Great Companion for a Small Business Owner

I have used it for as long as I have been in business and it has allowed me to be very successful and reach my goals.

ACT is AWESOME!

I my overall experience with ACT has been very good over the last 30+ years.

Avantages

I have been using ACT since early 1990's and is still my "Go To" for contact management.

Inconvénients

I wish the iPhone app would interact with the native app and not have to use a 3rd party interface.

ACT! Excellence

I have been using ACT for over 30 years and have recommended it to hundreds of people and companies.

Avantages

It literally runs all aspects of my life seamlessly.
The recent upgrade was assisted by your technician, [sensitive content hidden]. I have been resisting an upgrade for years (I think I was on 20 because I was concerned of a failure during the process. He was outstanding and to sum up my impression of him in succinctly:
very Patient, very intelligent and very knowledgeable

ACT Contact Management Software

Good overall, except for the times that it hangs when using it, and I have to close the application and start again.

Avantages

Easy to use for my purposes. I only use it to store contacts and create history files

Inconvénients

I have had many cases where the remote database would stop working with the cloud. Always fixed by ACT, but frustrating. Also, I repeatedly have situations where ACT hangs, and often I have to close it out and start again. This has probably happened over 50 times. When I call ACT for support, it gets resolved, but I never get a good answer why it is doing this.

Great Program to manage your time

As stated above the ease of use and we were very familiar with the functionality
since we used an old version since 2006

Avantages

Ease of use and we have used it since 2006 when we had 38 employees

Inconvénients

getting use to the cloud version since we were on the 2013 on our server

A user for 30 years!

An essential tool in product marketing for over 39 years.

Avantages

The ability to bespoke the database fields and desgn layout with its Marketing Autonation module.

Inconvénients

Its use of SQL server software which can be very tempramental

Cloud version a little clunky

Whilst it does have CRM and email marketing capaibilities, it needs some work to make the UX more user friendly and easy to navigate

Has some good capabilities in CRM and email marketing

Inconvénients

Its a little clunky the interface and could do with some redesign to make it more streamlined and user friendly

Ease of Use

Avantages

I've been using Act for many years and the ease of use and synchronizing to Outlook makes it a very convenient tool for managing customer databases.

Inconvénients

Act tends to be behind in keeping up with being compatible with new releases of Windows and Windows-related programs.

Class Act by BH

I was introduced to Act by a manager who insisted I use this all the time and would check out my usage
It was really helpful and could not have done my job if I didn’t have the Act set up

Avantages

Ease of looking up customers by company name

Inconvénients

Had no issues with using the Act database so really nothing bad to say

Over two decades with Act!

I've used this for over 20 years and it's helps me remember every contact that I've made. Now I have email folders that I need to refer to since I don't always have the time to reiterate what is in the emails into the Act! file.

Avantages

It organizes my contacts and the notes updates me quickly to what's happening with that account. Documents for each customer are also at my fingertips.

Inconvénients

It takes too long to load. I have to open it first at the beginning of my day so nothing else interferes with the time to load. (I just updated it with your customer service and it still takes longer than I'd like, FYI).

Would highly recommend

Brilliant - I would highly recommend ACT to anyone as a full on CRM system, there is definley more we could do with the system, but it is having the time to speak to [sensitive content hidden] who is fantastic.

Avantages

We can adapt the layout to our needs and the support from [sensitive content hidden] is absolutely fantastic, even if it is a small query. It works well with our records with dates etc and getting the reports we require is perfect

Inconvénients

There are no cons as we have adapted the system to suit our needs with the help of [sensitive content hidden]

President and CEO

Had the product since 2006 and only one time was the a small problem fixed that day! A great product!

Avantages

What's not to like First of all Client set up is a breeze! Once entered all notes are time dated. To email your client their is an Icon click on it and it automatically opens up Outlook and fills out the email address. Send and email and it keeps a copy of the email you sent to them and or received from them time dated. It allows you to set have set groups of which you can email everyone in that group. For instance maybe you have people who use tank cars, people may use box cars or need certain products you can have send a blast just to those people with a simple click on the group or groups. Want to see the locations a client there is an ico click on that a google maps opens and you can do a satellite view. Suffice it to say it does everything but wash the dishes.

Nothing! The survey is asking for a min of 40 words to describe what I don't like ok its not free!

Liking AMA

Mostly positive. Use the CRM and AMA. AMA is easy to use and the stats go into the CRM. One Stop Shop.

Avantages

All in one affordable solution for a CRM with AMA.

Inconvénients

APC does not have all the functionality of the Desktop version. Therefore we have RDB's and sync so that we have the extra functionality. Often times the ACT servers are too busy for us to sync successfully during the day. We have to wait until after hours to sync.

