Improvements

Overall good experience but difficult to make payments.

For some exercises it would be nice to have a feature to record videos or be able to post live streams.

Don't pay and demand a trail before hand

So at the beginning I ask repeatedly if I could trail the app before signing up for 12 months.
They never let me.
They did do an online presentation with me and I was very impressed with all the features that were shown it had everything I needed so I payed it lump at the start a few hundred pounds and started to use the software.
Straight away I realised it was such a bad mistake.
It's not at all finished there's so many problems with it, after a week I found a client feedback page and realised I wasn't the only one finding it a nightmare to use...
It's such a shame as they have thought of everything but it's not no where near ready yet and if you get your clients onto the software and the app your going to make yourself look incompetent.
I tried to get into but no joy I've just given up, can't waist anymore time with it.
The hardware is even worse the scales and the writs band "fitness tracker" beyond awful.

Beware of any software that doesn't let you test it before hand.
Maybe in a year or two this app will be worth paying for but I wouldn't even use it for free as it is, your just going to come across as unprofessional to your clients.

Customer service is fantastic to be fair.

Everything else unfortunately.

We don't offer trials right now, because we have a fully onboarding process which has been very successful for our existing clients. Not advised for personal trainers

It doesn't help Personal trainers, there are better options in the market. This is a app that was first designed for the general population, and not for personal trainers. Recently they started to sell professional packages - to personal trainers and gyms- but it seems that they are much more interested in gyms, than personal trainers, so all the updates failed to improve the main things that i wanted to improve.

Avantages

It gives you access to a very powerful platform, and you can brand it everything.

Inconvénients

- no Coach app;
- Terrible workout editor;
- You cannot assign workout to a client, he needs to chose it from the available workouts;
- you cannot use the app to track your clients workouts;
- You dont have a demo of the portal, you need to sign for a year membership if you want to access to the portal;

In addition, both our sales and client success team give demos and trainings of the system to all potential and existing clients. Finally, we are currently testing our coaching App which will allow you to track your client's progress on your phone and will launch soon.

Renewing the body

Avantages

A good application for both personal use and professional use as it has a variety of functions. For personal use such as carrying an easy training plan to see short-term results. Business use leads to better performance in its use and project management

Review of my experience with Virtuagym

AWESOME FROM DAY 1. I LOVE THAT I CAN SPEAK TO A LIVE REP. That's what sold me over other options.

Avantages

I like that I can add this as an additional option for my clients, especially because my business is already virtually based.

Inconvénients

I do not like the credits. They can be a bit confusing to explain to a large base of clients.

Terrible Customer Service

Highly recommend against using it.

Avantages

Variety of workouts and easy to use for food logging.

Inconvénients

The customer service! First it took about 1 month before I could even use the customized app. Then I couldn't see my workouts in my app. Apparently that was an Android issue and took about 3 weeks to be fixed. I used the software for some time and, since my client don't really use it, canceled my 1 year commitment 30 days in advance. But nobody seems to be available to acknowledge my cancelation. There's no phone number, no chat feature or anything. Very upsetting and time consuming. They better don't charge me again since I fullfilled my 1 year contract.

We understand that the CMA process can be a little overwhelming and take a little too long for our clients to complete. Because of that we had since introduced a CMA Specialist to make the process fast and easy for our clients.

Glitches with Android is something that is unfortunately outside of our control and we work closely with Android and iOS to find a swift resolution do minimize the inconvenience caused to our clients.

All that being said, we do wish to apologise for the delayed cancellation process. No excuses there and we do appreciate you taking the time to bring that lapse in service to our attention.

The software is good. There are some aspects of the app that would attract different genders...

For a small business the cost of the software is high. This would be great for large gyms or business that are already established.

Avantages

The ability to adjust and refine what you want the client to have. They ability to track finances and request payments is great for small businesses. The staff when discussing the software was very helpful.

Inconvénients

All of the exercise examples are with a male. 95% of my clients are female and would rather see a female for examples.

Customer retention and ease of communication was our primary goal this software smashed those...

