A Solid Tool
Overall, I found Grasshopper easy to use and competitively priced. It worked well for us as a solution for our helpdesk
Avantages
I loved how easy it was to set up new extensions with Grasshopper.
Inconvénients
Recording messages was challenging at times because the first word or two would be cut off during playback.

Good Voice Quality, Features & Good Phone Support
I have used grashopper for 2 years & voice quality & phone support very good having good features like call forwarding, Auto Attendent,Extensions etc. which is essential for any good business softphone

BUYER BEWARE
Would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a phone service. To not offer a refund for a service that a customer original paid for that they aren't receiving is beyond a terrible company. Scam artists.
Avantages
NO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They had okay customer service until we went to cancel because we lost the ability to send text messages.
Inconvénients
They had a company wide (had to register for SMS). While this process happened, you were unable to send text messages. After hours with customer support it never got resolved. They said it was out of their control and we had to be patient for it to be approved. After waiting about a month, I transferred my number to another company.
When I went to cancel, they told me a refund is not possible. So we had to pay for the duration of the year even though we weren't getting a service (texting) that was included in our package.

Grasshopper 2025
It has been great! Very easy to use! I have been happy to use it for handling text communications with all of our current & new families.
Avantages
I love that I can text multiple patients and have several threads going at one time. I also like that we can separate voicemail lines.
Inconvénients
We do not have the ability to build templates to send out via text message.

Costly, But Lots of Features
Overall, I was highly pleased with the quick onboarding process. It took less than 30 minutes to have the app fully set up and my number activated. My business chose to go with Grasshopper primarily because it's a trusted and well-known name in VOIP. Grasshopper has enabled us to have a separate phone number for our business and adds a ton of convenience in that we are able to use it with their app on our smartphones.
Avantages
I like that, compared to its competitors, Grasshopper offers a wider variety of useful features. Some of my favorite features are visual voicemail, conference calling, Wi-Fi calling, virtual fax, and business texting. All of those features and more are included in all of their plans at no additional cost.
Inconvénients
There are only two things that I dislike about Grasshopper. The plan pricing is the first on my list. They offer three different plans; I have the cheapest one which costs $29 per month which includes the phone number plus three lines. Second, I dislike that in order to use the Wi-Fi calling feature, you must first disable the Wi-Fi calling feature if you already use it with your cellular plan.

Terrible service, run far far away!
Terrible. I wish I had not signed up. Unfortunatley I was conned into picking the year subscription, so big loss of $$. If you really want to try for yourself, DO NOT pick the year subscription. Only throw your money away for a month or 2.
Avantages
Only pro is it was fairly quick and easy to get started. Phone calls work okay.
Inconvénients
TERRIBLE customer service. The online settings interface is horribly non-intuitive. Doing something that should be really simple, like setting an away greeting while you are on vacation, cannot be done by yourself. After trying every possible configuration online, you have to contact support. But they make it impossible to find the number to contact support. Then when you do finally find the number, you're transferred or disconnected multiple times. End result is you'll spend an hour or more trying to change something that should take 2-3 minutes.

Not Worth it
I used this app so that I could continue using my personal phone, and this would provide me an additional line. The calls are supposed to come up as grasshopper calls. They didn't always. Sometimes the calls wouldn't ring on my phone and show up on the app later as a missed call. I lost potential clients due to this. Frustrating experience as I'd connected with support and they told me it was a setting issue and they'd corrected it. It continued to happen after the fact. No refund. When I cancelled 10 days into the monthly cycle they wouldn't offer me a pro-rated refund on the days not used, but stated they would have to cancel on that very day. I had to fight to get the refund for the remaining 20 days I would not have the service.
Avantages
I like the that you can track calls, voicemails, etc on the app.
Inconvénients
The calls are muffled. Calls aren't always clear doesn't matter if I'm on wifi or data.

Expensive service
Smallest package is $30 a month. You must pay the year upfront in full.
Didnt use it for 1.5 yrs. Called to cancel and they refuse to give credit back for last 6 months. Found my cell service proveds secondary number for only $10 a month. No long term commitment. I would not suggest anyone use this company. Delays in connecting to incoming calls, costly compared to other options.

Delays when i answer thenphone to be connected. Cost. You have to pay full.year up front. I canceled mid way through the year and they refuse to give me any credit. Never really used the service for the 2 years i paid for and they refuse to give any credit for remaing 6 months that are canceled.Unable to text with out going through some sorr of verifacation to prove you are not spamming. I dont have that issue with my verizon service.

An affordable and excellent option for a business number that allows for easy client management
Overall a very positive experience due to the functionality and ease of use in relation to cost.
Avantages
The interface is very easy to use and really like how not only text messages can be sent but also audio calls and voicemails can be received all in one place. It is helped that multiple users and lines can also be set up as well.
Inconvénients
There were several technical glitches experienced on occasion where the software would not connect. This was most often due to two users not being able to utilize it at the same time.

Grasshopper SUCKS
Horrible! Customer service is awful, WASTE of money. Bought this product a few years back and it was easy to use, uploaded contacts smoothly, and sent group text. NOW, none of that is possible.
Avantages
Nothing! False advertisement, no bulk texting. Must upload contacts one at a time. Customer service is horrible.
Inconvénients
Everything! Refused to refund. Not easy to use, no basic instructions. Cannot bulk text.