ACT cloud for Marketing

ACT is a solid program and has been working for us since 1999. The cloud based version is new for our company but one we are welcoming since we want to speed up the database process. The old desktop version has become super slow and time consuming with freezes and overall slowdowns navigating through the CRM.

Avantages

We have been using ACT for 19+ years. To make the switch to the cloud version just seemed logical. It has the basics features that we need and was simple to transfer over to the client.

Inconvénients

ACT does not have all the bells and whistles that we would like such as power dialers and automatic reporting.

Act is Better than Other PIMs

With Act, I always believed I was a step ahead of my competition.

Avantages

I have been using ACT since 1995. It has been a central part of my business. Act allows one to keep the essential data on contacts and has easy many methods for looking up customers or information that might be elusive when one has several thousand contacts..

Inconvénients

Over the years updates were often sketchy. Today those issues have been solved.

Feels like home

Loving it so far - feels like coming home.

Avantages

I used ACT! for nearly 20 years in my previous role and when I went freelance I really missed it but thought it was not affordable. I am now so busy I really needed to get organised and I was pleasantly surprised at how affordable it actually is. It only really needs to save me one hour a month to give me more than return on investment - and it did that on day 1!

Inconvénients

I made a silly error uploading and couldn't figure out how to undo so I shall be calling on the onboarding team for help.

Simple to Start Using!

I have used ACT! in three different businesses. One of them eventually bought a much more complex database and I was so pleased how well all my ACT! info was integrated into the new system. Another was a non-profit that didn't think they could EVER afford a sales database. They are now using ACT!

Avantages

I love how simple it is to get started with this program. It is a great database for the business that has NEVER used one. It keeps all my information, notes, contact information and documents all in one place. I have used it in three business that previously had nothing but spreadsheets.

Inconvénients

The program does so much, that someone is not technologically savvy has trouble using all the features. I think more people would be willing to "give it a "try" if tech support was free.

Act! lets me focus on all of my customers at once instead of one at a time

We rely on Act! daily. Without Act! I would not be able to stay on top of all of the activities in my daily workload. Its effective management of complex sales operations and its user-friendly interface make it an invaluable asset.

Avantages

Act! keeps me organized, despite all of the people I work with each day. It helps me keep track of all the quotes, orders and to-dos so I don’t miss important deadlines.

Inconvénients

I really don’t have any. Honestly if I did not have Act!, I would not be able to stay on top of all the activity going on in my daily workload. I would end up losing contacts as well as missing many of my customer needs.

ACT is indespensible!

I could not do my business without it! Syncing to my phone is so critical

Avantages

I have been an ACT user for over 30 years. It has evovled with my business. I think I used to snyc it with my Palm Pilot! Today I continue to appreciate how it keeps the info on my precious clients. I am also very appreciative of the top-notch screen sharing technical support I get so quickly .

Inconvénients

I wish I had the time to learn to use more features.

ACT! Not only becoming more powerful, but even easier to use.

An excellent app, but with a steep learning curve. But surprisingly improved in the past year. Training would benefit from trainers listening to users.

Avantages

ACT! is working hard to make itself my highly valued CRM/Partner. Frequent functionality upgrades and increased reliability. Excellent technical assistance.
Expanded training videos and knowledge database. Act CRM is well integrated with Marketing Automation. It is not an add-on, but is central to and easy to use.

Inconvénients

I have used ACT! for a long time. For much of the time, I was intimidated by its complications. Weak training did not help. A steep learning curve also required that I learn by trial and error. Much time was wasted learning to use ACT!'s power. ACT! 's muscle was hidden by requiring that I learn on my own instead of having good training.
ACT! would benefit from seeking out suggestions from users as to improvements in training. Some of these stunning features took forever to learn on my own.

The information that is logged, the communication history is vital!
ACT is the best product I've ever used and I've been using it for 12 years!

Inconvénients

Nothing and I mean nothing!!!!
The system has never let me down but I have to admit, you only get what you as the user input in!!!!

Meda Int'l Review

Having used Act! in previous businesses as well as other solutions, Act! is probably the easier of solutions to use without having to tick endless boxes for information that would be surplus to our needs,

Avantages

Easy and simplicity of use that we've customised for our business.

Inconvénients

We possibly aren't maximising the use of our solution, but it does a great job for what we ant out of it.

Using Act for a long, long time.

I've been using it since the 1980's... It was a DOS application! I've added thousands of contacts and used it for mail merge purposes.

Avantages

It has a lot of CRM features at a reasonable price.

Inconvénients

There's no integration between it, and Google Contacts, or the integration is not comprehensive...

Great Product and Tech Support

ACT is an excellent product with great tech support

Avantages

ACT works well and the customer service is excellent. The tech support is great as well

Hard to understand the tech support but he got my problem solved

Act is like a diesel engine, will never let you down.

I did used it for years and plan to stick with it

Avantages

Very easy to customize, with lots of add-ons and a decent price.