Avantages

The fact that I can communicate with all my members in one place, schedule, take payments and have the full functionality of the finance section, but also add in as many staff members as needed specifically to their individual departments just Love this option. Great to track memberships and attendance as well as online option to our business.
The support by far is AWESOME the team that looks after the UK clients are simply incredible and they go over and above to help and have worked late working on our system and to know that you have a full office pulling out all the stops to make things awesome for your business is such a relief. Telephone, email and chat feature are the support methods and when that office is shut other offices worldwide pick up the issue and assist so the support package is by far the best I've come across and without them I would have not stayed with the software. But they have gone above and beyond to help us get it right and that I value a lot, team is fantastic real-life hero's

Inconvénients

The notifications are not very quick, and the apps are individual as opposed to being just one for portal, food and coaching. Lot to get head around at first but support is incredible

Love this product

This is the best product and ahead of its time when it comes to software.

Worst possible outcome. Buyer beware!!

I never do these. But I feel it's my responsibility to help to prevent this type of business from perpetuating. I requested a demo after hearing a gent mention it at a conference I attended recently. During the demo, I was shown functions and features. Now I'm ASSUMING Miquel the salesman, said this software was a 12-month commitment but nevertheless I missed it. I clicked purchase and then realized the length of the commitment. I immediately displayed my concern. I emailed the salesman within minutes explaining i wasn't prepared to commit to some charges on a software I had yet to have seen in any length, much less use. He explained that it was essentially too late. damage was done. Now I'm no Einstien, but if I was to do something similar, using the same logic, to a customer at my gym, cops would be called. They take it and put it in the drawer. Something about the place tells you, "this just isnt for me." so you explain that to the gent behind the desk. And he keeps your money! I'd call the cops. I don't care about policies, that's immoral. We are way too connected these days for this kind of business to flourish. There are plenty of other training apps that don't do business like this, work just as well, and charge a 5th the price.

Where do I begin? The shady sell approach. The unethical operations. The lack of compassion.

What a nightmare

It’s been nothing but a headache and super frustrating.

Avantages

Sounds cool with so many features, customer support is nice and helpful.

Inconvénients

First of all t’s a pain to learn, it has all these features that instead of doing something right, they are all useless. Then since day one we had problems with it, creating embarrassing problems to our new members.
From it not allowing members to signed up online, to charging their cards and not showing in our system, to having to get a different P.O.S system when at purchasing the system I was told it was going to work just fine but it was again useless.
There are always issues I have to keep emailing support almost every week.
Not sure how long they have been around but it seems like they are always fixing issues and have many features in Beta that might or might not work.
On top you have to sign a 12 month agreement so you are pretty much stuck with them.

I have had success with the Virtua Gym software package.

I have been using the Virtua Gym branded app & all in one package since September 2016. Initially it took a bit of time to navigate the system and find out how I could use the features for the services we offer. After some testing, we built new meals plans, as well as integrated workout plans through the software. My team of Dietitians have been able to incorporate the Virtua gym software into some of our planning and tracking, and our clients have had great success. The software is all inclusive, it has many features available to you, so you can customize your software package to your needs. Overall, I am very satisfied with the product, and it has allowed me to expand my services offering. Customer services has always helped me with any issues I've had. I recommend VirtuaGym!

I was told that the software would link with fitbit scales, however, they do not link to the scales, only the trackers.

Useful tool for gyms & trainers! Perfect, saves a lot of time!

Avantages

The option to edit, assign & share training schedules to users is super useful and saves a lot of time. And the combination with food tracking makes the Virtuagym a perfect tool for trainers and gyms. It just saves a lot of time so you can spend more time with your clients.

Inconvénients

There is not an option yet for users to select their own meal plan. This would be handy for in the future.

Great Fitness Platform

Think it's an overall great experience!

Avantages

I like the multi-use function between employee and member. I also like the business tracking, exercise programming and post blog applications.

Inconvénients

It would be great to have more ability for creativity in the blog section and it would be nice not to be so restricted in the posts.

A must for a growing gym/club

Wonderful so far. With so many features, it took a long time to learn it, but with the amazing support of my onboarding consultant, it wasn't even difficult!

Avantages

I like that it allows for automated billing, messaging, and signing of contracts. It is also helpful that clients can book themselves into classes and training appointments!

Inconvénients

The food app is a little clunky, many foods have the wrong information (I think users don't understand how to enter the foods when they add them). The options for portions and entering "meals" could also be simplified and streamlined.

