy to set up and integrate, fast processing speed, more apps than you will ever use. Unfortunately, that's all the good that comes out of this system

Inconvénients

POOR customer service, Locked in for years (even if your company closes), THEY ARE NOT COST EFFECTIVE!

Love this product!

Great Software, Great Rate!

It has enabled my team to be streamlined which has kept costs down and productivity up!

Avantages

This has been the best credit card processing solution I have ever used. Clover Go is very straight forward and does not operate in a shady manner like the rest of the industry. The software platform is easy and very useful.

Inconvénients

I wish processing Credit Cards on a desktop for phone orders was an easier process. Other than that, this software is great!

Easy payment processing system.

I think Clover has been very helpful for our small business!

Avantages

Our Clover handheld devices are very easy to use for transactions. It is helpful to be able to sync different devices, so you can track sales on individual registers and as a whole.

Inconvénients

We have had trouble several times with our charging dock stations breaking.

Needed a new Payment Processor and they killed it

Customer service has been great to work with. The integration with my website was beyond simple which is what I need running a 2 person business.

Avantages

The ease of which I was able to set up an account for my business and integrated it into my website was astonishing. Most people think of clover as a POS system but I primarily use it on the back side of my website and needed the option for a mobile POS. They have it both.

Inconvénients

The cost of equipment that is needed to use this software as a POS is a bit daunting. There are different levels of equipment, but they are all a little pricey.

Sleekest POS

Avantages

The software is very smart in a way that it recognizes if repeated transactions from the same card is made within a short period of time. This way, it prevents multiple charges for the same transaction.

Inconvénients

From a user perspective, there wasn't any glitch I noticed with the software. The monthly fee could be a hindrance for some businesses wanting to adopt the software.

Reliable Point of Sale System

Instead of manually count inventory, once Clover is setup up and running the inventory management can be automated with few clicks

Avantages

The capacity to organize a physical inventory and process InStore purchases

Inconvénients

When a Parent product needs to synchronize variants with other software it does require additional steps and setup, but as it's not an advertised core functionality is understandable

Lucky Four Leaf Clover

This system is so easy to set up and the training process was so simple. It allowed me to keep track of inventory and also hold bartenders accountable for their money.

Avantages

The system was so simple to set up and it did all sales and cash and also keeps track of inventory which is a big concern in the bar industry.

Inconvénients

I did not like that it only kept numbers for 3 months because I would like it to keep them until we do end of year numbers

Clover Go for Credit Payments

Avantages

Nice to be able to have a device that can connect to your phone & use to get payments for your business. Also the payment go right into your bank account the next day.

Inconvénients

Sometime just trying to make it stay connected to your phone within losing on connection. Need to make sure your phone case doesn't get in the way

Excellent Tool of Small Business!

We have been extremely pleased with the ease of use of Clover. It was a necessary upgrade from our previous system and was simple to teach to our teams.

We are still learning but have been happy with the progress. Much better system than our last.