Inconvénients

they are not too quick to respond to the other companies developments

Argus International

Many times very frustrating because some of the functions were not clearly understood.

Avantages

Easy access to several functions and reference information access.

Inconvénients

In the past it was poor support because of long delays in answering and sometimes not able to understand the support person.

It's gotten so much better over time!!

Seems like I am always finding new things to do with the program. Very user friendly and I find it easy to navigate. Like with anything, you have to be willing to put some time into seeing what it can do specifically for you.

Avantages

I have used several versions of Act for years now. I like the easy conversions of making excel spreadsheets to share data.

Inconvénients

The Cons go back to the very early versions.

I live on ACT all day long

I have been using ACT since it was a DOS program.

Keeps everthing in one place for my business.

Can be a little slow and drags on my computers resources

Easy to use

Avantages

We have been using Act Desktop for years. We recently converted to the online program to allow for easy coordination between partners. I was able to instruct an 80 year old man-set in his ways- how to use the new version within 30 minutes with very few questions. That in itself is worth the price!

Inconvénients

So far, I haven’t seen anything that I don’t like.

ACT is a great product

Over the last 30+ years of using ACT I have been totally satisfied, and I have found nothing better.

I have been using ACT for over 30 years, it is easy to use, comprehensive, works great either on my PC or with the Cloud. ACT's customer support is the best I have ever used.

A Powerful Means to Organize Une's Day and One's Work.

ACT! sat turned on on my desk at all times that I was in the office. It was the information source by which i lived.

Avantages

Act's is a powerful organization tool. For example, one can talk to an individual on the telephone, hang-up, record in ACT a brief of the discussion, than later (on a defined date) talk to that individual again.

Inconvénients

If your ACT goes down, you're now very likely in a quite difficult situation.

All in One CRM for Sales & Marketing Teams

Very good, ideal for storing contacts, opportunities and making use of grouping contacts for marketing emails - a nice function.

Avantages

Main features are easy to use such as adding companies and contacts. Lots of training videos available.

Inconvénients

Some features feel a bit clunky but this could be a system issue rather than the software itself.

Price - Most of the alternative products out there have multiple subscription fees for different teams, Act was a universal CRM and for a small business this is just what we need. Act was also a more cost effective product.

One system

I have enjoyed getting to learn about Act and all the different features, but see that all of the new features cost more money. This is difficult for a small business with only a few users. I like that I can always get help with the added cost.

Avantages

The act database is one area to keep all files and information. It is tied to Outlook and saves all emails under contact as well.

Inconvénients

That you have to pay for each feature that you might want to use.

Dependable and Easy

I have use ACT! since 2001. It has made a lot of improvements over the years. I would highly recommend the product! It does everything we need and more!

Avantages

I like the different sorting options. The mail merge is also a good tool for us.

Inconvénients

The synchronization feature does not work after 2:30 pm for us.

Great system

Great customer service and very knowledgeable. Easy transition from localised platform to online.

Avantages

We have used the system for year and it is a fantastic way to manage our customer database. You can keep things very simple or you can integrate the system to run your complete business.

Inconvénients

The initial setup modifying the fields can be a little confusing at first but once you get into a rhythm it doesn't take too long.

Act and old and reliable friend.

I have looked at other CRM packages and find they offer no great benefits.

Avantages

It is easy to understand and use. You can add fields on any screen and it's user friendly.

Inconvénients

Integration with exchange is unreliable. Support is spotty at best.

Great system for businesses big and small

Good, but need to review the training which I've just become aware of after 18 months of using it.

Its not the best service on the market but is sufficient for what we need.

Many years of reliable data preservation. When I need tech help, people will reach in and make needed changes - decent customer service.

ACT keeps my D-Base and does so very well.

Act! Review

Hmm. I pay a lot for something that does not change.

Inconvénients

the format design seems to have been taken away from a salesperson and given to a techie. The history now can be tricky to follow. It used to be very straight forward with corresponding dates/times per entry. No lomger the case you can have multiple entries per date so not accurate any more. also changing date for mat for future task was much easier, now you have to scroll through to get to a date. Painful, again a techie must have taken over design role, a sales guy would keep in nimple.

WONDERFUL

Best data base I've experienced

Avantages

As a result of my virtual illiteracy, I like being to make a call & have a competent, knowledgeable tech FIX my issues

Inconvénients

The updates are a PIA

luckily the staff compensates for my lack of computer savvy

UI Improvements

Great. I've been working with [sensitive content hidden] for the past few weeks and he's been extremely helpful. We are only a small organisation but he has taken care to guide me through the transition step by step. He couldn't have communicated

Avantages

Online features make it easy to access data.

Inconvénients

The UI could have some significant improvements. Immediate suggestions for the online version would be:

- Include keyboard shortcuts
- Ability to clear the search function with the click of a button
- Improve layout editing more user friendly