Wish the Product Would Work as Advertised

I give feedback all the time to customer service.
I'm frustrated with Virtuagym. I've made several attempts to create motivating challenges for my Rockstar Clients only to be disappointed because Virtuagym is not working right and their data is not being processed into the challenge.
This is soooo disappointing. I get my clients all excited for a challenge, they sign up and then it doesn't work. It creates mistrust from them in me and the app and it's a let down. Especially since I am a loyal customer with over 100 members.
Also, STILL waiting after months on the sycn for Fitbit to be corrected.

Everything you need with great support

Super friendly and helpful on boarding support and easy to set up. I do look forwrad to working with VG for the next years

Avantages

The scheduling and group schedule is very easy and quick to set up. The overall ease of use and the possibilities of the app and online store are great.

Inconvénients

It would be nice to have the possibilities to manage staff hours.

Habe gefragt im Kundenservice ob es möglich ist die vorgegebene Rechnung zu ändern, weil es nicht in einem Briefumschlag mit Fenster die gefaltete Rechnung einzubringen.Sieht sehr unprofessionell aus, Teile der Rechnungen sind im Fenster zu sehen des Briefumschlages.Wir wurden ziemlich schnell abserviert, mit es wäre nicht möglich einfach bisschen platz einzufügen. Auch die Termin vergabe ist sehr unüberschaubar, vor allem wenn man dauernd schauen muss an welchen Uhrzeiten die Kollegen arbeiten.Manchmal verschwinden merkwürdiger weise Rabatte und Sepa Rechnungen werden falsch erstellt.

Virtuagym Review

I run about 20 clients online, 95% don't even live in my country. Would be a lot harder without the app.

Avantages

Ease of use for me to get workouts to my clients directly on their phones.

Inconvénients

I think its not that easy to get clients stats, pics on the App. I think trainer should be able to set reminders to clients and clientes get measurements and pics on their app that we can see easily when coaching.

Unhappy

Overall experience has been poor. There’s a lot of factors that go in to it being but the biggest thing is my doors not working.

Avantages

The software is relatively easy to use and it also has features that would be nice for members.

Inconvénients

There are a ton of “bugs” in the system that cause major operational issues. For example, the client check-in is absolutely horrible. It consistently doesn’t work which leads to the doors ( front door and tanning) to not work properly majority of the time.

Not what I needed

This software is better suited to someone wanting to manage clients one-on-one, manually.

After trialling for a few days, I realised that it wasn't going to suit my business coaching needs as we do some group programs (as do many Personal Trainers and gyms) and I need a system that has automations integrated and the ability to tag and group my clients based on the programs they are doing. This system cannot do this.

This company doesn't advertise a free trial period like many competitors but is still bound by the cooling off period on its contracts. I cancelled 5 days into trying to set up the system. A week later, after advising the product wouldn't suit, I am still waiting on an answer about a requested refund and cancellation of my contract. Even though by law, Virtuagym must provide at least a 7 day cooling off period, 8 days later they still won't confirm that I can cancel. I still have to wait 'on management reviewing' my case?

I have trialled 3 other systems and haven't had any issue up to this point. There are some amazing programs on the market but it's hard to ascertain the functionality of system until you work in it.

I have now had to advise my bank of this dispute and to challenge the current charge plus any further. I am really disappointed with this poor service.

I would like to clarify something for the readers of your review. We do not offer a trial right now, because we want to help you get the most value out of the system. A guided onboarding process has been the most successful for our existing clients. Our solution is very extensive and flexible, and therefore we prefer to help our clients getting the most out of it based on their needs. Together.

Also, as far as I know, a 7-day cool off period only applies to consumers, and not to businesses. I can see you signed a 1-year contract with us. By law, I don't think we did anything wrong. This is the first time I heard about this specific case happening, so I assume that's why it takes a bit longer to get back to you.

Good tool to manage attendance of fitness classes

Our dance school is using VirtuaGym to manage the attendance of our members in the classes. The system is easy to use and allow certain customization to fit to our corporate identity.

Avantages

Very easy to understand and use. The system also allows certain customization which help us adjust teh app to the corporate identity of our fitness school.

Inconvénients

Certain functionalities do not work properly and it is not easy to get grip on the support team.

Great Options and Features

Avantages

We wanted to set ourselves apart from all other Fitness Facilities in the area. Virtuagym gave us that ability. We were able to create and customize an App specific to our needs and have the ability to make changes as needed as we grow. I love that everything is in one place and we easily view sales and memberships.