Better price, more feature options are out there
If you just need basic phone features, it's fine.
If you business grows, you will soon find it too limiting.
What disappoints me the most is, Grasshopper doesn't have a way to export or backup your text messages. The rep also claims they delete all of my text messages history immediately after I ported out my numbers. I only ported 2 of my 3 numbers out 5 days ago and i can no longer find the text message history. From the software design stand point, there is certainly no need to delete your customers text message history immediately after they ported their numbers. Also text messages take up negligible amount of storage space. It just doesn't make sense.
Avantages
The price is affordable and it's easy to discover this company because their ads are everywhere on google. Among the competitor ads, Grasshopper offers good value and covers all the basic features.
But there are other better value system out there, but it will take a while for you to find them because they don't spend nearly as much advertising dollars.
Inconvénients
Grasshopper is definitely a company that puts quite a bit of money on marketing. You find their google ads when you search for VOIP phone solution. I wish they had put the money into feature development instead.

Professional and affordable phone system for small businesses
Avantages
It allows us to have a toll-free number and individual extensions for our team members who are located throughout the country. We have access to an easy-to-use app so that we never miss calls and never have to wait to be in front of the computer to return calls from the company phone #.
Inconvénients
None that I can think of it. This system is rather efficient and doing everything we need as a small business.

Easy way to set up a professional business line
Avantages
It was easy to set up a business phone line with multiple extensions, and best yet it allows you to have an option to send to another phone number, answer directly, or even send directly to a voicemail - all very helpful.
Inconvénients
They give options for voice over, but typically (As we did) people record there own - but the process of recording is somewhat difficult - you have to remember a code, and it is kind of like recording your message for your own personal phone. I wish that they had more options to record, and made the process more simple.

A clear, uncomplicated tool that works well for me
It is an economical, efficient system to use. The app with the little grasshopper face is memorable and cute.
Avantages
I like having a transcription of a voice mail (even when it isn't really clear.) Logging in or out is simple to do. Texting is an added tool that is most helpful when people will read a text quicker than listen to a voice message.
Inconvénients
The call logs are difficult to 'translate' when I need to see if a number has actually called us. The interface at the website for working with calls already in is not intuitive.
About once a week, I must uninstall and reinstall the app on my phone to keep it working smooth. I know when the system won't let me answer a call, but keeps saying which numbers to press for certain actions, the time has come to refresh the installation.

Works okay, but is sometimes unstable and unpredictable.
I have gotten new customers who prefer using a toll free number to contact us. It also helps add credibility to my business.
Avantages
I like having a separate number that is toll free. It is relatively simple to use and has a lot of options that help my business.
Inconvénients
I answer the ring and get disconnected. When I make call using the app, i get disconnected in the middle of a conversation. When the phone rings, I sometimes get a different type of ring and then app does not work.

The software is easy to use and definitely worth the money. I can't imagine running my business without it.
Avantages
I love the professional presence it creates for my business. I have had numerous clients compliment how professional the business presents itself. The biggest plus for me is the way my notifications are set up. When a call comes in, I'm able to decide at that moment if I need take it or let it go to voicemail.
Inconvénients
The biggest con for me is setting up the voicemail for the different mail boxes. Somehow I always end up changing the main greeting.

Decent product for the price
We have a had a decent experience with it, especially for the price and simplicity.
Avantages
Easy to add extensions and voicemails. The app is very easy to use. As the administrator, I am able to see every call and voicemail for the entire company. There is no need for any additional phones or hardware. You just need your cellphone and/or a computer that has mic/headphones.
Inconvénients
About 80% reliable. Sometimes calls are dropped or the app says that I have a voicemail or missed call, but my phone or my employee's phones never rang. Even though there is a wi-fi calling feature it opens the door to all sorts of glitches, so we make sure to never enable that option.
The desktop app is decent, but it does not keep you logged in. You have to log in on a regular basis, which can get frustrating.

Great Service!
Avantages
Love that I can customize the greeting as seasons change. I automatically receive notification to my email with caller detail and voice message so I can review and reply as needed. Great to keep up with messages when you can't immediately pick up the phone!
Inconvénients
I don't have any cons so far and we've used the service since 2015! We are a small company, it works for what we need it to.

Grasshopper works perfect in our office where we are so reliant on cell phones.
Avantages
Being able to manage calls and voicemails through our mobile phones and the app. Being able to add extensions to pass to our cells is a great feature.
Inconvénients
The website on setup is a little confusing. Adding extensions and forwarding calls could have been a little more straight-forward, but after working through it, it was fine.

Great to not have to carry Two Phones! And access to one phone line from multiple devices!
Overall, it's a great option for our business since we work remotely and it's incredible for us to be able to all access the same business line whenever needed. I do wish we had less errors than we have experienced though. Still the best option we have found though. Customer service is quick and helpful, but they haven't always been able to fix the issues I have had.
Avantages
I was tired of carrying my personal phone and my business phone. Now I have access to both phone lines on one mobile device. Even better is I can access the business line from all of my devices! And even better than that is my business partner can also access the same business line from their mobile devices as well!
Inconvénients
It has a lot of great features, but seems to have quite a few glitches as well. We have missing text messages on occasion and random errors like that.

I need a Phone!
Avantages
You can pick a new number or port your current number over and use Grasshopper features. Toll-Free numbers, this is what we use for marketing so we can track the calls I like the fact we use vanity numbers easy to remember and more people call on a toll-free line.
We have not gotten to use the apps yet but, having personal and business on one phone is great. Voice mail text is also great I can read and see fast what is going on without dialing back into the system.
Inconvénients
The cons not many at all I found the pricing good, the features are rich, and the monthly option or pay annaully is great.
