1. Data Modeling: Use for large data model without using complex queries.

Inconvénients

1. Cannot combine 2.0 report into 3.0 dashboard E.g: Some report needs to use complex query to visualize but we can't create it in a 3.0 dashboard, force us to create new table in dataset
2. Job dependency: Reports cannot load independent therefore with multiple users use holistics at a same time, they will need to wait for their turn.

1. The best feature is of this software is, scheduling the automatic email, which is the number 1 request from all our customers. If one day holistics email stops, our customers will question us.
2. Email feature gives the Top management like CEO, PM's, Director the overall view of what is happening at their project.
3. Best is Dashboard Emailing - 200% benefit, Even microsoft Power BI doesnot have this feature, so you guys beat Power BI in this aspect. Kudos.
4. Cant imagine a day without your software.

1. The major drawback is Drilldown feature not available like Power BI
2. Creating Timeseries filters, dropdown takes more time in holistics. Which needs improvements.

Avantages

Its Git-based version control allows us to bulk edit, refactor and maintain our dashboards more efficiently. It’s a massive time-saver. Common analytical functions, such as period-over-period comparisons and percent-of-total calculations, are natively supported as built-in features, which significantly reduce our development time. The platform also performs well even as our data needs and transaction volumes grow.

Inconvénients

Some self-service features could use a bit of polishing since non-technical users occasionally run into UX bumps.

Avantages

The price of Holistics is very good compared to their competitors, some being 10x the cost but would not deliver 10x the value.

The team at Holistics is very friendly and always open to feedback, which we really liked. They are always looking to improve their product and get community and key customer feedback into their product.

I like that they provide a single place for you to model your data and the interface for modelling (both Code and Visual) allow for good flexibility in creating what you want to do.

Holistics is missing a few key features which does make it a little harder to use than other systems. This can mean additional work or complexity when trying to do something quite complex within Holistics e.g. Role Playing Dimensions or cross model calculations.

Avantages

Holistics is easy to use and intuitive, making it easy for our business users to quickly get value out of it. We love the drag-and-drop options for building reports and exploring data. Additionally, the ability to add business calculations when creating charts offers great flexibility as we have more possibilities to change data and to add formulas to make a more precise chart.
Holistics access control is also really robust. We have a huge user base with diverse user groups with varying requirements and tasks, and Holistics makes it really simple to share different dashboards with different groups without losing track.
We also had the chance this year to try out the newer version of Holistics Canvas dashboard recently, which offers more design options, resulting in great new charts and dashboards! We have taken our dashboards to a new level of design.
Their support team is also incredible, always offering enthusiastic and quick responses to our questions.

Inconvénients

While Canvas dashboard is great, it’s still in early beta so creating dashboards have become slightly more complex. However, the Holistics team has shared with us that they are well-aware of it and actively improving the user experience.

We've encountered performance issues with lengthy dashboards, which occasionally cause out-of-memory errors. While the autosave feature has helped mitigate some of these problems, we sometimes face interruptions due to the sheer size of our dashboards.

1) Easy to use: I can check my key metrics daily, spot trends, and use the dashboards for presentations to our stakeholders. 2) Interactive, flexible dashboards: It’s really easy to add filters and drill down into the dashboard to get insights for specific campaigns. The ability to customize views makes it really convenient for me to focus on specific data.

There are minor UX improvements needed, for example, filter placement within the search box can clutter the experience.

Avantages

The drag and drop functionality makes it easy for non-data users to learn, and eventually create their own reports for exploration and analysis - the "fan out" errors are a great way to alert users if they are potentially making a mistake. The modelling layer forces analysts to think about how to reduce overlaps in code (i.e. reusing models across datasets). I really like the "matches" date filter operator, as it reduces the number of clicks and mental processing required from users during selection.

Inconvénients

New table columns cannot be automatically detected in table models, and have to be manually added via AML. There is also a trade off in the complexity of self-serve if too many relationships are defined in a dataset. It would be great if there are more advanced access control features and version control features (e.g. creation of pull requests).

- Very easy to use. Unlike other tools, I got the hang of Holistics pretty fast. I'm the one in charge of creating reports for people in my company, so Holistics saved me quite a bit of time on this and I managed to spend my time doing other important stuff.
- I like how Holistics have helped me to automate some of the repetitive tasks. We sent out email schedules automatically for everyone on our team to stay updated.
- Good customer service
- Fast support team

Inconvénients

- Issues in data imports does not always have enough context.
- Some minor bugs, not a big issue as they fixed the bugs quite fast. If they can't fix it, they would get back to us with a workaround. The people in their support know the product well.

Avantages

The biggest benefits that I've realized after using Holistics are:
1) For dashboard creation, something that would take me several hours if I write SQL queries, I was able to do in a few minutes with Holistics with just a little bit of tweaking.
2) Our data request queue was reduced from one month to almost instantaneous. Our end users who don't know how to write SQL are able to get the data they need very quickly and they're able to make more informed data decisions.
3) With Holistics, I can minimize the amount of raw SQL I have to write in a day. Because my business users are able to rapidly help themselves with the datasets and reports that we provided them. We particularly love the drill-throughs and cross-filtering functionalities.

Avantages

I love the filters, email schedules and the data imports. The fact that those are pretty useful and sort of painless to use to me is great. But most of what I like is the support and constant improvements made to the product! (love that new years animation in the menu bar too). Looking forward to more innovations hopefully some simple machine learning implementations that can help us clean and visualize data

Inconvénients

People in my organization tend to export a report and do pivots and simple excel-like things to the data which I find to be very counter-productive so maybe introducing a feature to sort that out would be helpful. I wish it had a more Google Drive sharing and viewing system, right now if I give access to a report, to a particular user, that user also sees the folder in which that report lies which is not really cool, they also don't have the ability to manage their reports much. Nothing else I can think of off the top of my head.

Avantages

Holistics makes it easy for data team to create and manage different dashboards and reports, with query templates to make it easier to maintain the SQL query codes across different reports. Having an ETL option makes it a big plus to have a full-stack solution. One constant surprise that Holistics always give is that the features developed by the team is always on-point, and what we really wanted. The support team is responsive even on weekends. Keep up the good work!

Most BI tools have the end-users in mind and often is a nightmare for the data team to create and manage the different dashboards and reports. We were on RJMetrics and tried to look through other solutions like Lookr, Mode, and none of the alternatives were better than RJ Metrics. Decision to go ahead with Holistics was made within 10 mins. The UI of the dashboard is not as good as the other BI tools. While the metrics dashboard is a good ideal, not allowing query templates to work in metrics dashboard makes it not possible to use it as our daily dashboard.

The positioning of Holistics among other BI tools are very unique hence complement the needs of Holistics even though we are already equipped with other more well known BI software.

Using Holistics has been made very intiuitive especially for data analyst / engineer that already has familiarity with writing sql code. We very much like the ability of Holistics in performing ETL job and its scheduling ability.

Last but not least, their heartfull customer service practice and and their proactive approach in taking feedback from customers are the one true quality that set them apart from the others.

The pricing scheme can get a bit tricky which can be very costly on some use case.

Avantages

The filter and Explore result function of Holistics is the solution for our direction. We are also able to achieve our goal, reducing business hours, by utilizing the Email Schedule feature to automate our weekly reports that were manual.

I think SQL template is what I like least about this software. The purpose of the function was great but it is quite hard to get used to use.

Easy to use and friendly, helpful support. More features are being added to the software, and I'm always keen to see what else the software can do.

Drill-down reports are still not very easy to be implemented. Perhaps there could be more automation in setting up similar email reports to different recipients.