Inconvénients

Some of the functions are not as user friendly as others. There seems to be added steps that could be better set up especially in Point of Sale.
It was a learning curve to switch to a new system for us, but it seems to be working smoothly now.

Terrible, Dishonest Company

None, unless you count less money in the bank account as a benefit. I don't.

The software could be great with quite a few improvements, but it lacks much basic functionality such as automated billing.
- The sales people are slick tongued and can sell really well. They'll promise you whatever you want! (See Cons)

Inconvénients

- As mentioned, they promise a lot and then don't deliver. If you ask about a feature they don't have, they'll assure you it "launches next month" or some such nonsense.

- Sales people sell a product they don't have by promising/"showing" features they don't have.

- They WILL charge you as long as they possibly can, even going so far as to change the names that appear on the credit card statement in order to circumvent account holds.

- They won't let you try the platform before committing. Their minimum contract is 12 months and the "cancellation" terms are to pay out the entire remaining contract even if you don't want to use the service.

- When you do try to cancel, they'll delay replying long enough to charge you at least one more time, then they'll try to make you jump through hoops with "cancellation paperwork" when the contract expressly states they accept cancellation via simple email.

- This company is a scam. Stay away!

Review of Virtuagym App Platform

Good, better, best - from due diligence through launch and ongoing support we could not have asked for a better rollout process and support. Their platform is intuitive and easy to set-up and they have worked to customize a detailed integration with our Club Management Software ABC Financial. Been impressed at every turn - cannot recommend them enough!

Avantages

Robust platform with comprehensive feature set and support and implementation team that consistently goes out of their way to provide education and guidance every step of the way.

Inconvénients

Really like the entire package - looked at every options out there in detail and Virtuagym checked all the boxes. Their ongoing support has made it an absolute pleasure to work with everyone on their team!

My experience was positive. From the beginning I was able to use the software easily

It's easy to use, there is the possibility of quick contact with assistance and the enormous availability and continuous updates that make the app easier and more intuitive. The updates also make it possible to continuously icrease the functions and the possibilities of use.

Inconvénients

honestly I have nothing to reproach the app. I will stop using it because my work has changed and it's not in the fitness world so this software is not useful for me anymore.

Do not use them!!!!

Horrible. There are so many other companies out there serving the same industry that do a much better job, have a better product and actually have their customers best interest in mind.

Avantages

There was a nice guy that help with on boarding.

Inconvénients

They told me they had all the features I needed. After having to start a one year contract the system was far from what I thought I was getting, my clients haven’t been able to use it so I told them I wasn’t happy and couldn’t use their service. After telling me they can only reduce my rate (I’m still paying for something I can’t use) they continue to charge me full price. I’ve tried to contact them about them charging me full price after they said they could only reduce my rate. As I waited for a response another month went by and they charged me again. As I try to talk to customer service they shuffled me to a different person to now have to start all over again. I first tried to cancel back June and it is now September! This company is very self serving and dishonest.

This webiste

Virtuagym was brought to me by one of their sales representatives who made me believe that the application would specifically meet all my expectations, such as the integration of the virtuagym calendar with my Google calendar.
They don't offer any free trial and you therefore have to risk a much higher price than some competitors like MY PT HUB who offer exactly the same thing for 4 times less. Dissatisfied with the product, they not only refused me a refund ($474) but wanted to force me to pay for a 3-month commitment ($175/month) for a product that I will not be using. Having tried several applications, I strongly recommend this company. Try MY PT HUB instead.

Will be good in another 1-2 years I think, but currently not as great as it makes out it is.

Avantages

The software has the beginnings of a well rounded, professional platform - IOS and Android applications complement the Web Portal Interface.

Many of the features are workable, some are much better than the other alternatives on the market.

Inconvénients

Lack of visibility in product's development - as a client we don't know when a promised feature will be released (if ever). Basic functionality such as the ability to create supersets inside the workout editor took years to implement; VG stated that this was because the workout editor needed a complete redesign; but did not give anyone any idea of when this would be released other than *soon*.

Billing automation is clunky and does not integrate with many of the vendors in the market.

Great software

Great service from [SENSITIVE CONTENT]! I like the software for the easy use and for all the feature and the apps are a nice addition for my clients

Avantages

The software is easy to use once you get the onboarding training. It has a lot of feature that you can use with your clients and it gives you the chance to brand everything which is a plus when selling your services!

