I love that it simplifies my life! I literally don't know what I would do without Okta because it allows me to easily access to tools that I need without having to remember a zillion passwords.

I can't find anything yet. One thing I've thought about is being able to use it for personal log ins (instead of just work-related ones). I haven't tried this but would love to consolidate my personal and professional log in credentials into 1 Okta account.

I like that this software reduces the number of passwords I need to remember — down to one. It also has a pretty user-friendly interface, showing the logos of each cloud tool you use.

I haven't yet figured out how to remove tools I no longer use from my dashboard, but it's possible that's an admin-only control. I also have a few apps that won't connect their sign-in function to Okta, meaning that when I click on their logo in Okta, the app still makes me sign in individually.

I used this tool when I taught at KIPP DC, and it was amazing to have all the tools we use in one simple spot!

It tried to add *every* website to the Okta screen, which was not great, since Okta was for work, and a lot of the sites I visited after work hours (e.g. Facebook, Netflix) I didn't want added to the Okta screen! :)

I like how secure the software is and how it requires two step verification especially when your computer contains very sensitive information.

The only con I see with this software is that you’re unable to update the phone number associated with your OKTA account unless you reach out to your administrator to reset. I recently changed my phone number and was unable to verify through OKTA because I didn’t have access to the old number.

I love that all of the tools I use are saved in one place. It's easy to sign in.

The constant reminders are irritating. You'll stay logged in for the day but will need to login again tomorrow. Which means Okta will send you pop up reminders on your computer until you log in. This is annoying because I don't need Okta every day so I'm being pestered for no reason.

Straight forward approach to getting all our applications using the same login credentials. Okta makes this easy. Also dashboard gives option of giving external user a single access point for our systems.

Okta centralizes my logins for frequently used business applications, such as Salesforce, JIRA, Google Drive, etc. and reduces the need to change/remember passwords. It gives me piece of mind that my accounts are secured.

Inconvénients

When not connected to the corporate network, Okta requires 2-step verification that can be tedious and slow me down (at least this is my company's policy). Some of my apps aren't connected to Okta so I still need to bookmark those and remember passwords.

I like the color scheme and over design of the application, it's very well done and minimal.
Adding 3rd party apps is easy as well.

Not much to say here really it's good. I called customer support once and had a so-so experience but that is it.

Okta's features are top notch and address most use cases in the identity management solutions space. They have rich ecosystem of integrations and work great either with public cloud infrastructure or on-premises systems.

Okta should have lower price points and subscription options to allow smaller business to adopt their product. While it's understandable that they target large enterprises, the SMB customers are usually priced out.

Inconvénients

2 fac is still not the most seamless experience, but I think Okta does a good job. The chrome extension was particularly helpful, providing my trusted browser with easy logging in functionality.

Okta allows our organization to ensure that the person logging into an app is who they say they are. Okta has enabled us to be confident in that aspect of security.

Okta does not play in the advanced authentication space for local machines like RSA SecureID does. This feature would be welcome and it is missed.

Nothing, other than the fact that sometimes I need to re-verify on my mobile device multiple times, despite having "remembered" my device.

In the world where we have tons of apps to deal with on a daily basis, it is difficult to remember all the password. Okta helps in integrating all these workplace apps and provide a single sign-on solution without compromising security.

It is really easy to log onto different services and keep track of passwords. It gives a nice layer of security too since the logins are on behalf of the company. It is convenient to click the Okta icon in my browser to navigate to a particular service.

It is hard to say, since it functions exactly as I need it to function. One improvement could be on the UI on the site. It looks a bit too much like Bootstrap, but that is just a design decision.

I think its kind of clunky still, some of my softwares dont sync my passwords or update with it, i think the double sign on prompt when i'm using with with microsoft products is quite annoying.

I used OKTA a couple years ago while administrating software for a client who used it regularly for their SSO and identity management. It worked well for what we needed it to do, and looked like it was a good program for managing large numbers of employees, particularly when access to different resources needed to be actively managed.

Inconvénients

Some softwares that we worked with had differing rules for IP authentication versus other (SSO) authentication, and this would occasionally lead to confusion on our end when trying to set up the resource and its access in Okta.

Okta functions exactly the way it's advertised -- one password and sign-ons consolidated in one place. I like that its home page groups together my frequent logins for ease of use. I recently started at a new company and liked that I didn't have to remember all the various sites/applications, because they were already grouped together on the Okta page and are a click away from being used. That's saved me time and hassle.

Inconvénients

No complaints specific to this SSO. Simple but serves its purpose. Haven't yet experienced any issues with Okta not working as designed.

It allows me to use my phone to verify my account even when being abroad. It is a lot more useful than SMS or email verification. It is also very fast and can be done with push notifications.

It is not very clear who provides support in case of issues. The first time you use it can be a bit tricky as the setup is not that easy.

My company uses Okta for authentication. Before this, I've never used any authentication app to get into my tools and platforms. However, Okta was easy to grasp and understand how to use. Of course, my tech team and orientation helped, but I like how it's just a simple "approve authentication" button, and that's it.

It syncs to Apple Watch too.

It asks me too frequently to authenticate. But that's for good safety measures.

I never had to keep track of each of my corporate emails and password logins for each software I needed to download and install thanks to Okta. The process of entering corporate credentials are super easy.

I have had to contact customer service a few times and they have been very helpful. It has been fairly easy to integrate and the security layer has been strong so far. I can sign into many applications from my OKTA homepage and it keeps everything in one place!

The initial integration was a bit complicated for me and it took a few times reading over the documentation to fully understand everything. It's also expensive, but it is what it is!

I like that it bring the internet applications like ADP and others to a Single sign on environment linked to your Active Directory. Having that means users can add approved applications for business or personal use and have them easily secured via AD

the setup was harder than they let on, however it does work as promised. The application required a small application to be installed on servers to establish the sync with the OKTA sites. I can only get it successfully installed on one server so there is no redundancy. I also feel like their constant barrage of emails about updates is a bit excessive.

Okta is one of my favorite tools we use at my company. We have all of the different softwares we use consolidated on different Okta tiles. When I log in to do anything I go through Okta tiles and it works great.

Inconvénients

The only con I can think of is the longer I've worked at my company, the more Okta tiles I've gotten. I can forsee there being a issue with Okta being so over-crowded with tiles that it just feels cluttered.

I use okta everyday for two-step authentication for my VPN access. A mobile device is required. it works well, have never had an issue with it from a user perspective.

I have a team of off-shored contractors who we recently moved to okta for VPN access. Some don't have a smart mobile device which is a limitation of the solution.

Adding and removing many users to groups was an issue in a previous release, but many of the bugs have been fixed in a short period of time.