Inconvénients

The coaching app needs the appointment schedule for staff. Is kinda inconvenient having to go to the website for it.

Virtuagym is great to work with and address our needs quickly. They also help us come up with solutions that help us get the most out of the features.

Avantages

Virtuagym offers the ability to put all of our content and services within the App which makes it easy for our members to access all of our content in one convenient place. It is easy to add tiles on the app that access other websites or companies we work with.

Potential But No Support

I have 21 questions and growing. All presented in a PDF. I presented the bulk of the questions in early November 2018 when I purchased and I have yet to find answers to the questions I presented then. I don't get feedback. I don't want to hear excuses. I want to see action. Like all business people. The app makers probably understand that. I am not seeing any actions. My questions are still pending... Very frustrating. I've requested for a supervisor and no one is listening. They have taken my money but they aren't providing support. I don't get it.

I wish there was a free trial for a month. I didn't request for any special things like creating a button for me or special links. Nothing special. Very cut and dry account. Why not have a free trial so we can test it out and see what we are truly facing. If I had been exposed to it like this I would not have purchased.

It's potential to be an all-in-one tool.

The fact that potential is sold by the sales team but once you purchase nothing works and you're locked into a contract.

Horrendous Customer Service!

Terrible!!

Avantages

This software is easy enough to use, but so are many other ones.

Inconvénients

The customer service has been atrocious! I tried to cancel my agreement before my first year was up and was told by a customer service manager that if I just stuck with them, they could show me how they would improve their service, and if I was not happy after a couple more months, she would cancel my agreement herself. So I stayed, willing to give it a few more months. Now I try to cancel and they say sorry, you owe for the entire rest of the year. Seems like quite the scam!!

- June 2018 - you requested to cancel but agreed to stay.
- November 2018 - I called and emailed you as promised to see if you still wanted to cancel. You did not respond to either communication.
- December 2018 - your license renewed for another year and your system continued to be used by you and your clients.
- March 2019 - you emailed asking to cancel again. Your request was denied as you were 4 months into your 2nd term.
- You had mentioned that you were never told about your renewal after 12 months but we did discuss this on the call and it is also on the license that you had accepted before making the purchase of the system.

I am sorry that you feel that you were scammed but we had stuck to every point of our agreement, however, we would be happy to discuss this further with you. Please call/email us at your convenience.

Great app. Easy to use

It's been a good experience

Avantages

Its easy to book my sessions. And I can cancel or reschedule.

Inconvénients

I dont always get notifications. so sometimes I miss a session that may have came available.

Fitness Programs

It's been pretty good!

Avantages

I like being able to put together workouts for my clients. I just wish I could pull from past workouts to make a new one instead of starting from scratch.

Inconvénients

When searching for an exercise unless I type it exact it doesn't show up. Also, I don't like how occasionally some group members have issues posting.

Easy to use product with a vast array of content; excellent after care from the designated account manager! Highly recommend.

Inconvénients

It’s a shame the integration with specific tech isn’t more extensive.

After using several other software's, Virtuagym is by far the best!

VirtuaGym has given us an amazing online platform to offer everything you and your client needs. The software is easy to use, super affordable and can handle just about anything we need it to do in order to run our fitness center. The members really enjoy the applications especially the nutritional guidance. It has been absolutely amazing to have the ability to add our own QR codes, youtube videos, video workouts, and images for our pro members to have access to has been valuable. Building the classes, schedules and memberships took some time to figure out but the support was above and beyond all competition. They never complain about how many times we ask for help and are extremely responsive and knowledgeable. VirtuaGym is constantly updating their software to meet the needs of this industry and I am excited to see how much they grow in the future. If you dream big for your business then there's no need to shop around for any other software/membership program.

Amazing gym management software!!!

Everyone at Virtuagym is awesome! Prompt responses, great functionality (although slightly unintuitive sometimes), great pricing, fully featured... Everything I need for my 24 hr gym!!

Avantages

I love everything about this software. Being able to sign up members online as well as in person, having people check in with the access control software and hardware, the fast response from support... Its all awesome!

Inconvénients

The only things missing from this nearly perfect software are setting billing dates per client (specific days, weekly recurring), and a card reader for the POS system.
